Chapter 330: Tatsumi City’s Shiniest Jewel!

Inside the Babel Tower

Inside the vast Crystal Palace, Bai Yan, the “Savior,” sat on the Crystal Throne, dressed in a black robe. A subtle excitement played across his face as he engaged in a game.

The game was none other than Babel Tower.

At this moment, the first-level boss of the new adventure, “Dark Night Lost City,” had appeared.

This creature was massive, its deep blue body enormous and unsettling. Six long, scythe-like arms jutted out, sharp and menacing. Its body, resembling the wriggling form of a gut-dwelling creature, featured terrifying giant mouths at both ends, filled with sharp teeth.

The creature worshiped the Outer God “Eternal Nightmare King.”

Its name: Chilnoth.

Born from countless nightmares, Chilnoth existed in a dream realm and could invade the real world through nightmares. Its actual shape and powers depended on the nature of the nightmares that allowed it entry.

Historically, the most powerful Chilnoth was a demigod-level being, capable of destroying entire countries. However, not all Chilnoths were so terrifying. Some were harmless, even taking on the form of delicate, celestial beings with sharp intellects.

A strange historical novel once circulated during Noah’s time about a human marrying a Chilnoth transformed into a frail young girl. Though it seemed unbelievable, Bai Yan had read about it in the library of the Demon Hunt Agency. In reality, after revealing her true form, the Chilnoth distanced herself from her family and vanished.

But this Chilnoth, with six scythe-like arms, was far from a frail young girl. It was a true monster.

Inside the game, players scattered around the creature, fleeing in panic as the monster’s long arms lashed out, attacking innocent civilians.

In the Deep Blue World, Bai Yan immediately froze time, controlling his character, Nightsaber, to charge forward. With a swift swing of the Imperial Light Execution, he severed one of the monster’s arms—effortlessly.

The creature tried to counterattack, but Bai Yan’s reactions were quicker. He easily dodged its strikes, with Nightsaber dashing across the screen like a blur, delivering devastating blows.

Each strike from Nightsaber cut deeply into the monster’s health, and the creature, unable to defend itself, continued to lose limbs and bleed heavily.

The power and magnificence of Nightsaber’s attacks made the battle visually stunning, and with each swing, the monster’s health bar dropped dramatically.

Chilnoth was resilient, able to quickly recover its health, but against Nightsaber, it couldn’t sustain its strength.

Bai Yan continued his progress through the Deep Blue World, carefully analyzing each moment. He froze time again for five seconds, during which Nightsaber launched a series of powerful combos.

By the time time resumed, the monster was defeated, its body crumbling into nothingness with a dramatic crash.

“The first level’s little boss was indeed very easy,” Bai Yan remarked, unimpressed.

Before the First Doomsday Crisis, characters in Babel Tower were already adept at dealing with enemies. It was the Doomsday Crisis storyline that brought the true challenge.

“Babel Tower,” ultimately, was a game that could snowball. Before embarking on the second major mission, the Doomsday Crisis, Bai Yan knew that battles would become progressively easier.

“Let’s continue.”

Tatsumi City

After the arrival of the Leaf King and his Imperial Guards in Tatsumi City, they used their incredible powers to swiftly rebuild the city. The citizens, in turn, were won over by their strength, admiration filling their hearts.

The Leaf King, now the newly appointed leader of the Air Alliance, returned to his residence. To mark the occasion, he held a grand banquet for the five leading families of the city and the upper-class nobles.

All the major families were in attendance, and no one dared disrespect the Leaf King. Not only was he the true master of Tatsumi City, but he also held the highest position within the Air Alliance.

However, the five great families felt immense psychological pressure. There was one secret they all shared—a secret about Babel Tower.

The Leaf King’s residence was not overly grand but reflected a sophisticated blend of Western and Eastern architecture. Its furnishings, refurbished with taste, added to the home’s prestige.

