Chapter 506: The Strongest Person Has Joined the Battle
The world grew quiet.
The blood-red dimension, which had once turned dark, regained its blood-stained hue. Except for Bai Yan, Mu Ling, and Alan, everyone who had been present vanished into thin air.
“What happened to those people?”
Mu Ling immediately asked Profligate, her voice tinged with nervousness.
She noticed that everyone except herself, Alan, and Profligate had disappeared. Her heart sank, and she feared the worst—that these people had been wiped out by Mr. Profligate.
Despite her conflict with the Imperial Guards, Mu Ling couldn’t help but think that there must have been a misunderstanding. If all the present Imperial Guards were killed, the Savior wouldn’t want such a situation either.
“Nothing, they were just taken captive by the Savior,” Bai Yan replied, shaking his head with a gentle smile.
Mu Ling fell silent for a while, holding back a question she longed to ask but couldn’t bring herself to voice.
The black mist that had transformed into long, dark chains earlier was all too familiar to her. She could see them clearly.
That dense black mist—the same one the Savior used when summoning and transporting people.
Mr. Profligate, what is your relationship with the Savior, exactly?
She gazed at Profligate, her mind racing.
All along, this senior had been shrouded in mystery. It seemed as if he held a transcendent position within the Babel Tower, perhaps even indicating a truly special connection with the Savior, if the stories were true.
Suddenly, Mu Ling recalled a black wizard known as the “Son of God,” Amicio. Could it be that the Profligate is actually a descendant of the Savior?
She was shocked by the thought!
Bai Yan, aware of Mu Ling’s inner musings, felt a slight awkwardness but didn’t address her wild theories.
Alan, unable to contain himself, spoke up, “You, I mean, senior, you really became so strong… That arrogant Head of Dark Night—you easily defeated him like that?”
Bai Yan smiled and shook his head.
“Wasn’t too bad, actually. This battle wasn’t easy… Hmm, if I had just stood still and let myself get hit, he might have had a chance to defeat me, I guess?”
Alan instantly recognized the tone—it was the language of Versailles.
Mu Ling sighed in frustration. If it weren’t for her presence, Alan would have surely earned a punch from him.
Bai Yan extended his hand, his mind contemplating the changes he had undergone.
He had become stronger—too strong, in fact.
Two quasi-divine powers, both at the peak of gifted abilities, combined with the numerous powerful blessings from the Babel Tower. Add to that the power to command operators…
Even Bai Yan wasn’t sure where his limits lay anymore.
At this point, Babel Tower had introduced magical creatures, or more accurately, it had introduced a new “Pokémon mode.”
Now, Bai Yan could manually use the power of “Connection and Domination” to capture extraordinaries and forcibly convert them into Non-core Operators.
This power was undeniably wicked. Anyone with a righteous heart might feel guilt or remorse if they used it extensively.
But Bai Yan’s moral compass was flexible, and so he didn’t feel any psychological pressure.
In fact, it was incredibly enjoyable!
Additionally, his other basic abilities tied to “Connection” had also received an enhancement. For example, he could now summon multiple incarnations—up to a second or even third incarnation.
Each of these “Bai Yans” was just as powerful as the original.
Bai Yan sensed that he could even communicate with his counterparts in parallel worlds. This was the power of “Connection.”
And his connection with the Babel Tower operators had deepened.
Whenever Bai Yan unleashed his special powers, he could clearly see that each operator had a dark chain wrapped around their neck.
Whether it was Mu Ling, Alan, or any other operator from Babel Tower, they all had one.
Bai Yan could even follow these dark chains, tracing the peculiar “connection” that allowed him to travel through worlds and time, instantly appearing beside those who were under his control.
The “Connection” power had received a tremendous boost.
It was clear that the gifted power of the “game” had undergone an enormous breakthrough.
At present, Bai Yan had the ability to turn everything in the world into a gamified environment.
It was like creating a dimension of games that fundamentally changed the rules governing everything.
In this “game world,” Bai Yan could do many unimaginable things.
For example, he could pause the game and—oh yes—spend real money.
Now, Bai Yan could directly convert the Source Energy Points of Babel Tower into his own combat power.
“Babel Tower” and the innate power of “the game” were interconnected.
It made sense upon reflection, as “Babel Tower” itself had been created by the Connector and the God of Games.
As long as Bai Yan activated “Vision Transmutation,” within a range close to the entire Air Alliance, anyone with supernatural abilities lower than his own would be forcibly transformed into part of the game.
While their strength wouldn’t actually weaken, most people weren’t as adept at adapting to the battle mode of the game world, which would leave them lost and bewildered.
It was a powerful and lethal first encounter.
“Now I can say it: the strongest person has joined the battle.”
“What just happened to you?”
