Chapter 32: Are You Here to Seek Death?
Nan Yue Ran’s expression darkened as she looked at the security guards at the entrance of the Lin family.
“Call your Family Head, Lin Qing, out!”
Having spent years in the upper circles of Lintai, Nan Yue Ran naturally knew who Lin Qing was.
However, the two security guards snickered upon hearing her demand.
“Who do you think you are? You think you can just see our Family Head? What qualifications do you have?!”
Nan Yue Ran’s tone turned cold.
“I am Nan Yue Ran!”
The two guards froze for a moment.
One tall guard scratched his head, seeming to recall something, and his expression changed.
“Oh, it’s Miss Nan. But we don’t know why you’re looking for our Family Head.”
“Given your status, Miss Nan, you could just contact our Family Head directly by phone, why come here in person?”
The other plump guard also seemed to remember who Nan Yue Ran was.
When his gaze landed on Bai Chen, he was taken aback.

The tall guard shifted his gaze to Bai Chen as well and nodded.
“That makes sense!”

The tall guard narrowed his eyes, then suddenly wore a big smile while looking at Nan Yue Ran.
“Miss Nan, if you want to go inside, that’s fine, but your ‘bodyguard’ here will have to wait outside!”
Nan Yue Ran’s expression immediately soured.
“This is my husband, Bai Chen, not some bodyguard! Get out of my way!”
The tall guard continued to look at Nan Yue Ran with a teasing expression.
“Miss Nan, forgive me for being blunt, but in Lintai, only Young Master Yang is worthy of being your husband. I don’t believe this country bumpkin is your husband!”
“I’ll say it again, you can go in, but he cannot!”
Just as Nan Yue Ran was about to explode, Bai Chen stepped forward, standing right in front of the two guards.
“What? Are you a country bumpkin and still not convinced? If you have the guts, come at me!”
The tall guard provocatively challenged Bai Chen, his eyes filled with disdain.
The other guard laughed derisively.
“A country bumpkin from the mountains! A rural migrant worker in the city—does he dare? Does this bumpkin, who has been sheltered in the mountains all his life, have that kind of courage? To put it nicely, he’s just an honest man, but to put it harshly, he’s just a good-for-nothing!”
The tall guard nodded with a laugh, pushing Bai Chen’s chest with his hand.
“Come on, kneel down and bark like a dog three times! You do whatever I say, and if you make me happy, I might let you in to take a look! Otherwise, it’s off the table!”
“Ha ha ha! This suggestion is great! Did you hear that, you smelly country bumpkin?”
Bai Chen scoffed lightly.
“Have these two guard dogs been doing dog work for too long, thinking they can make others their dogs?”
“Just two dogs, and they really think they are the masters of the house. How ridiculous!”
Hearing Bai Chen’s words, the faces of the two guards darkened.

Bai Chen ignored them and turned to Nan Yue Ran, smiling gently.

With that, Bai Chen delivered two hard slaps to the faces of the two guards.

“Are you the Family Head of the Lin family?”
Hearing Bai Chen’s words, Lin Qing narrowed his eyes.
He didn’t know Bai Chen, but he recognized Nan Yue Ran!
