Chapter 376: Tylor Civilization
The tall knight, a man with a bear-like appearance, knelt on the ground, stripped of any honor. His eyes were clouded, and his body drenched in blood.
Up until this moment, the white bear man had never chosen to reveal the truth.
Perhaps revealing the truth had no meaning.
The white bear man, Bernard, sank into deep thought.
“Why…” His voice was deep, filled with sadness and despair. “We, who have lost the protection of the gods, are so weak and vulnerable…”
Bernard fell silent, utterly lost and dispirited.
“Sir Bernard… please, tell me the truth… perhaps, there is still time to change everything. I know that a noble knight like you must have his reasons.”
“No, you don’t understand anything.”
Aurora felt a surge of frustration. “You don’t say anything, how could I possibly understand?” she retorted, almost infuriated. She hated his “mysterious” behavior.
No matter how much Aurora pleaded, scolded, or urged, she couldn’t bring back the spirit and faith that this knight, who had lost both, once held.
Aurora couldn’t understand. What hidden story could have made him this way?
Could it be… that they already knew the Light God had fallen?
It was possible that the Heavenly God Church was aware of the truth. Otherwise, Bernard wouldn’t have made such remarks.
Aurora furrowed her brows in deep thought.
But still, that didn’t explain everything. It didn’t explain the Decaying Disaster.
Suddenly, a thought struck her. Her eyebrows shot up as she asked coldly, “Sir Bernard, in all the years since the Decaying Disaster began, have all those who discovered clues to the truth been silenced by you?”
“Yes.”
Bernard didn’t deny it. Instead, he admitted it directly, his tone heavy with guilt. But there was no remorse in his voice. It was clear—he didn’t regret his actions.
“Curse it!” Aurora gritted her teeth, anger bubbling inside her. Her hands trembled as she fought to control her rage. She wanted nothing more than to impale the white bear man with her spear and end it all right there.
Those brave individuals—just like herself—had discovered the truth of the Decaying Disaster. They could have chosen to ignore it, but instead, they sought to bring it to light, hoping to save their loved ones, strangers, and their home.
But they were deceived, silenced, and crushed by the malicious actions of the Heavenly God Church!
Aurora, who had always disliked the Church, now felt a seething hatred burning within her.
“You’re unworthy to be called children of the gods!”
The white bear man stayed silent, trembling with fear.
Suddenly, a strange occurrence caught Aurora’s attention. Numerous bubbles appeared in the air around them. Her eyes widened in surprise.
One by one, enormous bubbles, each at least a meter in diameter, floated gently through the air. Inside these bubbles, terrified ordinary people were suspended, safe and unharmed.
Aurora and Bernard watched in stunned silence.
“Who did this?” Bernard murmured in amazement.
Soon, two figures emerged from the distance. Aurora recognized one as the Scarlet Moon, and the other as Mr. Moriarty—Profligate. She exhaled in relief.
Clearly, it was Profligate who had saved the innocents trapped here.
Aurora’s knights arrived shortly after, surrounding the area swiftly.
“Captain, what happened?” asked one of her assistants, his voice tinged with shock. Seeing their condition, he knew they had been through a battle.
The assistant’s gaze turned cold as he asked, “Captain, what’s going on? Isn’t he a high-ranking knight of the Heavenly God Church? Are our enemies from the Heavenly God Church?”
The knights surrounded the injured Bernard, their expressions cold. Even faced with a potential confrontation with the Heavenly God Church, they trusted Captain Aurora implicitly and recognized Bernard and the Church as enemies.
Aurora shook her head and remained silent, her gaze shifting toward Profligate and the Scarlet Moon.
They had come to her aid.
Aurora turned to Profligate and said, “This Knight Commander Bernard is hiding the truth. He knows something—perhaps even the full truth—but he’s unwilling to share.”
“I could tell he doesn’t want to speak,” Bai Yan, stepping out from the crowd, commented as he approached Aurora.
The white bear man, Knight Commander Bernard, spoke again, his voice low. “I will not speak of anything.”
“I know,” Bai Yan replied, nodding gently. A smile tugged at his lips.
In the next moment, he activated his psychic powers and delved into the hidden memories of the kneeling knight.
“Ah!” Bernard cried out in pain, his body trembling in resistance as his eyes slowly lost focus.
Psychic Dancers of the Potential Apocalypse level wield immense power, a tidal force not easily resisted.
“Aha, I see now…” Bai Yan muttered, as he sifted through the memories, realizing that the situation was far more complex than he had imagined.
The true troublemaker was not a cult, but rather a far more terrifying threat from another universe.
“Mr. Profligate, what do you see?” Aurora asked urgently, her curiosity overwhelming her. She had been searching for the truth of the Decaying Disaster for years, and now she was closer than ever.
Bai Yan took a deep breath, his mind racing. He had not anticipated such complexity. Turning to Aurora, he said, “Sacred Heart’s Chosen, take your knights and followers and leave the town. Head away from the royal city.”
