Chapter 570: Our Alliance
The Dragon of Time.
A truly great being, immortal across the diverse universe, surpassing even the gods. Among all dragon clans, the Dragon of Time is recognized as the most powerful.
Even as hatchlings, they wield the power of Apocalypse, unaffected by time, with bodies and souls that remain eternal. They feed on the very essence of time itself.
However, such dragons are incredibly rare, even more so than gods. Few know of the Dragon of Time, and records or knowledge about them are scarce.
Among those present, only Merete Chambers and Amy recognized it. Merete, of course, was well-read and knowledgeable, while Amy had access to an immense database from millions of Omnics.
[Hehe, you folks from the Babel Tower have finally arrived.]
The Dragon turned its immense head, observing the witch, sensing her power—equal to its own.
The group from Babel Tower exchanged glances. The Cursed String Music chuckled and remained silent, while Ganis crossed his arms, taking a deep breath. He finally spoke: “In the current situation, she’s the only one who provides a sense of safety on our side.”
Had Merete Chambers not been present, the divine-level Dragon of Time could have easily wiped them all out.
Merete narrowed her eyes, staying silent.
The Immortal Dragon of Time spoke again.
[For so many years, the Tylor civilization has been afraid of Babel Tower, you know?]
Everyone was taken aback. Even Merete, who had never heard of such a thing before, seemed surprised. Overflowing in the World, Recording Everything had never mentioned such detailed information. Only Bai Yan remained unfazed.
He had already seen an introduction to the Tylor civilization before. It mentioned “fear” on one side and “admiration” from the Enos civilization.
Bai Yan remembered. Despite being a gigantic ruling civilization, the Tylor civilization harbored a deep fear towards Babel Tower, even without having ever met them.
The Immortal Dragon of Time explained further.
[Many years ago, we were nearly annihilated by the God of Games and the Tower.]
This was the greatest crisis the Tylor civilization had ever faced.
[Our predecessor was an empire, ruled by a single deity. One fateful day, our mighty Platinum Dragon, the most supreme among us, was defeated and perished at the hands of the Original People’s ruler—the terrifying Outer God.]
[The Empire of the Transcendent Dragon Clan fell apart, and then, I and seventeen companions crafted the Tylor civilization as it is now.]
[We sought to create a new civilization, a multi-racial one.]
He paused, eyeing the witch.
[But later, our civilization encountered the God of Games and Gambling, who forced us into a “game” to plunder our powers and lives.]
[Nine immortal dragons fell, and nine fled… We barely survived. After millions of years, we regained our strength through collaboration with the Original People. But the fear of the God of Games and Gambling remained embedded deep in our souls.]
[And we knew the Savior of the Babel Tower was a fusion of the Connector and the God of Games. The Connector, too, is no good.]
The group exchanged glances. They had heard rumors of the Savior’s origins from Mu Ling years ago, but this explanation wasn’t overly shocking.
Bai Yan suddenly realized that, as the false Savior, he had been wrongly blamed for the actions of the true Savior.
It wasn’t that he couldn’t accept it. Having inherited the legacy of Babel Tower, it made sense for Bai Yan to also inherit the blame. After all, power always comes with a corresponding cost.
Bai Yan controlled Merete Chambers’ body and spoke, “So, what do you want to do? Did you come here to start a war with us?”
Most people began to feel nervous, except for Amy and the witch. Amy remained emotionless, while Merete Chambers continued to converse with Bai Yan mentally.
[You’ve really become quite skilled at using my body, haven’t you?]
[No, I’ve always been skilled at controlling you all.]
Kaluoer suddenly noticed that the silver unicorn party had vanished. Where had they gone?
Could this all be a trap?
As an immortal dragon, the Dragon of Time wielded immense power, even among god-level beings. Time itself was under its control, a formidable presence.
Kaluoer couldn’t fathom how to kill it. They might only rely on the witch.
Amy broke the silence. “I think you probably don’t have any ill will.”
[Oh, how do you know? How did you figure that out?]
“Guessed… Or rather, it was the result of data analysis from tone and wording. You have an 89% chance of holding goodwill and affection towards us.”
[Yes, your guess is right! In reality, I’ve come here to collaborate with you.]
[Through the power of time, I’ve sought you in Noah’s realm, left imprints, and witnessed Babel Tower’s deeds. I believe you won’t act against us without reason, and the current Savior is not the same as the previous God of Games.]
[That’s why I’ve come. To cooperate with you.]
“Cooperate?” Alan raised an eyebrow.
Aurora asked, “What’s the matter? Is there something we need to do?”
[Of course, there is. A crisis has arisen, which is why I need to gather more forces.]
[The 416 Universe, the universe you’re heading to, is the central universe of our Tylor civilization. In simpler terms, it’s the ‘capital’ or ‘political center’ of our civilization… And here, a tremendous problem has arisen.]
“How is this possible?” Alan exclaimed.
“Isn’t the God of Law protecting it?” Alan wondered. “With such a being capable of effortlessly destroying stars, nothing significant would happen there, right?”
The Immortal Dragon of Time fell silent for a moment, then revealed a terrifying truth.
[In fact, the God of Law has encountered a problem.]
The Babel Tower group was mostly astonished, except for Bai Yan, Merete Chambers, and Amy, who had already suspected this possibility.
Bai Yan spoke again through the borrowed body. “I’ve noticed something. There’s no presence of the Great Law within you. Isn’t it said that all members of the Tylor civilization are governed by the Great Law?”
The Immortal Dragon of Time chuckled and shook its head.
[If the nine immortal dragon clans were bound by the Great Law, the entire civilization would become slaves to the God of Law. The God of Law has a cooperative relationship with us, but the Tylor civilization doesn’t belong to Him. He’s not our emperor or a deity to worship.]
[This old friend of ours… encountered a tremendous change… sigh.]
Alan wanted to speak, but Merete Chambers beat him to it. Actually, it was Bai Yan manipulating her body, and he responded first on behalf of Babel Tower.
“Good, we will help you save the Tylor civilization.”
He paused, then continued:
“But the condition for our assistance is that we need to find the legendary Final Stele.”
