Chapter 372: Civilization!
Bai Yan found himself in a new and unexpected dimension—the “otherworld” of “forces.”
Upon entering, he was immediately drawn to the flourishing civilization of Enos.
“Civilization: Enos”
(Admiration, Legendary)
Civilization Level Index: 287
Located on the Chien Continent and some nearby islands, Enos was a kingdom born from the efforts of a great explorer from the Andochels. Originally founded as a settlement for immigrants 853 years ago, it was later renamed Enos by the Lion King two hundred years later. The kingdom thrived through its advanced alchemy technology, outpacing other nations on the continent.
Thirty-one percent of its population was human, and it was ruled by the Queen of Crystal, who had successfully united the continent with the help of Babel Tower members, rising to the title of High King. Under her reign, Enos had invested heavily in alchemy for over three centuries.
“Transmission Loss (due to cosmic barriers): Babel Tower receives 30 legend points each day.”
What struck Bai Yan most was the drastic increase in Enos’ civilization level—from a mere 26 to 287. The civilization’s attitude had shifted from friendly fondness to deep admiration for the Babel Tower. Moreover, the daily legend points had risen from 10 to 30.
The flow of time in different worlds varied. While only a few months had passed in the Babel Tower’s timeline, over 300 years had passed in the Enos civilization. In such a long period, rapid development and change were inevitable, and it seemed that these changes were heading in a direction favorable to the Babel Tower.
And then, Bai Yan noticed something new—an option that hadn’t been there before.
“We can send Core Operators to complete daily and weekly missions.”
It was a simple, yet significant description, alongside a new option: “Send.”
Beyond Enos, there were other civilizations to explore within the “Civilizations” category. The Noah civilization and the Zeuo civilization were also available.
Bai Yan quickly examined them.
“Civilization: Zeuo”
(No Awareness)
Civilization Level Index: 49
The Zeuo civilization was located on the Continent of Zeuo, ruled by a divine dictatorship. The ‘Light God’ had created the native races nearly 40,000 years ago, and all intelligent races on the continent worshipped Him. They wielded powerful magical abilities, and the church controlled divine weapons. The Zeuo people had suffered a Decaying Disaster, which had wiped out a third of their population.
“Transmission Loss (due to cosmic barriers): Babel Tower receives 1 legend point each day.”
This was the world where “Sacred Heart’s Chosen” Aurora resided—a world once prosperous, now teetering on the brink of chaos.
Bai Yan couldn’t help but feel a sense of urgency. He hoped that the World Tree would fulfill its purpose, and that the Babel Tower could somehow save Aurora’s world along with it.
“After all, I’ve had my share of meals from the Light God… And I did manage to persuade His goddaughter to help look after our household… Strange how I say that now.”
Bai Yan mused to himself, deep in thought.
His attention then shifted to the Noah civilization.
The civilizations were represented by nebulae, and the nebula of Noah was much larger than the others. This could mean that Noah’s influence across the universe was vast.
“Civilization: Noah”
(Hesitant, Legendary)
Civilization Level Index: 529
The world of Noah spread across 27 otherworldly colonies, each governed independently. Nine thousand seven hundred and ninety-five years ago, various leaders brought their races to the present world under the banners of the Heart of Radiance, the Steel Throne, and the Fate’s Strings Master. Most of Noah’s intelligent races believed in the ‘Rainbow’ and possessed formidable magical abilities. They also enjoyed significant technological advancement. The human race made up 81% of the population.
“The Babel Tower is the current main world.”
Bai Yan found that he could deploy a Core Operator to this civilization, though the available daily and weekly missions remained unchanged from before.
This was different from the first playthrough. Back then, the mission list had been fully replaced with new ones, and no tasks could be done within Babel Tower. But in this second playthrough, players had the freedom to choose which world’s missions they wanted to pursue.
Curious, Bai Yan opened the list of Core Operators. He wasn’t in a rush to deploy any of them yet, choosing instead to check on their current activities.
“The Chronicles of Core Operator ‘Sacred Heart’s Chosen'”
“Defeated a powerful magical creature, but felt sorrow upon learning it had once been a noble warrior.”
“Saved the children of the village and brought them back to the resting place of their knight group. Mood +1.”
Aurora, the “Sacred Heart’s Chosen,” had been striving to save her world. Finally, Bai Yan could send one of Babel Tower’s Core Operators to assist her in her mission.
“Intelligence Log of Core Operator ‘Sword of Demons'”
“Deep in slumber…”
“Would the sword of all evil in the world dream of the dreadful Outer God?”
Bai Yan wondered how long the “mushroom” would sleep this time. The Babel Tower had provided him with these logs, but the true nature of the Tower, and whether it had its own will, remained a mystery.
“A trace of divinity from Dionysus… That would be a great blessing for you. This divinity is incredibly precious, so it must be cherished.”
“Core Operator ‘The Final Gun’ Information Log”
“In the safety house, organized information and familiarized with newly acquired power. Skill increased by 1.”
“Investigated the details about ‘Siskin,’ questioning multiple criminals. Mood +2.”
The increase in mood was certainly unusual. Bai Yan didn’t know how to critique this, but he understood that Old Mike had been under considerable pressure lately.
“Core Operator ‘Hidden Azure’s’ Information Log”
“Prepared a nice afternoon tea for the master and got the bath ready, but the master didn’t return.”
“The sister, unwilling to take a sudden bath together, hid in the dimension of nothingness.”
Kaluoer’s mood remained unchanged throughout the day—just as Bai Yan had expected.
Flipping through the numerous intelligence logs, Bai Yan realized something. Babel Tower now had a sufficient number of Core Operators.
In the coming days, the focus would shift to “Different Dimensions.” A quick visit to the “Fate” pool was also on the agenda. Summoning new Core Operators wouldn’t immediately improve the Tower, but it would certainly offer new possibilities.
With that in mind, Bai Yan made his decision.
He would send a Core Operator to the Zeuo civilization to complete the new weekly mission. The next step in the Tower’s evolution had begun.
