Chapter 284: The Unbeatable Enemy!
Mu Ling was utterly astonished.
How is the Head of Destruction’s body so incredibly resilient?
Its durability was beyond comprehension. Despite her immense destructive power, few in Noah’s world could withstand her attacks without suffering harm. Yet her strikes were entirely ineffective against this foe!
A mere flesh-and-blood body shouldn’t have such extraordinary defense.
“Is this the extent of the King of Deep Blue’s power?” she wondered.
The Head of Destruction twisted its terrifying skull-like head before suddenly reaching out its withered, skeletal hand toward Mu Ling, who was still airborne.
Mu Ling instinctively tried to evade, but her opponent’s speed was overwhelming.
So fast!
In the blink of an eye, her body was tightly grasped.
“Little bug, meet your end,” the Head of Destruction hissed, its voice hoarse and spine-chilling.
An intense, malevolent aura emanated from the creature, radiating unimaginable ferocity.
What is this power?
Mu Ling could feel her skin changing as though some sinister energy was eroding her body.
This is dangerous!
Her internal system screamed a desperate warning: escape now, or perish!
Acting on pure instinct, she dove into the dark dimension. The world turned to utter blackness, and when she emerged back into reality, she was a hundred meters away.
But the Head of Destruction was relentless.
Mu Ling looked back in shock, realizing the massive creature was moving far faster than she anticipated. Its colossal frame closed the distance with unnerving ease, giving her no chance to breathe.
How can its speed, strength, and defense be so overwhelming?
“There must be a reason,” she thought, narrowing her eyes.
The Head of Destruction raised its hammer, preparing to strike again.
Die!
One blow from that hammer could obliterate her. Desperately, Mu Ling retreated into the dark dimension once more.
This tactic bought her time, but it wasn’t a permanent solution. She could only stay in the dark realm briefly before returning to reality.
When she reappeared, the Head of Destruction’s attacks resumed, relentless as ever.
The hammer crashed down, and a fiery red streak cut through the air like a comet.
It was the Scarlet Moon.
With her fists wreathed in the power of scarlet blood, she unleashed a devastating punch that forced the Head of Destruction back. For the first time, its enormous body wavered, and dark, viscous blood seeped from beneath its crimson robes.
The attack had worked!
Mu Ling’s eyes lit up with hope as she saw the Scarlet Moon’s power take effect.
Standing tall and composed, the Scarlet Moon gathered her energy again, the crimson glow surrounding her like a radiant aura.
“It’s you who will perish,” she declared.
“Laughable!”
With a cold sneer, the Head of Destruction’s injuries healed instantly. In the blink of an eye, it was as if no damage had ever been done. Raising its hammer once more, it swung at the Scarlet Moon with terrifying force.
Too fast!
The Scarlet Moon tried to dodge, but the attack was unstoppable. The scarlet energy in her hands shattered upon impact, leaving her vulnerable.
At that critical moment, Mu Ling, using her ability to manipulate time, darted forward. With a swift swing of the Heart of Death hammer, she altered the trajectory of the Head of Destruction’s strike.
Time seemed to freeze for a moment. Mu Ling took the opportunity to launch another attack, but her silver teeth clenched in frustration as she realized her strikes couldn’t penetrate its defenses.
When time resumed, the redirected black hammer struck the ground with catastrophic force.
Crash!
The earth cracked open, revealing a gaping hole. The entire palace trembled under the weight of the attack, its structure groaning in protest.
Amid the chaos, Mu Ling heard a voice—familiar and comforting.
It was the voice of the Savior.
The sound brought warmth and hope, dispelling her fear and filling her with newfound determination.
“I understand now,” she said, taking a deep breath. Turning to the Scarlet Moon, she explained, “The Savior has revealed the truth to me.”
She continued, “The Head of Destruction’s power lies in its ability to manipulate matter. It can alter the properties of objects, even air. If it touches us for more than a second, our bodies will turn into air, and we’ll die. It can also transform itself into gas for speed or into an even tougher material for defense.”
The Scarlet Moon frowned, deep in thought. The ability to manipulate matter at will was indeed formidable—deadly even.
“Hahaha! Your pitiful tricks are worthless!” the Head of Destruction roared, its voice echoing menacingly through the crumbling palace.
Even though the attack missed its target, the Head of Destruction erupted into maniacal laughter.
He swung the iron hammer repeatedly, delivering terrifying, earth-shaking blows.
Meanwhile, his withered idle hand glided eerily through the air.
In the next moment, the atmosphere grew heavy.
Transformation of matter!
In no time, a substantial amount of liquid-like, pitch-black metal materialized before the Head of Destruction. Instantly, it surged forward, enveloping the bodies of Mu Ling and the Scarlet Moon. The metal shifted from liquid to solid, completely imprisoning the two within its grasp.
