Chapter 231: Fist of Duel!
“Savior, Babel Tower—it was you orchestrating everything from behind…”
Kneeling on the ground, Scarlet Moon’s face betrayed no emotion. She neither showed humiliation nor indignation at her current predicament. Instead, her mind churned, contemplating how to extricate herself from this monumental crisis—one of the most dire she had faced in her long life.
Here she was, trapped, unable to even perceive her enemy’s existence, reduced to nothing more than a pawn in their game.
Scarlet Moon considered what lay ahead, envisioning actions her enemy might impose upon her—actions beyond the comprehension of an ordinary person.
While repugnant, if such a fate came to pass, she understood there would be no resisting it.
The Babel Tower was undoubtedly the apex of Tatsumi City’s Otherworld factions. Recently, Scarlet Moon had allied with “Profligate,” one of their key members, to defeat “The Undefeated” Ramos, leader of the Black Star Faction.
She had not foreseen how swiftly Babel Tower would turn its back on her, arriving now to claim dominance.
“That so-called Savior dares to consider himself my master? Another deluded fool who fancies himself a god.”
In her centuries of existence, she had encountered countless arrogant individuals who mistook fleeting power for true supremacy, seeking to conquer and claim all they desired.
“I will not yield to such a person,” she vowed silently.
From what she knew, the Savior was undoubtedly formidable, yet his power exceeded even her estimations.
“For now, I can only bide my time and await an opportunity.”
Thus, Scarlet Moon made no attempt to resist further. She allowed the Savior to manipulate her body, choosing instead to close her eyes and relax her mind and limbs. She resolved to rest—to sleep.
Since she could not command her own body nor resist, she surrendered herself to the situation and lay motionless.
For his part, the Savior seemed unconcerned about her condition or intentions.
But soon, Scarlet Moon realized control over her body had returned. Forced to rouse herself to avoid collapsing, she opened her eyes with a start.
“How brief it was… Is that all?”
Tilting her head, her expression remained inscrutable.
It appeared even the Savior could not sustain his power indefinitely. A time limit existed.
“What force was it that controlled me just now?”
Was it an innate ability of the Savior, or some Civilization-level relic? Whatever the answer, she would uncover it, devise a solution, and ultimately destroy him.
“Yes,” she mused. “Destroying the Babel Tower should suffice as a starting point.”
Scarlet Moon nodded slightly, her gaze calculating.
Platinum Zone, Villa.
Bai Yan lounged comfortably in a luxurious villa, savoring a tray of pastries delivered by Sylve. With a few deft motions, he continued manipulating Scarlet Moon to complete a seemingly mundane import mission.
The monster she encountered was formidable, on par with the beasts Mu Ling had faced during her missions. But where Mu Ling had struggled to achieve victory, Scarlet Moon, under Bai Yan’s control, dispatched the threat effortlessly.
“The difference is staggering,” Bai Yan murmured, his tone contemplative. “I can’t fault myself for initially underestimating you, Mu Ling.”
Though Mu Ling had started as one of his weakest Operators, she had grown stronger through consistent effort. Her future, Bai Yan believed, held great promise.
As he pondered, Bai Yan turned his attention to the character card of Scarlet Moon displayed on his phone. Familiarity bred confidence—her stats and abilities had not deviated from his first playthrough.
Core Operator: Scarlet Moon

Dominance over the Weak: Substantially increased damage to weaker opponents.
Bloodthirsty Impulse: Entering a frenzy when wounded or exerting full power.
Indolent, Domineering Monarch: Thrives on obedience, mood dampens when disobeyed.
Scarlet Moon, a top-tier operator, was peerless in overwhelming inexperienced foes. In earlier stages of the “Babel Tower” game, her dominance was absolute.
“With one blow, she nearly obliterated ‘The Undefeated’ Ramos. Such power is terrifying.”
Even so, Bai Yan had recently acquired five Awakening Souls, which would allow weaker Operators to ascend. He deliberated briefly, then decided:
“Fist of Duel. It’s his turn now.”
Kingdom of Dark Light—Annottales.
Annottales, a sprawling metropolis protected by divine beings, loomed like an eternal fortress. The city’s layers, expanded over millennia, now housed millions across fifteen districts.
In the Seventh District, order reigned supreme. The streets gleamed, patrolled by solemn church guards. Citizens moved with mechanical precision, silent and disciplined.
Yet, beneath the district’s pristine surface lay a shadowed world—the underground abattoir.
“Fight! Fight! Annihilate them all!”
Cheers erupted in the arena below, where Sequence Nine sinners fought not just for victory but for survival. Bloodlust and desperation hung heavy in the air.
Among the chaos, a charismatic announcer took the stage. Crowned and flanked by beauties, he raised a microphone, his voice booming:
“Thanks to the magnificent Savior!”
“Prepare yourselves for
tonight’s main event!”
The crowd roared in
anticipation, their excitement
peaking as the announcer
declared:
“He is the King of the Abattoir,
our undefeated champion—
the Fist of Duel, Ganis!”
The audience erupted into
chants as Ganis emerged.
Clad in simple leather shorts,
his muscular form bore the
confidence of a warrior born.
The screens above displayed
his accolades and real-time
odds.
With a confident grin, Ganis
stood tall as the crowd roared
his name:
“GANIS! GANIS! GANIS!”