A massive chandelier descended from the fourth floor to the grand hall below, where guests mingled, exchanging toasts and conversation.

Among the attendees was Lady Helen, Sylve’s mother. She was surprised and honored to receive an invitation from the Leaf King. Her family was small, relatively unknown, so how could they possibly have caught his attention?

Standing in the hall, Helen couldn’t shake the feeling of unease. She wondered if the Leaf King had other motives.

“Is this Miss Helen?”

A tall lady in a blue evening gown and a black shawl approached, radiating elegance and beauty. She introduced herself with a smile.

“I am Shi Nianyu, also known as ‘Tower,’ a member of the Imperial Guards of the Eyes of the Empire. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Miss Helen.”

Helen, unsure, responded, “Hello, Miss Shi. I’ve always admired the Imperial Guards. It’s because of your presence that we have the Air Alliance today and in the future.”

Shi Nianyu smiled graciously. “Some might prefer the Imperial Guards not continue to exist.”

Her smile remained unchanged as she continued, “Miss Helen, do you know about the giant strange tree near your house? I’d appreciate it if you could share any information.”

Helen sighed. She remembered Mr. Moriarty’s instructions. She could only reveal what she had reported to the Demon Hunt Agency.

“I’ve already submitted the details to the Demon Hunt Agency. However, if you’d like, I can share them again,” Helen replied.

Shi Nianyu glanced at the nearby Demon Hunt Agency representatives before responding with a soft smile. “Actually, we’re not affiliated with the Demon Hunt Agency. I’d appreciate it if you could tell me the situation again.”

Just then, the crowd grew excited.

“You see! She has arrived!”

“The shining gem of Tatsumi City! The most beautiful pearl!”

“An angelic beauty, like a dream…”

Everyone turned their attention to a girl entering the venue, her golden hair and gem-like eyes glowing with an innocent radiance. She blushed shyly, lowering her head as if too timid to meet anyone’s gaze.

At that moment, it felt as though she had stolen everyone’s heart.

“Oh, how beautiful… the little angel of the Augustus family, Maryse.”

Shi Nianyu, taken aback by the sudden attention Maryse received, observed how the crowd’s focus shifted from her to the young girl.

Maryse, pleased with the attention, smiled inwardly, her angelic persona perfectly in place. But as she glanced around, she realized her true dilemma.

Though she was considered an adult in the eyes of law and experience, her appearance and demeanor were more suited for a children’s party. The years of isolation had shielded her from such social pressures.

Now, as she rejoined society, awkwardness weighed on her.

“Ah,” her older brother, Phoenix,

sighed as he watched. “You all

don’t know how terrifying she

is.”

Maryse, appearing shy,

blushed and averted her gaze,

pretending to be the perfect

angel. Meanwhile, Phoenix’s

expression showed clear signs

of frustration.

Suddenly, everyone’s attention

shifted again.

“Mr. Phoenix, Ms. Maryse,

welcome to our place.”

The Leaf King had arrived, his

presence commanding the

room. His slender but

confident frame exuded grace,

and he approached the

siblings with a smile.

Compared to the imperial

might of the Air Alliance,

beauty was trivial. The core

members of the five great

families were accustomed to

the Leaf King’s personal

greeting, given the historical

ties between their ancestors.

“I’m going to the bathroom for

a moment!”

Maryse, glancing at her

brother, suddenly turned and

walked away, her silver heels

clicking on the floor.

“Hey, Maryse!” Phoenix called

after her, clearly displeased.

What was going on?

Maryse, in her mind, heard a

voice:

[Psychic Dancer…]

Continue to fight for the

survival of the world…

Destiny has already chosen

you…

Her heart sank as she walked away.

Confused glances followed

Maryse as she hurried toward

the restroom. Phoenix,

resigned, turned to the Leaf

King.

“Mr. Phoenix, long time no see.

Is your sister unwell?”

“Hmm, indeed.”