This was the “Endless Treasures” dungeon—an island where gods hid their treasures.
Just a moment ago, Bai Yan, the Scarlet Moon, Slime, and Aurora had reached the peak of a mountain on the island. They had embarked on an adventure, overcoming challenges and claiming treasures. Their journey had been thrilling and perilous.
After completing the challenge, Bai Yan suddenly appeared absent-minded, lost in thought for a long time.
The Scarlet Moon, watching him closely, noticed his change in demeanor. Although she didn’t speak, Bai Yan felt her concern. She was genuinely worried about him.
“Have you reached the Apocalypse?”
The Scarlet Moon paused for a moment, stepping closer to him.
She sensed something unusual about Profligate—his aura had changed completely.
Bai Yan nodded, but before he could speak, the Scarlet Moon raised her fist.
“Okay.”
“Let me give it a try and see how strong your horns are.”
Without warning, the Scarlet Moon unleashed her crimson power, delivering a powerful punch.
Bai Yan, completely taken by surprise, never expected her to strike him. It seemed as though the punch had been planned and carried a deep, long-held intention.
Normally, she’d be worried about Bai Yan being too fragile. She’d hesitate to strike him for fear of causing trouble. But now, after gaining his horns, things were different.
The aura of a Crown-level transcendent could be projected outward, and the horns of the Apocalypse were formed by this very aura. The stronger the aura, the more powerful the horns of those with purer character.
The Scarlet Moon believed Bai Yan’s horns were sturdy enough that he couldn’t be killed.
“Boom!”
A tremendous roar shook the island, causing flocks of birds to take flight.
A radiant glow enveloped Bai Yan’s body, shining with silver-black radiance. The crimson blood instantly dissipated.
He realized, with a sigh of relief, that he hadn’t been harmed.
“Strange,”
The Scarlet Moon said, looking at her hands in wonder.
Her strike, though not made with full force, should have at least made him flinch.
Even though he had recently ascended to the rank of Apocalypse, the Scarlet Moon sensed something unimaginable. She couldn’t even break through his outer aura unless she gave it her all.
And why did he have two completely different auras?
“You have so many doubts… I can’t understand,” the Scarlet Moon said, shaking her head lightly.
Bai Yan smiled gently, his expression calm.
“The joke just now wasn’t funny at all, Scarlet Moon. For five days, you are not allowed to draw blood.”
“What did you say!”
The Scarlet Moon’s fury flared. She wanted to break him into pieces. Three days had already been her limit, and five seemed unimaginable.
Yet, Bai Yan completely ignored her murderous aura.
“Do not lay a hand on me again.” He gave her a soul-level command.
Turning to Aurora and the slime, who were studying the newly acquired treasure, he calmly addressed the situation.
Aurora was preventing the slime from devouring the treasure.
“This is not edible.”
Aurora explained sternly, but the slime played dumb, stretching out its tentacles to bind Aurora and quickly snatch the treasure.
“If you dare to swallow it, I will cut open your belly and take it out.”
Bai Yan’s voice rang out calmly, even with a hint of tenderness.
The slime immediately surrendered the treasure.
“Gurgle.”
Its face showed an awkward yet polite expression.
Bai Yan sighed as he looked at the object in his hand.
The newly obtained treasure was incredibly important.
A gleaming object resembling a miniature sun, surrounded by countless golden particles, gently rotating around it.
Mini Heaven.
An object that could contain disembodied souls.
Even souls that had already journeyed to the Soul Dimension could be summoned to Mini Heaven, provided a specific ritual was performed and the souls didn’t strongly resist.
Mini Heaven was a tiny space, but its inner space rivaled that of the vast, nearly boundless paradise of Noah himself.
As long as Bai Yan spent a certain amount of Source Energy Points, he could revive the souls within Mini Heaven—or even elevate them into heavenly beings.
He sighed, thinking, Finally, the people who had passed away could come back to life…
With the possession of Mini Heaven, the cost of resurrecting Core Operators would be greatly reduced.
It was a treasure that could change everything.
From that day on, the Babel Tower’s population and power would rise significantly, and they would no longer fear ordinary death.
Bai Yan stored the Mini Heaven and spoke, “The last treasure requires many people to obtain. Aurora, it’s time for your knight order to prove its worth.”
The number of people would be essential to acquire the final treasure.
Without Aurora, Bai Yan knew he would never have been able to obtain it.
Aurora, having broken free, nodded.
“I will fulfill my mission, just like my knight comrades.”
She stepped back, distancing herself from the slime.
The slime, feeling rejected, sighed.
On the journey to the new destination, Bai Yan remained silent, calmly observing the updates to the Babel Tower.
The new version had undergone significant changes—changes just as profound as the Tower itself.
