Chapter 434: The Final Act (Part 1)

Tatsumi City.

White Tower.

Deep within the underground chambers of this towering structure, three levels of specially enchanted prisons house an array of extraordinary criminals.

However, only those beneath the Crown level are held in these cells. Those who ascend to the Crown level, however, receive a different kind of “special attention.” These individuals are placed inside the “Divine Tower,” where they are confined in a way that fits their strength.

At this moment, Shi Nianyu had already arrived at her own tower. She was clad in a white evening gown, her silver high heels echoing softly as she walked, her stunning beauty and mature demeanor captivating.

The lights were dim as she entered a rather plain hotel room, the soft click of her heels on the red carpet the only sound.

The “Divine Tower” was no more than an extension of Shi Nianyu’s innate power, a space she could manipulate at will. She could change the appearance of any building or object within the tower’s domain. Some heinous criminals were confined to the deepest, most tormenting sections of this space, their suffering manipulated at her whim.

Meanwhile, beings like Yuling were confined to more pleasant surroundings, like the one she found herself in now.

“You can go now,” Shi Nianyu spoke softly as she entered the room.

“Can I… can I go now?” Yuling’s voice trembled. She sat on a white chair, her slender ankles crossed, hands wrapped around her knees, gazing downward.

Shi Nianyu nodded. “Yes. The investigation is over. You didn’t harm anyone back then. You were only here out of a sense of justice… and, of course, there’s another reason you’re free to go so soon—your father’s plea.”

“Father…” Yuling closed her eyes, clutching her teeth in sorrow. “I’m sorry for him.”

In that moment, Yuling understood that her mistake was significant. She had even been accused of betraying the Air Alliance.

Shi Nianyu paused, reflecting for a moment before continuing, “Now that the truth is clear, everyone knows the Steel Throne was the true traitor, and you were all just pawns… Don’t blame yourself too much.”

At that time, it was unclear whether Nullify’s intentions were deliberate or not. It seemed they thought victory was within reach, revealing the betrayal of the Steel Throne without hesitation. When the white shadowy figure was destroyed by the Savior of Babel Tower, the lines between right and wrong were drawn.

Many manipulated individuals struggled to comprehend the truth. Some fled in shame after killing; others surrendered themselves; some overwhelmed by guilt even took their own lives. Yuling was among those who voluntarily admitted their mistakes and allowed themselves to be captured.

Though she was willing to face any punishment, none came. For, as Shi Nianyu had said, Yuling had no criminal record. She had simply been caught up in the chaos of that day.

Alone, Yuling walked out of the White Tower. There was no family member waiting to greet her. Her head was down at first, but slowly she lifted it. Above, she saw the golden palace still floating in the sky—the palace of the Savior of Babel Tower.

She had witnessed a miracle.

The Savior was magnificent, vanquishing countless formidable foes in the blink of an eye. Mysterious, the Savior appeared for only a few minutes before vanishing, but during that short time, he had healed Yuling’s injuries and restored Tatsumi City.

These moments would remain with her for the rest of her life.

“In the future, I will spread the greatness of the Babel Tower and the Savior to those around me, to atone for my mistakes.”

After parting ways with Yuling, Shi Nianyu made her way to a room on the highest level of the White Tower.

The room was vast, bathed in white light. Two figures sat on a light-colored sofa: Mr. Xia and Alan.

“In a little while, just speak plainly. If you go too formal, it’ll make everyone uncomfortable,” Mr. Xia advised.

He nodded to Shi Nianyu, signaling his readiness. Alan took a deep breath and stood. With respect, he addressed Shi Nianyu, saying, “Hello, Miss Shi.”

“Call me Sister Shi from now on,” Shi Nianyu smiled warmly.

“Um, Sister Shi.” Alan paused, then nodded in understanding, a smile forming on his face.

Mr. Xia was the first to leave the room, and Alan followed. Shi Nianyu walked with them, speaking as they moved.

“From now on, our collaboration with Babel Tower will become even closer. We’ll work together to protect the Air Alliance and the Noah World from external threats. And, if the fate of different nations must be decided, our Imperial Guards will naturally prioritize protecting the Air Alliance.”

“I understand the importance of safeguarding the World,” Alan said, nodding. “That’s why I…”

“We’ve arrived,” Mr. Xia interrupted, arriving at the door to the meeting room.