Inside the enormous black metal sphere, only their heads remained exposed, while the rest of their bodies were tightly encased in several meters of dense, pitch-black metal.
Mu Ling, momentarily stunned, hadn’t expected such a use of abilities. She quickly ventured back into the dark dimension, leaving the Scarlet Moon trapped within the metallic prison.
The hardness of this strange metal far surpassed steel. Clearly, it was a substance alien to Noah’s world.
The Scarlet Moon gritted her teeth, struggling to exert any force in her confined position. Despite this, she managed to create small cracks on the giant sphere.
“Die!”
The Head of Destruction didn’t wait for her to break free. Instead, he swung his massive hammer down, aiming to crush the Scarlet Moon’s head.
Even with her immense power, the Scarlet Moon couldn’t instantly shatter the several meters of solid metal.
At that critical moment,
The Scarlet Moon felt an overwhelming surge of energy welling up from within her.
So, it has come again.
Have you bestowed your ‘gift’ upon me once more?
[Queen of the Scarlet Moon, this is the potential you’ve always possessed.]
Her heart grew calm—or rather, devoid of all emotion.
Even the thirst for blood vanished temporarily.
Her black eyeshadow deepened, her gaze turned cold and distant, and her breathtakingly beautiful face became adorned with a haunting allure. Her evening gown, a blend of black and red, shimmered elegantly, complemented by exquisite black diamond earrings.
The indolent Blood Demon Queen extended her hand effortlessly, forcing it through the confines of the metal sphere, ready to catch the descending hammer’s impact.
“Boom!”
However, the sheer strength of the Head of Destruction proved too immense.
In the next instant, both she and the entire metal sphere were smashed into the ground.
The palace trembled violently.
“Hahaha! Excellent! You’ve grown stronger! Now it will be even more thrilling to destroy you!”
The Head of Destruction’s wild laughter echoed with terror and delight.
Just then, a sudden neigh pierced the air.
A unicorn? Here?
The Head of Destruction turned, his gaze falling upon a striking girl with pitch-black hair—but something about her had completely changed.
Dressed in a pristine white tuxedo, her sleek, short black hair glistened under the faint light.
Mu Ling, astride a snow-white unicorn, exuded the aura of a noble flower in bloom. In her hand, a pure white knight’s sword materialized, gleaming with radiant light.
The Head of Destruction sneered, his voice dripping with disdain.
“What is this? Can you all transform? Is Babel Tower’s Savior merely dressing up his dolls for amusement?”
Mu Ling’s voice turned icy as she retorted,
“He granted us the power to destroy beings as vile as you!”
Without hesitation, she raised the knight’s sword high.
The dim underground palace suddenly erupted in light!
Darkness was utterly dispelled.
Behind Mu Ling, an immense Rainbow appeared, majestic and awe-inspiring.
Even the Head of Destruction fell silent in the presence of such magnificent energy.
Mu Ling’s voice rang out, powerful and resolute:
“Oh, light and Rainbow, grant me the strength to seal away this evil!”
A towering Rainbow shot forth from her sword. Though it lacked destructive force, it instantly crystallized into an impenetrable prison around the Head of Destruction.
Before long, his massive body was completely encased within a radiant crystal.
“Phew, is it over?”
Mu Ling, weary from the exertion of her abilities, took deep, steadying breaths.
The Scarlet Moon leapt out of the enormous pit, shaking her head grimly.
“Not yet.”
“Crack.”
Small fractures began to spider across the crystal, spreading rapidly.
The Head of Destruction grinned maniacally as the cracks grew deeper.
Unstoppable.
Uncontrollable.
Absolute evil was breaking free.
“Boom!”
The Head of Destruction erupted from the crystal, roaring triumphantly.
“They are coming!” he bellowed.
“The legion has arrived—you have no hope left!”

Meanwhile, Bai Yan had already made his way inside the palace gates.
The ground trembled beneath him.
The sensation was unmistakable; the entire structure could collapse at any moment.
“Has it already begun?”
Bai Yan furrowed his brow slightly, an invisible intuition alerting him to the presence of a formidable enemy within the dimly lit grand palace.
Mu Ling and the Scarlet Moon must have already engaged in battle. If I’m even a moment late, one of them might die, he thought.
Just as he prepared to take a step forward, his phone vibrated, emitting a notification sound.
It was a game tip from the Babel Tower game:
• “Annottales Wilderness Outpost: Strategic Point! Enemy reinforcements have arrived!”
• “Tatsumi City, a wilderness outpost, has been startled by the sudden appearance of enemy reinforcements!”
Bai Yan and his incarnation had always shared a seamless connection, almost like a single body and arm. He was already aware of the incarnation’s situation long before the game’s notification. At this very moment, his incarnation was battling both its own enemies and the newly arrived reinforcements.
The new arrival was a formidable member of the Legion enemies—a force far stronger than ordinary foes.
