Chapter 126: Desperate Counterattack
While the crowd argued noisily, Fang Lie lay speechless in agony.
The Thousand Souls’ Funeral lived up to its ominous name—few survived being stabbed by these twin Short Swords. A thousand vengeful spirits would cling to the victim, draining vitality, eroding Magic, and assaulting the divine sense. Combined with the Corpse Poison refined from a thousand corpses’ essence, death came swiftly.
Rumors claimed only those at Wind Tribulation Immortal cultivation or higher could withstand this vile weapon. Excepting such supreme experts who could disregard low-grade treasures, all others faced certain gruesome death—souls devoured by spirits, bodies dissolving into putrid sludge.
Worse still, the swords’ release of vengeful spirits paralyzed victims instantly. Stiffened beyond even blinking, one couldn’t swallow life-saving spirit pills if they had any.
Yet these lethal treasures had limitations. Their overwhelming Hatred prevented Magic activation—they required physical stabbing. No sane fighter would let such obvious Poisonous creatures touch them in open combat, restricting their use to backstabbing ambushes where success was near guaranteed.
This explained Bai First Young Master’s scheme. He’d dispatched Blue Butterfly Dress to feign friendship, then staged a fake attack forcing Fang Lie to shield her. The righteous youth inevitably fell for it, exposing his back to his "protégée". Her treacherous strike found its mark perfectly.
Now the Thousand Souls’ Swords pierced both kidneys. Vengeful spirits ravaged Fang Lie’s nerves and soul while Corpse Poison blackened his blood. Agony wracked his body and mind—even this iron-willed man dripped sweat, facial muscles twitching uncontrollably.
Delighted, Bai First Young Master embraced Blue Butterfly Dress while taunting, "Where’s your power now, Fang Lie? Reduced to a writhing worm!" A brutal kick sent Fang Lie flying, black blood spraying.
Though the Thousand Souls’ grip prevented speech, Fang Lie’s blazing eyes cursed his betrayers.
Blue Butterfly Dress shrank under his gaze. "Don’t hate me, Young Master Fang. I belong to Bai First Young Master."
"Why explain?" Bai First Young Master sneered.
"I’m frightened!" She clung to him. "If he revives through his undying nature, he’ll kill me!"
"My protection suffices," Bai First Young Master scoffed.
"But he’s a candidate Token Lord…"
"A candidate!" He laughed derisively. "The Ancestor’s Token requires righteous cause. Your ambush occurred during the Secret Realm contest—no crimes apply here. The sect will pardon everything!"
"Still, his vengeance…"
"No vengeance!" Bai First Young Master’s eyes glinted. "Today I break him utterly."
"Destroy his undying nature?"
"Even our clan’s ancestors haven’t solved that mystery. No—I’ll shatter his spirit!" Bai First Young Master grinned cruelly. "Strip him naked. Piss on him. Force-feed him filth. Record everything with Shadow Record Stones and spread the footage. Let the mighty Fang Lie become a laughingstock! Will he suicide? Go mad? Either way, his precious inheritance becomes worthless!"
Hearing Bai First Young Master’s words, everyone present gasped sharply. They thought to themselves, "How much does this man hate Fang Lie? To devise such a vile method to humiliate him! If this succeeds, Fang Lie would never dare show his face again! Even if he doesn’t take his own life, he’d surely go mad!"
Just then, one of Bai First Young Master’s lackeys shouted, "Big Bro, you’re a genius! Even if we can’t kill him physically, we’ll destroy his dignity! But Fang Lie’s nearly dead—shouldn’t we hurry?"
At these words, everyone turned to look at Fang Lie. His entire body had turned black from Corpse Poison, his blood nearly drained through the bleeding slots. Yet despite this, Fang Lie continued glaring at them with feral intensity, as if ready to lunge and bite.
Bai First Young Master chuckled. "Look at this! Fang Lie’s constitution is extraordinary. Normally, those treasures should’ve melted a Qi Sea cultivator into corpse soup by now. But he’s still fighting!"
Unbeknownst to Bai First Young Master, Fang Lie’s body had changed since cultivating the *Innate Great Five Elements Nascent Fetus Classic*. The Nirvana fire nascent fetus had been silently transforming him. Though currently focusing on his skin—where Dao pattern karp from his Qi Sea fused daily—his entire body had grown several times sturdier. Without this, the Corpse Poison would’ve killed him already.
Regaining his composure, Bai First Young Master declared, "His resilience delights me! We finally caught him alive—killing him quickly would be too merciful. Men!" he barked. "Remove those treasures, staunch his bleeding, and feed him antidote. Keep him breathing!"
"Young Master," a subordinate worried, "What if this lets him recover?"
"Fang Lie’s dangerous," another agreed. "If he breaks free, our plans—"
"Fear nothing!" Bai First Young Master cut in. "A thousand vengeful spirits rage within him. They’ll keep him paralyzed—completely at our mercy!"
Reassured, two lackeys approached. One yanked out the Thousand Souls’ Funeral male and female swords while the other forced a detox pill down Fang Lie’s throat. They hauled Fang Lie before their master, flattering, "Young Master, here’s your live prey! Your orders?"
Grinning, Bai First Young Master rubbed his chin. "Lower him. Then piss on his face—one after another!"
The lackeys dropped Fang Lie. One sneered, "I’ve got a golden gift for him!" as he unfastened his trousers.
"Perfect!" Bai First Young Master crowed. "The rest of you—record this with multiple Shadow Record Stones! I’ll share these far and wide!"
Laughter erupted as stones were produced. The pantsless man thrust his hips forward. "Behold! My offering—"
Fang Lie exploded upward. His right hand slashed.
Something dark arced through the air. The lackey’s heart-wrenching scream pierced the room as he collapsed, clutching his gushing groin.
