Chapter 127: Daughter of Willpower, Psychic Dancer!
Amidst the raging flames, survival was a rare feat.
The Hell Flame Demon would relentlessly scorch everything in its path, determined to completely annihilate its cowardly enemy.
Both body and soul, consumed by the infernal flames, turned to ash.
Suddenly, the flames split apart in the middle!
Like the Red Sea parting under Moses’ command.
A girl with flawless, fair skin that no one could ignore floated in the air.
Her perfect emerald pupils gleamed as her black slit dress and flowing hair swayed slightly, her gaze directed downwards at the Hell Flame Demon below.

“What power is this?”
Maryse, floating above, raised her hands in awe. Her transformation reflected not only in her appearance but also in this vastly different and overwhelming power.
It appeared to grant her control over matter, life, and even the universe itself… everything bent to her will!
“This is ‘psychic power’.”
Soon, Maryse deduced the source of this new ability.
“Tiny elf, what have you done?”
The Hell Flame Demon roared, extending its massive arms as if to pull the girl down from the sky.
Maryse’s face tensed, and she reached out toward the ground, unleashing her psychic power with a determined shout.
The giant Hell Flame Demon was immediately forced to the ground!
The earth cracked beneath the weight of the psychic force, while the Hell Flame Demon let out an enraged roar, struggling against the immense pressure. A torrent of flames surged toward Maryse from below!
Onlookers in the distance captured the spectacle with their phones and cameras.
Blazing emerald flames swirled and burst like twisting vortexes, encircling and attacking the girl in black.
Maryse inhaled deeply, extending her arms outward. Her psychic abilities automatically created barrier after barrier, instantly nullifying the incoming flame attacks.
“You insignificant mortal, I will burn you alive!”
The colossal Hell Flame Demon surged upward with raging flames, but Maryse waved her hand gently, causing it to crash back to the ground.
“Boom!”
The towering Hell Flame Demon fell heavily, attempting to rise once more with tremendous force, but it was struck repeatedly by shards of flying rock, smashing it back into the earth.
Its limbs flailed, but the vortex of energy on the ground twisted and crushed it further.
Maryse demonstrated immense psychic power from the sky, though fresh blood dripped from her nose… Such power drained her vitality.
Yet, deep down, she sensed something.
Even at this level, she couldn’t destroy the formidable demon. Perhaps it was truly immortal!
What was she to do?
Suddenly, a familiar, cold… yet comforting voice spoke to her:
[Psychic Dancer, close your eyes.]
[Use your true power to find its core.]
“Find its core… use my true power.”
Maryse slowly closed her eyes, expanding her awareness through the power of her mind, as if someone stood behind her, guiding her against the Hell Flame Demon.
She realized the core of psychic power lay in the soul, with different expressions of its force.
“Thank you, I understand.”
She found it!
Deep within the Hell Flame Demon’s form was a black-blue flame core. This core was the source of its ability to regenerate endlessly, the origin of its hellfire.
Maryse opened her eyes, her gaze sharp and unwavering, with fresh blood trickling from each corner.
“It’s over!”
Her delicate hands twisted violently!
Bang!
Core explosion!
“Ahhhhhhhhhhh!”
The Hell Flame Demon let out a final scream and collapsed, its body losing all vitality.
The dark streak in the surrounding flames retreated back to hell and vanished without a trace.
“I have won…”
Maryse took a breath in the sky, bending slightly as she raised an eyebrow.
Yet, the street was still ablaze, the fire not yet extinguished.
Only the Hell Flames returned to hell, while the ordinary flames remained, still burning.
Maryse gazed at the fiery street, her enhanced telepathic senses picking up the cries of the people.
They wept, filled with pain and sorrow.
Although she had lost her psychic perception, her empathy as a mortal allowed her to feel their emotions.
If the fire continued to burn, it would spread far beyond this block.
How many would lose their homes, their families, or even their lives…
But that wasn’t her concern…
As she watched the people struggling in the flames, she noticed someone kneeling, bowing toward her from below.
They believed her to be a hero.
Although, she wasn’t one.
“I have never been, and never will be, a hero… The so-called heroes are merely pawns for the masses.”
Yet, being admired felt somewhat pleasant…
Maryse considered briefly, raised her right hand, and extinguished flames one after another with tremendous psychic energy, rescuing those trapped in the ruins.
She felt another nosebleed coming, but it wasn’t a serious issue due to her healing ability.
The people she saved fell to their knees, thanking the hero in the sky, believing her to be a member of Babel Tower.
At this moment, Maryse’s chest filled with a strange sense of satisfaction, though she couldn’t explain why.
She murmured to herself, “This isn’t about justice. It’s simply seeking self-satisfaction from the weak here.”
More and more flames were snuffed out, but the sea of fire stretched endlessly.
Damn it!
“This way of saving people is far too slow. Why haven’t the Night Watchers arrived yet?” Maryse’s patience began to wane.
Just then, a loud noise erupted!
“Boom!”
Maryse looked to the distance, where it seemed a gas station had exploded, the flames spreading quickly.
Things were only getting worse!
She glanced back down, meeting the gaze of many kneeling people below, thanking her.
There were still many others in need of saving…
Maryse shouted out, “Savior! If you truly want to save the world, start here!
Miracle, reveal yourself to me! If you are the Savior, how can you not save these people?”
Pop.
A drop of water fell onto Maryse’s face.
She was stunned.
The sky darkened, rain began to fall in sheets, and the fierce wind pelted her skin. In an instant, a torrential downpour began.
The fires on the ground were rapidly doused.
The rain not only extinguished the flames but also washed away the despair in the air.
Maryse gazed upward, as the people on the ground erupted with joy, dancing and shouting in excitement.
“It’s raining!”
“The fire is out! Hahaha! The big fire is out!”
“It’s really raining, a miracle, a true miracle!”
Maryse looked up at the sky, her clothes completely soaked by the rain.
She murmured softly, “This is indeed a miracle, but it isn’t from heaven. Nor is it some Rainbow’s doing. It is a miracle granted to me by Him.”
Useless Tactical Card…
A storm rolled in suddenly.
“Babel Tower!”
Someone cried out, collapsing to the ground in uncontrollable sobs.
“It was Babel Tower who saved us!”
More and more people knelt, worshiping the young girl in the sky, filled with gratitude for the aid they received.
The Night Watchers, who were often late, had finally arrived. But instead of capturing the figure in the sky, they focused on healing and rescuing people.
Several Night Watchers silently observed the girl above, while Maryse calmly regarded them.
Should she continue to fight, or should she flee?
Maryse crossed her arms, contemplating her next move, waiting for the Night Watchers to make their move.
The leader of the Night Watchers shook his head gently and, in the quiet gazes of his subordinates, turned and led them away.
“Let’s go, there are still other places needing our attention. This city still has cultists, and real threats to people’s safety remain.”
