Chapter 552: Rejuvenation
Belan World
A place where humans and cat people once lived as separate races, now unified as a hybrid species known as “Belans.”
Long ago, there was only one nation in Belan World, but it eventually fractured into many. For centuries, these nations waged relentless wars. However, unity prevailed, and the world fused into one under the rule of the demigod, Great Emperor Kaslo.
A hundred years have passed since then. Under Kaslo’s rule, the Belan civilization has flourished. Science and magic have become intricately intertwined, giving birth to a golden era of innovation. Magical and technological implants empower every Belan, granting extraordinary abilities. With a mere thought—a single “keyword”—they can unleash precise, potent magic.
In other magical civilizations, years of rigorous training would be required to achieve such feats. Yet, for the Belans, it is a natural part of life.
Recently, Great Emperor Kaslo made a monumental announcement:
The Belan civilization would begin colonizing other universes. This expansion would strengthen their society and secure their future.
The world erupted in celebration.
Nightfall.
Within the floating palace, Kaslo—a youthful figure with black hair and captivating beauty—dismissed his attendants. His voice was calm yet commanding:
“You two, step back, please.”
Alone, he ventured deep into the palace, arriving at a pure white wall. His expression was solemn as he recited an ancient spell:
“The wind of benevolence, please reveal the ancient secret in front of the fool.”
This spell, passed down through generations of the Kaslo family, was a key. The wall dissolved, revealing a grand, hidden chamber—an immense library filled with books and artifacts from countless civilizations.
Floating in the air, surrounded by books, was a white-haired witch. Her beauty was ethereal, her presence otherworldly.
“Teacher,” Kaslo said, bowing his head.
Even as the Great Emperor, revered as a god among men, he dared not meet her gaze.
The witch had existed for three thousand years. Kaslo’s ancestors had served her, and she had raised him as her own. She called him her first “demigod,” but he knew she had transcended such titles long ago.
“Teacher,” he asked hesitantly, “what are you waiting for?”
Her serene smile carried centuries of sorrow.
“I am waiting for someone, little Kaslo,” she said softly. “I won’t ascend until he arrives.”
Kaslo could not comprehend her words, but he pressed no further. Instead, he reported, “I have announced our next plan to the nation, as you instructed.”
The witch’s calm gaze
softened. “Good. From now on,
everything is up to you. Follow
your heart, little Kaslo.”
Shock rippled through him. For
centuries, he had been under
her control, his every move
dictated. Now, she was
granting him freedom.
“Are you… leaving us?” Kaslo’s
voice trembled, tears
streaming down his face.
“Yes,” she replied, her voice
tinged with sadness. “This
world no longer holds my
interest, and… he has
awakened.”
With those words, she
vanished, taking all the books
with her. The bewildered
emperor stood alone in the
empty chamber.
Elsewhere.
The witch sensed a stirring
deep within her soul—a mark
glowing brightly, a part of an
ancient connection.
“It has been so long…” she
murmured, her voice filled with
longing.
Bai Yan.
A deep, overwhelming
drowsiness consumed him. He
wanted nothing more than to
drift into endless sleep.
“Don’t fall asleep again!”
A voice pierced the fog, urgent
and familiar. Bai Yan stirred,
pain and exhaustion weighing
him down.
Slowly, he remembered. He
was Bai Yan. Not a Connector,
not a God of Games, nor a
Savior—but a singular, unique
existence.
“I’m back…”
As his awareness returned, he
found himself in darkness.
Memories of sacrifice and loss
flooded his mind—events from
hundreds, even thousands of
years ago.
Suddenly, a voice reached him:
“Have you finally awakened,
my master?”
It was Merete Chambers, the
Moon Witch. Through her eyes,
Bai Yan saw a bright house by
the beach, heard the soothing
sound of waves, and smelled
the salty sea air.
“It seems you’ve discovered
my true identity,” Bai Yan said,
his tone calm yet firm.
The witch laughed. “Yes, my
master. It has been a long
time.”
Her playful tone hinted at
mischief. “Perhaps I should
transfer your soul into the body
of a dog—maybe a Husky?”
Bai Yan’s silence spoke
volumes. The witch’s jest didn’t
entirely feel like a joke.
Taking control of her body, Bai
Yan reached out and touched
her cheek. The witch sighed,
acknowledging his
dominance.
“Welcome back,” she said with
a smile. “It has been three
thousand years here, but in
Noah’s world, only a little over
ten years have passed.”
Bai Yan’s journey was far from
over. His return marked the
dawn of a new chapter.