Aurora paused before asking, “So… is His Majesty Silger, from the Heavenly God Church, one of the masterminds behind this?”
“No,” Bai Yan replied grimly. “Silger is already dead.”
“What?” Aurora and the knights were stunned. The ruler of the Holy Light Kingdom, and the leader of the Heavenly God Church, was dead?
“He took his own life,” Bernard’s voice came again, filled with despair.
He took his own life?
Aurora felt a wave of dizziness wash over her. The fear and despair surged from deep within her heart. What enemy could possibly have driven Silger, a half-god and the most powerful ruler of Zeuo, to end his own life?
“What… Why?” she asked, her voice barely a whisper.
Bai Yan locked eyes with Aurora. After a long pause, he spoke again, “Sacred Heart’s Chosen, what I’m about to say next is difficult to understand, but you need to hear it. The situation is far more complicated than you think.”
Bai Yan, now disguised as Viscount Edmond, returned to his home in Annottales.
Kaluoer, with her usual expressionless face, helped him change his clothes. The two of them, playing the roles of “master and servant,” lived together seamlessly in the estate.
Bai Yan had noticed something strange. Kaluoer, despite her lack of expression, had regained her emotions. She often played pranks on him, with no change in her stoic demeanor.
For instance, she once swapped out the tea leaves for mud, added cold water to his bath, and even stuffed frogs into her clothes just for fun. In their last adventure inside the Spirit of Dionysus’ domain, Kaluoer had dressed as a girl—another prank, of course.
Bai Yan had learned not to indulge her mischief. Every time she played a trick, he would respond, but she always remained unfazed by his reactions.
“Thank you, Kaluoer,” Bai Yan said after putting on his clothes, nodding to her in the full-length mirror.
“So, I’ll take my leave, sir,” she replied with a curtsy, before turning to leave.
Not long ago, Bai Yan had completed a mission on the Continent of Zeuo. He had escorted a group to the royal city and, through Bernard’s memories, uncovered the true nature of the Decaying Disaster. What he had discovered was far more complicated than he’d imagined.
The Decaying Disaster had not
been part of his mission, but
he knew it was the current
task.
In advance, Bai Yan had used
the enchantment of
“Mysterious Magic” to save
everyone. Then, through
Bernard’s memories, he had
learned the truth.
The Tylor civilization.
Aurora’s world had been colonized by them.
Tylor, a powerful giant
civilization, had long
discovered the weak
civilization of Zeuo. After the
fall of the Light God, Tylor’s
army invaded and defeated the
defenders of Zeuo, forcing the
Heavenly God Church to
spread the Decaying Disaster.
The Tylor civilization
demanded a resource from
Zeuo, and if the Church
refused to comply, they would
destroy the entire continent.
Reluctantly, the Heavenly God
Church submitted. In return,
Tylor promised to leave behind
10% of the population, as long
as they cooperated and
ceased any resistance.
And so, the Decaying Disaster
erupted.
The people of Zeuo were
sacrificed, their deaths
meaningless.
The truth was beyond Aurora’s
expectations.
Frozen in shock, Aurora quickly
composed herself and turned
to Mr. Profligate. This “Tylor”
civilization, one she had never
even heard of, had turned her
world upside down. How
powerful could they possibly
be?
She took a deep breath. “How
powerful are they? They must
be so formidable that even
Silger, the half-god, dared not
defy them!”
Bai Yan nodded gravely and
shared what he knew.
Tylor was far more powerful
than he had realized.
The Holy Light Kingdom, with a
population of just over five
million, was nothing compared
to Tylor’s population of over
fifty trillion.
Aurora felt her world spinning
as she tried to process the
information. She had never
imagined such an enemy.
Bai Yan also found it hard to
believe. From what he had
learned, Tylor wasn’t an empire
bent on conquest. They prided
themselves on peace and
inclusivity. So why had they
created the Decaying Disaster?
Perhaps their peace was
reserved for non-native
civilizations?
As the realization sank in, Bai
Yan turned to his phone,
opening the “Babel Tower”
game.
The introduction about Tylor
civilization appeared.
“Civilization: Tylor. Civilization
level index: 3175.”
Bai Yan knew one thing for
certain: Tylor was a
heavyweight presence in the
multiverse.
Aurora’s homeland had only
five million people, but Tylor
ruled over five trillion.
Aurora could barely fathom it.
Bai Yan murmured to himself,
“Anyway, there are people from
the Tylor civilization in the
Holy City of the Holy Light
Kingdom.”
And with that, he knew he had
to go there—or send someone
—to uncover the truth.
This was bigger than the Babel
Tower. The Decaying Disaster
had to end, and Bai Yan would
see it through.
“If we can gain something
from solving this, even better.”
Just then, a notification
appeared on his phone.
A new event had begun.
“Free Zeuo!”And
