“System, what’s going on?”
Xi Yu looked at the virtual interface with crimson eyes, one hand rubbing Xi Qi’s small belly while the other trembled slightly behind her.
System: “Probably just overeating?”
Xi Yu: “…”
System: “Just a friendly reminder.”
Xi Yu felt a bit embarrassed, “I got it, no need to remind me.”
“It’s just that you’ve been relying on nutrient solutions, which might weaken your normal eating functions. So, it’s better not to eat roasted food too often. You still need to balance it with nutrient solutions.”
Xi Yu’s expression slightly darkened. After eating roasted meat, could she still stomach nutrient solutions?
After rubbing Xi Qi’s belly for a while, Xi Yu took out Xi Qi’s bedtime holographic device from her space and handed it to Xi Qi.
Xi Qi looked at Xi Yu with curiosity and then obediently accepted the device.
Xi Yu glanced at the thick system user manual.
The two fell into a quiet environment.
There were still plenty of the roasted stone-toothed beast remaining from the first day, and Xi Yu was in no hurry to go out. She began to gradually master the secrets of roasting the beast.
At the edge of rawness, the natural flavor of the beast was preserved to the maximum extent.
The key point was that the system had suggested buying seasonings, but unfortunately she was too poor.
Xi Yu could only stay in the cave, carefully studying the user manual, hoping to quickly find a way to earn money.
Having owed the system so many star coins, she felt that daily life required a lot of coins as well.
Day and night, Xi Yu diligently read the manual, spending nearly three days to finish skimming through it.
The place the system came from was undoubtedly more advanced than the civilization of the Starry Empire.
The system was something that people there were born with, akin to the identity chips and holographic devices of the empire.
Civilization, technology, medicine—all reached a level that Xi Yu could hardly imagine in her lifetime.
Her proud identity as a mechanic, in the eyes of other civilizations, merely served as a decoration.
Life there was stable, with almost no chaos.
As Xi Yu approached the end of the manual, she was shocked by what she learned about that world. She was left in awe for a long time.
Only at the end did Xi Yu see a glimmer of hope.
Bounty Task List.
She wrote on the holographic device, then crossed it out and wrote it again.
System: “The current host may want to try it now.”
Xi Yu: “By the way, if your world is so good, why did you come here?”
The system’s screen flickered slightly. “There are always things here worth looking forward to.”
Xi Yu’s deep eyes sparkled as she gazed absently at the sky outside.
“Forget it, download the items from the bounty task list. If we come across any, just let me know.”
Flipping through the so-called bounty task list, many of the items had unfamiliar names. Most results found on the system were energy stones or materials for making weapon and mechas, which were ores that humans could not mine at present.
After the system finished downloading, the screen flickered again as if hesitating about something.
Xi Yu looked at the system in front of her. “Is there something you want to say?”
The system flickered slightly, “Host, since this is your first time obtaining the system, your credit rating isn’t high enough. Therefore, loans need to be repaid monthly, in installments over a year. That means you need to pay back ten million within a year, with at least one million each month.”
Xi Yu’s expression darkened slightly. “What if, of course just if, I can’t repay it in full?”
System: “The host will be blacklisted by the mainbrain and will be restricted of future transactions. Of course, aside from some basic items that can be purchased, the majority will be limited, especially in areas like potions, energy, and weapons, where the tax will also be higher.”