Alan took a deep breath and stepped inside, where the members of the Air Alliance awaited: North, the embodiment of “Justice”; the White Lion, the symbol of “Power”; Alice, the “Pope”; and others, excluding the Emperor’s Imperial Guards.

Alan spoke plainly, “Starting today, I’ll be transferred from the Demon Hunt General Agency’s Sword-wielding Troop to the Imperial Guards. I will stand among you.”

He paused briefly before continuing, “I am a magician.”

The street had always been a gathering place for the Tatsumi City blood clan.

“You all know that I am a member of Babel Tower,” the Scarlet Moon, sitting upon the highest seat in the crimson hall, calmly addressed the gathered kin below.

“Hmm,” she huffed, her thoughts lingering.

If only that Profligate fellow would kneel here. How wonderful it would be.

But she understood more about that person now.

He would never kneel—no matter the cost, he would never bow. That, in some ways, was quite similar to herself. Their pride was too great, their dignity too heavy to abandon so easily.

At that moment, Marquis Scarlet, the closest member to the Scarlet Moon, knelt in silence before speaking up.

“Forgive me, Your Highness Scarlet Moon,” he began hesitantly.

He struggled with his words, but finally, he pressed on. “Are you still thinking that the Savior of Babel Tower is your master?”

Silence followed.

The air was heavy with quiet contemplation. Even the Scarlet Moon remained silent for a long time. Then, a wave of astonishment washed over her. Had she actually hesitated?

How could this be?

Was it not just a cooperative alliance with the Babel Tower? Just a temporary partnership?

“No one—no god—could ever be my master,” the Scarlet Moon said firmly, lifting her head with pride.

“I and the Babel Tower are merely working together.”

“I see,” said Marquis Scarlet, now understanding how best to approach the situation.

If the Scarlet Moon truly served the Savior, then their future alignment would naturally fall with Babel Tower.

“The Savior of Babel Tower,” someone murmured in awe.

It was a name that resonated deeply, echoing across the world. The Savior, the one who displayed miracles.

People had seen his power firsthand—his ability to directly intervene in the lives of those in the Noah World.

“If that is the case, is there anything we should do, Your Highness Scarlet Moon?” Marquis Scarlet asked.

The Scarlet Moon fell silent again, contemplating. Then, she said, “Prepare a portion of the Scarlet Blood Clan… to leave this world.”

On Tatsumi City Bridge, spring had arrived. The air was warmer now, no longer cold.

Maryse, dressed in a lovely pink and white dress, leaned against the bridge, her head tilted back, her eyes squinting as she gazed up at the sky.

“Mu Ling!” she suddenly called.

Mu Ling, wearing a white woolen sweater instead of her usual black attire, walked over. She looked stunning as she approached, her figure perfectly showcased by the sweater.

“We decided to meet here again,” Mu Ling smiled. “You really like this place.”

“By the way, Mu Ling, would you like to live with me in the future?” Maryse asked abruptly.

Mu Ling shook her head. “No

need. The Respected Savior

has already restored my

home.”

Maryse, not overthinking,

nodded. “Okay, but remember…

if you ever have nowhere to

go, I can take you in! Just

promise me you’ll play video

games with me every day!”

“Video games? I don’t

understand,” Mu Ling said,

frowning slightly. “What’s the

point of controlling ‘little

people’ in those games?”

“I think it’s fun!” Maryse

exclaimed. “Sometimes, I feel

like a hero, controlling them

however I want, hehehe!”

Maryse’s thoughts were

whimsical, jumping from one

idea to the next, leaving Mu

Ling bewildered.

“If this world is a game, then I

must be the strongest

character,” Maryse said,

grinning proudly.

“Perhaps,” Mu Ling replied,

gazing out at the ocean in the

distance, lost in her thoughts.

Maryse didn’t press her. She

knew Mu Ling’s mind was

clear, even without asking.

[Once again, the Savior came

to the rescue…]

[It must have been a burden for

him, a rule of the multi-

dimensional universe…]

[When will we finally stand

beside him, sharing his

burden?]

Maryse remained quiet for a

while before speaking.

“I think it’s better not to

overthink these things, Mu

Ling. Whether we can grow

stronger quickly depends on

the Savior’s gift. Worrying

won’t make us powerful

overnight.”

She knew that mastering these

powers would take time.

Effort was required.

She simply wanted to comfort

her friend, so she said, “Wait

with hope in your heart. One

day, you’ll be standing beside

the person who matters most

to you, sharing their burden.”

“Someday…” Maryse

murmured softly.