“As the most powerful force under the Pupil of Chaos, the Legion truly lives up to its reputation, far surpassing the Order of the Troublemakers in Noah’s world,” Bai Yan murmured.
Regarding Annottales, members of the Legion had also appeared there. Bai Yan sighed deeply.
“The Fist of Duel and the Slime… I can’t join them for support.”
Resolving to fight his battle here, Bai Yan made a decision: he would rely on Tactical Cards and manual controls to assist his allies remotely.
“Yes, manual controls,” Bai Yan muttered to himself.
Unlike the self-discipline mode, Bai Yan’s manual control, driven by his godlike gaming skills, was far more potent. It had been the key to Mu Ling overcoming the immensely powerful Gravity of Darkness in the past.
“Now I have to fight and play games simultaneously… oh dear,” he said with a wry smile.
With that, Bai Yan stepped into the palace. The next moment, a thunderous sound echoed through the hall.
“Bang!”
An extraordinarily massive figure appeared before him with astonishing speed, like a gust of wind.
He must have transformed into the wind just now to achieve such speed, Bai Yan surmised calmly as he lifted his gaze to meet the formidable enemy.
The Head of Destruction loomed above, exuding a terrifying aura that created an oppressive atmosphere.
Despite the intimidating presence, Bai Yan was unshaken. He already knew that while Mu Ling and the Scarlet Moon had suffered severe injuries, they were still alive.
The Head of Destruction’s flaming eyes flickered as he broke the silence.
“It was you who killed Hals… Yet, even though you haven’t reached the Apocalypse, you’re nothing more than an ant before me.”
He raised his hammer menacingly.
“Let me grant you eternal death.”
Bai Yan responded with a calm nod and an even tone.
“I don’t have much time to spare, but I’ll take care of you.”

Annottales – The Wilderness
This location, more than three hundred kilometers from the city, was a dense forest. Within its earth and trees lay a crimson enchantment, forming the grand Ceremony of Descent.
At the center of the ceremony stood Slime and Ganis, two resolute figures. Moments ago, they had joined forces to eliminate all the cultists guarding this ritual. Their greatest challenge had been an esteemed priest—a formidable entity beneath the Crown.
Though neither Slime nor Ganis had reached the Crown themselves, they had fought valiantly and emerged victorious. Yet, Ganis couldn’t shake a strange feeling.
He recalled the original plan: hold off the enemy here until support arrived from Mr. Profligate. Now, not only had they defeated their foes, but Mr. Profligate was still absent.
“At least we completely defeated the enemy,” Ganis muttered as he took a deep breath.
Blood of Darkness coursed through his veins, healing his wounds. Covered in blood, he turned toward the nearby Slime and laughed heartily.
“From now on, we’re comrades who’ve fought side by side!”
The Slime extended a tentacle to scratch its “head,” as though puzzled.
What is this human saying? How peculiar.
What is a companion?
Can I eat it?
Ganis chuckled, continuing, “It seems you really don’t understand what a companion is, do you?”
He had realized long ago that this deep blue Slime, like himself, was one of the core members of the Babel Tower. For reasons he couldn’t explain, Ganis felt a twinge of envy toward this peculiar being.
Despised and feared by the world, it was blissfully ignorant of such concepts—a state of existence Ganis could only imagine.
Ganis lifted his gaze toward the sky. Once, this forest was graced with azure skies. Now, golden rays filled the heavens, masking massive, dark golden pupils hidden beyond.
Though he despised the Rainbows who established the current rules, Ganis understood that the Heart of Radiance had bought humanity the time to fight back.
He clenched his rough, calloused hands tightly, fully aware of the Savior’s significance and the Babel Tower’s mission.
His purpose was clear: to save the Persecuted.
Years ago, Ganis had come to this forest for a different reason: his sister’s illness. With no remedies available in the wilderness, he had secretly entered Annottales, bringing her along. He once considered this the most foolish choice of his life.
Now, he realized it might have been his most correct decision. Without that experience, he would never have been inspired to save the Persecuted or chosen by the Savior.
From his companions in the Babel Tower, Ganis discerned something special in each of them. He suspected that the tower selected its core members based on extraordinary qualities.
Joining the Babel Tower was the only way to change the fate of the Persecuted. He understood this deeply. If the Savior could oppose the Outer Gods, surely He could also save those long oppressed.
Ganis had already come to believe it firmly.
He looked serious and spoke slowly, “Savior, I will give you everything I have—my body and soul! All I ask is that you save the persecuted across Noah’s world!”
Kneeling once again, Ganis solemnly vowed loyalty to the Savior from that moment forward.
“Ooh-woo, ooh-woo.”
Suddenly, a strange sound echoed through the forest.
Ganis immediately became alert, quickly standing up and scanning his surroundings. Yet, the dark forest appeared empty.
