Chapter 19: Fainting Nan Yue Ran
Bai Chen watched the dramatic scene and shook his head.
When Xue Shan Hai came to his senses and heard Li Guifang’s words, his face turned pale as he quickly retorted,
“Ms. Li! You can’t say that! I performed emergency care for your husband with your consent!”
“Besides, weren’t you just saying that traditional medicine is a scam and trash? This was just a mistake! It’s something that happens during emergency care!”
“To put it more accurately, you are the one who caused your husband’s death!”
Hearing Xue Shan Hai’s words, Li Guifang immediately broke down in tears and sat on the ground, crying loudly.
Regret flooded her heart.
Looking at her husband, who was now lifeless, Li Guifang deeply hated her previous actions.
If she could turn back time, she would definitely listen to Bai Chen, but sadly, it was too late.
Liu Yuming and Zhao Ruilong both watched this scene, feeling a mix of sadness and empathy.
At the same time, they were also incredibly amazed by Bai Chen’s medical skills.
“When did Lintai get such a talented young doctor?”
This thought echoed in both of their minds.
Liu Yuming, wise with age, quickly prepared another bag of medicine and brought it to Bai Chen.
“Doctor Bai, you can keep the money for the herbs! Here’s another bag for you!”
“Your Zhongjing acupuncture technique…”
Bai Chen chuckled lightly at the compliment; this old man was quite amusing.
However, since Liu Yuming learned the Zhongjing acupuncture technique that Bai Chen had passed down, in a sense, Liu Yuming was also one of his disciples.
Bai Chen happily offered a few pointers.
After receiving Bai Chen’s advice, Liu Yuming felt as if he had encountered a genius!
Many of the insights Bai Chen shared were things he had never considered before, and with just a few words, Bai Chen resolved problems that had puzzled Liu Yuming for years.
“Thank you, Doctor Bai! Thank you, Doctor Bai!”
Seeing Liu Yuming overflowing with gratitude, Bai Chen smiled.
“No need for such formality. Just let me know if you ever have valuable herbs.”
Soon, Zhao Ya brought out a century-old purple ganoderma from her home and handed it to Bai Chen.
Looking at the purple ganoderma in his hands, Bai Chen felt very satisfied. After bidding farewell to the others, he headed straight home.
With the century-old purple ganoderma, he could stabilize Nian Nian’s condition for a while.
After Bai Chen left, Zhao Ruilong turned to Liu Yuming to inquire about Bai Chen.
“Old Liu, did you know there’s such a young great doctor in Lintai? What can you tell me about him?”
Liu Yuming shook his head. “I have no idea. Don’t be fooled by his youth; his medical skills are far beyond mine!”
"Such a person probably has a significant background!"
Zhao Ruilong nodded in agreement.
Seeing this, Liu Yuming smiled slightly. "Are you starting to have thoughts about him?"
"Isn’t it obvious? If we can befriend him, it’s like having an extra protective charm!"
Liu Yuming glanced at Zhao Ya and chuckled. "Why not introduce your granddaughter to him? She’s young and has excellent medical skills; she completely deserves to be part of your Zhao family!"
Zhao Ya’s face turned bright red upon hearing this, but she imagined Bai Chen’s handsome face in her mind.
Zhao Ruilong shook his head. "Let’s wait for another opportunity to discuss this. Isn’t Lintai’s Yang Family organizing a social gathering soon? We can see then; for now, I’ll look into his background first!"
Liu Yuming nodded and looked at the still-crying Li Guifang with a sympathetic gaze.
If he had known it would come to this, he wouldn’t have acted that way in the first place.
Bai Chen returned home and, as soon as he opened the door, saw Nan Yue Ran lying on the sofa with a pained expression.
Bai Chen’s face changed immediately as he rushed over.
"Yue Ran, what happened?"
As he approached Nan Yue Ran, Bai Chen noticed her delicate face was devoid of color.
He quickly checked her pulse and discovered that the Ancestor Zombie Bloodline within her was acting up.
Adding to that, with her menstrual period approaching, various factors combined led to Nan Yue Ran’s current condition.
“Mom, drink some water!”
Bai Nian Nian carefully walked in with a cup of warm water.
“Dad, you’re back! Hurry and see how mom is! She fainted as soon as she got home!”
Bai Chen placed the medicine aside and began to check Nan Yue Ran’s pulse.
Nan Yue Ran looked distressed and was starting to lose her awareness.
After confirming her condition, Bai Chen quickly began to treat her with needles.
As he performed the Destiny Nine Needles technique, Nan Yue Ran’s condition gradually improved, and her complexion returned to a healthier tone.
Bai Chen only suppressed the Ancestor Zombie Bloodline within Nan Yue Ran, alleviating her pain.
However, Nan Yue Ran still frowned and looked pained.
Bai Chen hesitated for a moment and then gently placed his hand on Nan Yue Ran’s lower abdomen.
“Nian Nian, go get that towel.”
Bai Nian Nian quickly ran to fetch a towel.
Seeing that Nan Yue Ran was still unconscious, Bai Chen frowned. Taking a deep breath, he gently lifted her clothing, exposing her smooth, flat abdomen.
Her fair skin seemed delicate and tender, drawing Bai Chen’s gaze to her navel, which was cinched like a small seam.
After a few glances, Bai Chen refocused on the acupuncture points on her abdomen.
His fingers lightly touched Nan Yue Ran’s belly, feeling as if he were touching smooth jade.
Bai Chen’s actions weren’t taking advantage of her situation; rather, he was using a special technique to massage Nan Yue Ran, helping her relieve her menstrual pain.
However, his current approach did have an ambiguous undertone.
After a while, seeing that Nan Yue Ran’s frown was softening, Bai Chen felt things were improving, so he gently lowered her clothing and stood up to leave.
……
“Mom, you’re awake!”
Bai Nian Nian exclaimed in surprise as she saw Nan Yue Ran slowly opening her eyes.
In the kitchen, Bai Chen paused when he heard the commotion.
Nan Yue Ran sat up from the sofa, surprised to find that her previous abdominal pain had vanished, and the sharp discomfort was gone.
“Nian Nian, what happened to me?”
Nan Yue Ran was a bit puzzled, sensing a lingering warmth in her abdomen.
“Mom, you fainted! And then Dad gave you a massage.”
Hearing Bai Nian Nian’s words, Nan Yue Ran was a little shocked as she realized Bai Chen had returned.
But could such a problem really be solved just by a massage?
Nan Yue Ran found it hard to believe.
Yet she understood the importance of gratitude; no matter what, Bai Chen’s concern was enough for her to feel thankful.
Nan Yue Ran walked to the kitchen and looked at Bai Chen, who was preparing medicine, her face showing gratitude.
“Bai Chen, thank you!”
Bai Chen waved his hand slightly.
“No need to thank me. Your condition isn’t severe; I’ll make sure to treat you well.”
Nan Yue Ran bit her lip, recalling the words her grandfather had said yesterday. After some hesitation, she decided to voice her thoughts.
“In a few days, the Yang Family in Lintai will hold a family gathering. I had a childhood friend named Yang Xiao Tian, and he is the one organizing this gathering.”
“My grandfather, my dad, and my mom all want me to go.”
“Also, I have a small request.”
