Chapter 86: Private Club
“It’s definitely here.”
Shen Yunchu spoke uneasily, checking the address Li Mengyue provided. It matched this location exactly.
The “Hongxiu Tianxiang Private Club” even had a strange, cryptic passphrase attached, giving it an air of secrecy.
Both Qiandu Maps and DiDe Maps identified this as a residential neighborhood. The buildings appeared relatively new, with security guards stationed at the gates. The residents passing in and out looked like ordinary people—not the type you’d associate with gang hideouts or secret meeting spots.
Parking their car in the underground garage, the trio headed toward the elevator of Building 8. Although neither Li Mengyue nor Jiang Qingyue were in sight, they saw their cars parked nearby, confirming they had arrived at the right place.
They chose the 26th floor, the top level. After a few moments, the elevator began its ascent. Along the way, a newlywed couple carrying snacks exited, followed by some tired-looking office workers heading down. By the time they reached the top, only the three of them remained.
The elevator doors opened, revealing an entirely different scene compared to an ordinary residential floor.
An abstract oil painting caught their eyes immediately, with the floor covered in Middle Eastern-style wool carpets. The lighting was a mix of blue and purple, giving off a UV-like glow.
The three exchanged glances, clearly questioning the legitimacy of this “private club.”
After a brief hesitation, they stepped out of the elevator. Structurally, this floor should have been a corridor leading to various apartments. However, there were no fire safety doors or visible plumbing systems.
Instead, they were flanked by sturdy mahogany doors with a traditional aesthetic. Looking left, they noticed a row of sofas, where a man sat smoking a cigar. Clouds of smoke swirled lazily around him.
Peeking further inside, they saw a projection screen in the adjacent room playing some kind of promotional video.
What was originally an eight-unit floor had clearly been converted into one expansive space, merging the apartments into what was now the “private club.”
“Oh, so that’s how it works,” Ye Xiao muttered, understanding how this exclusive venue came to be.
“Surprised?” Li Mengyue’s voice came from behind. “I was shocked when I first came here too.”
Ye Xiao turned to see Li Mengyue and Jiang Qingyue. Jiang Qingyue looked the same as before, but Li Mengyue had changed into a striking new outfit.
She wore a bold, fiery-red split gown with a deep V-neckline that plunged to her chest. The curves of her figure teased visibility beneath sheer black fabric, and a thick coat draped over her shoulders added a hint of elegance.
“What’s going on? Is dressing up this formally a requirement just to have dinner? Feels like we’re attending a banquet,”
Ye Youran remarked wryly. If that were the case, it would be unfair of Li Mengyue not to give them a heads-up.
Though her attire was glamorous, Li Mengyue’s makeup was surprisingly understated. Even so, her natural beauty remained stunning.
After silently evaluating Li Mengyue’s figure, Ye Xiao calmly added, “The only thing that fishy big sister Mengyue has to boast about is her figure. Beyond that, no matter how fancy the clothes, she’s still just a plain fish.”
“…”
Li Mengyue twitched her lips, resisting the urge to retaliate. Initially, she had only planned to stop by and grab something.
But knowing Ye Xiao’s character and suspecting that the other two girls might have ambiguous ties to her, Li Mengyue had impulsively chosen this outfit, determined to leave a stronger impression.
“This is my first time here too,” Jiang Qingyue chimed in, trying to lighten the mood.
“Yeah, rich people always have new tricks up their sleeves,” Ye Youran agreed, shaking her head.
“This place isn’t open to the public,” Li Mengyue explained as she led them deeper into the club.
“It’s technically someone’s private residence. We’re just guests.”
The group followed her, listening as she continued, “Though the lighting is suggestive, I assure you, this isn’t some shady establishment.”
Her attempt at clarification only made Ye Xiao’s imagination run wild.
Seeing her expression, Li Mengyue immediately guessed her thoughts. Clicking her tongue, she explained further,
“Everything here is legitimate—spa treatments, mini golf, billiards, tennis, table tennis, gourmet dining. I thought we could enjoy some activities after dinner.”
“So, fishy big sister Mengyue, are you planning on making this dinner date even more memorable?” Ye Xiao teased.
Ignoring the jab, Li Mengyue led them to a high bar counter. She nodded at the expressionless man in a suit behind it.
“Register a membership card for each of them.”
The man, wearing white gloves, silently took her card and began processing the request. After a moment, he looked up and asked, “What name should I use?”
Li Mengyue turned to the others with a smile. “What name would you like to use?”
“Jiang Qingyue,” she replied first.
“You can use an alias,” Li Mengyue suggested. “In fact, most people here do.”
“Why didn’t you say so earlier?”
Jiang Qingyue thought for a moment before adding, “Then call me Little Jiang.”
After confirming, the man looked toward Ye Xiao.
Ye Xiao rubbed her chin before impulsively responding, “91 Prince Ye~”
The obscure reference was lost on everyone but her.
Li Mengyue blinked, finding the name odd but refraining from commenting.
“What’s ‘91’ supposed to mean?” Shen Yunchu asked curiously.
“…” Ye Xiao felt awkward.
Explaining the reference would be inappropriate, but avoiding the question might seem dismissive.
She improvised, “Well… when I start my own production studio someday, I’ll call it 91 Studios. And Yunchu, you’ll be my lead actress!”
Of course, the “studio” in her imagination would only document her personal moments with Yunchu—strictly for private viewing. She wouldn’t dare venture into anything more scandalous.
Thankfully, this world had no knowledge of the original reference. The bartender didn’t react oddly, sparing her from further embarrassment.
Shen Yunchu eventually chose “Cloud Sovereign” as her alias, while Ye Youran opted for “Qingqing Zijin.”
The bartender processed the names and handed Li Mengyue her card back, along with four gold membership cards.
“Take good care of these. You can come here anytime within the year,” Li Mengyue said nonchalantly, handing the cards to them.
“Now, let’s go eat! I’m starving,” she added, stretching her shoulders.
As they followed her, she continued chatting, “This is a membership-only place. The annual fee is 100,000, whether or not you visit. That’s why it’s so exclusive. Imagine the public reaction if this kind of luxury was exposed!”
Ye Xiao wasn’t fazed, thinking of how much effort Li Mengyue had invested to impress her. But she knew Li Mengyue wasn’t spending her own money—this was all on her father’s secondary card.
However, Shen Yunchu and Jiang Qingyue were visibly shaken.
Realizing Li Mengyue had brought Ye Xiao here but not her before, Jiang Qingyue couldn’t shake the feeling that she was merely an afterthought.
“So, you just spent 400,000 yuan in one go?” Ye Youran asked in disbelief.
“Wow, I didn’t expect fishy big sister to be such a frivolous spender!” Ye Xiao added with mock disdain.