The slime reacted in an unusual manner.
“Rumble rumble rumble?”
“Whirrrrr, whirrrrr.”
To his surprise, the sound responded!
“Gurgle gurgle gurgle!”
“Rumble rumble rumble rumble rumble!”
Ganis froze, realizing that the slime and the mysterious voice were actually communicating.
What is going on here?
“What have you discovered? Who is speaking with you?” Ganis turned to the slime, his tone stern.
The slime, startled by his intensity, hesitated before replying, “Y-yes, it’s me… a mud… mudman…”
Wait a moment. So you can speak the language of humans?
Ganis stood still, astonished by this unexpected revelation.
Could it be? His enemy might very well emerge from the ground!
Ganis immediately focused on the ground. Sure enough, a hand suddenly stretched up from the earth, narrowly missing him.
He instinctively leapt back, dodging the danger!
“Surprisingly, you managed to escape,” a peculiar, deep voice intoned as the ground began to rise.
From the earth, a terrifying humanoid figure emerged. Formed entirely of grayish-yellow mud, it wasn’t human, yet its facial features resembled one. Standing only about a meter tall, the creature’s appearance was deeply unsettling.
A… clay puppet?
Ganis furrowed his brow, maintaining caution as he observed the strange being.
The clay puppet introduced itself:
“I am a noble Earth Elemental Elder, chosen for eternity by Glofield, the esteemed master. My name is Lye.”
Earth elemental?
Ganis was dumbfounded. This creature, an earth elemental, looked shockingly humanlike! He had always assumed earth elementals to be unintelligent brutes.
“Your expression suggests discrimination,” Lye said with a subtle shake of its head. “Humans are indeed proud creatures.”
Then, as if changing the subject, Lye asked, “Are you also a beast tamer?”
Ganis, puzzled by the question, couldn’t understand why it had labeled him as such.
Lye pointed to the slime, which was sitting idly nearby.
“Don’t deny it. Isn’t this thing your ‘beast’?”
Ganis calmly replied, “No.”
“What?” Lye was visibly confused.
Even the slime appeared bewildered, uncertain how humans regarded it. It had always lived quietly with the sage, rarely judged or labeled.
“It is my companion,” Ganis stated firmly, his eyes filled with sincerity. He genuinely believed R21 was his companion—not a wild beast, monster, or pet.
Hearing this, the slime felt a strange sensation it couldn’t quite identify.
Lye nodded thoughtfully.
“Ah, I see now. But I am a true and dedicated animal tamer, and I have a powerful ‘beast’ to show you!”
Lye snapped its fingers.
Suddenly, the earth shook violently. The mountains quaked as if an intense earthquake had struck. Ganis watched in shock as the nearby peaks crumbled.
“Only those like you can find this place,” Lye said with a meaningful smile. “Other powerful beings in this world are hindered by the Great Him and cannot locate the site of the ritual, no matter how they try.”
Lye’s expression darkened.
“In a city just a few hundred miles away, there are ‘monsters’ even stronger than our Chosen for Eternity.”
The sky suddenly fractured.
From the crack emerged a terrifying black hole, rapidly expanding.
A colossal face with enormous eyes manifested within it, peering down at the land below.
The eye alone spanned hundreds of meters, its pitch-black pupils radiating an oppressive aura of death in all directions.
The slime trembled in fear, its will to fight vanishing instantly.
Ganis, too, was overwhelmed by an unprecedented sense of terror. The sight filled him with awe and dread, surging from the depths of his heart.
An ordinary person would have knelt before that “eye,” praying for mercy.
“This thing will shatter your determination and hope,” Lye declared. “In its presence, your power is insignificant. It is impossible to pose a threat to it.”
He paused, then added with a sneer, “It is the remains of a deity… a weapon forged from the corpse of a native god. It has destroyed countless armies and nations, wielding the immense power of the Apocalypse level.”
Ganis felt his fear intensify. The remains of a deity—such a thing was beyond his ability to defeat.
Lye, clearly proud, boasted,
“It is… Fear. You cannot defeat it. Our ‘Legion’ is the most powerful force under the Pupil of Chaos, far superior to the sects of this world!”
Lye paused dramatically before concluding,
“So, struggle with all your might. In the end, you will die in despair and pain.”
What could they do?
Once that creature descended, it could obliterate an entire city with ease.
This was an unbeatable foe.
Overwhelmed by the oppressive atmosphere, Ganis glanced at the trembling slime. It was paralyzed with fear, awaiting its demise.
Looking up at the growing black rift in the sky, Ganis furrowed his brow. He had no idea how to stop the impending calamity or confront such an enemy.
The monstrous being above was so terrifying that even a single hand could crush ten of its kind.
No matter how determined or faithful one was, the gap between ants and giants could not be bridged.
Is it over?
No… it hasn’t ended yet.
