Chapter 485: The Enormous Babel Tower
The Scarlet Moon had seen her power grow exponentially on multiple occasions. She had become accustomed to the constant twists and turns in her journey.
Unless something unimaginable happened—like suddenly becoming a deity—nothing she encountered could shake her resolve.
However, the gratitude she expressed was genuine. She had never imagined that one day she could come so close to divinity. Only two more steps, and she would reach the highest, unimaginable realm, one that had never even been dreamed of.
Throughout history, many powerful beings had risen in the Apocalypse, but only a select few had managed to ascend to godhood.
Yet, after a year filled with miracles, the Scarlet Moon felt a newfound confidence. She truly believed she was capable of anything now.
The fate of the world might just lie in her hands.
As a member of the Babel Tower, she could see that with the help of the Savior of Babel Tower, it might actually be possible to achieve what extraordinary beings had always dreamed of: reaching the realm of gods.
Godhood. That was the realm of immortality, where true gods saw extraordinary beings as no different from ordinary mortals.
“A year ago, no one even thought this possible,” the Scarlet Moon chuckled to herself. “Now, even the realm of gods is something we dare to hope for.”
It was greed, pure and simple.
She shook her head. In reality, she didn’t desire to become a god. But becoming powerful, that was something she could aspire to.
The question now was: How powerful did one need to be to truly help the Babel Tower?
Inside the Babel Tower, everyone was a companion. They shared glory and suffered losses together.
The Scarlet Moon knew that, aside from the mysterious “Keeper of Secrets” and the elusive “Profligate,” she was the strongest. She felt it was her responsibility to carry the weight of it all.

Meanwhile, in the flower shop, Nian could feel an overwhelming presence, one that filled the air with power. The sky lit up with a crimson glow, and for a brief moment, she thought the entire city was erupting.
What was happening?
She blinked, surprised, as she tightly clenched her hand.
Since yesterday, every resident of the Giant Hive had been marked with Babel Tower symbols. It was mandatory.
Nian felt that the thoughts and emotions of the crowd were being gathered by Babel Tower, much like how an Almighty would collect the power of belief.
All she could do now was pray. She hoped the Savior of Babel Tower would have mercy on the city’s over one hundred million residents, who were all now part of this “hive.”
Nian recalled the decision made at the Babel Tower meeting—they would use the lifespans of the city’s inhabitants as fuel. That was the way of the Babel Tower.
In the end, for the ultimate goal of saving the world, anyone could be sacrificed. Everyone, except for the Savior.
Taking a deep breath, Nian shook her head, trying to suppress her doubts. She had no choice but to trust the Babel Tower and the Savior.
She began to fiddle with a black bracelet. It was called the “Cybertyrant,” a device Amy had obtained. It had once been popular in Ring City. In simple terms, it was an upgraded version of a “phone” but with many more features.
This device was for those who hadn’t undergone physical modifications. It served as a transitional tool for the residents of Ring City.
Amy and her brother, along with the Ring City residents, had embedded chips into their bodies, allowing them to use retinal scans and connect their minds directly to the network.
These wristbands were designed for those from outside Ring City, like Nian.
It was time. Nian logged into the network using her black wristband and connected to the Babel Tower forum controlled by the Cybertyrant.
The Babel Tower forum had expanded greatly over time.
It was divided into three layers by Amy, the Cybertyrant. The innermost layer was for the core members of Babel Tower, a private space for exclusive discussions, along with access to the top-level database.
In this database, one could find nearly anything, including top-secret information that the world didn’t know. Amy’s “tyrannical” power in the cyber world ensured that no secret was beyond her reach.
The second layer was for the non-core operators of Babel Tower. These members had access to conversations on the second and third floors of the forum. A few members, chosen by Amy, served as administrators.
Administrators could oversee communication between the members on both the second and third floors. There was also a secondary database for the non-core operators, offering ordinary data and non-top-secret information.
Then, there was the third level—open to all members of Babel Tower. Here, anyone could communicate freely and access a third-level database, where they could search for general information.
Over time, Babel Tower had transformed. Once a mysterious organization, it now seemed more like a colossal entity.
The major families of Tatsumi City, the Scarlet Blood Clan, sinners, Omnics, some clone humans, and the rebel forces of the Giant Hive were all now ordinary members of Babel Tower.
The numbers had swelled to tens of thousands.
Only Core Operators or non-core Operators personally developed by Bai Yan or Babel Tower had small groups, no more than dozens of individuals.
In the span of just over a year, many non-core Operators and regular members had lost their lives. But Bai Yan had faithfully kept track of their names, hoping that one day, they could be revived.
This small wish resided deep in Bai Yan’s heart.
—
In the Night Union, Ring City.
“Bang!”
A Trait bullet hit the leg of the Alloy Wolf Man, tearing through it, leaving a gory hole in its wake. His once fearsome visage twisted in agony.
“Ah!”
The wolf man, whose body was seventy percent mechanical, began to howl. His pain receptors, once deactivated, were now forcefully reactivated.
“Thank you, Cybertyrant,” Old Mike muttered, speaking through the forum to someone.
In an abandoned, gloomy factory, Old Mike interrogated high-ranking members of “Siskin.”
The tall Alloy Wolf Man, towering over two meters, was bound to an iron pillar. His limbs had been cruelly broken, blood flowing endlessly from his body.
But his body had been heavily modified. Despite the blood loss, he would not easily perish. The pain, however, was unbearable.
He wasn’t afraid of interrogation, but he never expected that his captors would hack into his prosthetic body and reactivate his pain receptors.
“After more than a month, I finally found you, Siskin’s ‘Alloy Wolf,'” Old Mike said calmly, his arm transforming into a dark firearm. “Tell me, why do you want to kill me? And why target my child?”
He was not afraid of dying, but his granddaughter was another matter. That was unforgivable.
“Hehe, give up. You’ll never find the truth. Even if you dig into my mind, there’s no data you need. My memories only exist in my heart!”
Blood filled the Alloy Wolf’s mouth, but he still refused to surrender.
“In fact,” Old Mike said suddenly, “I know a powerful being from the Apocalypse level. She specializes in the power of the mind.”
“And she will be here soon.”
“What? Then why were you interrogating me?” The Alloy Wolf couldn’t believe it. If they really knew about this being, why not use her to get the information?
“I just wanted to torment you, you fool,” Old Mike replied calmly, his eyes devoid of emotion. “Cybertyrant, increase his pain sensory receiver by ten times, then twenty, fifty, and finally a hundred times.”
The Alloy Wolf watched him, expressionless, as fear overtook him.
“I’ve heard people can die from pain, but with your body, you may be able to withstand it… We won’t know for sure until we try.”
