Chapter 85: Mengyue, Who Loves to Treat Guests
Ye Xiao ignored everyone and headed straight to the door of the small meeting room.
The student at the front of the line frowned. After waiting for two hours, how could he tolerate someone cutting in line now?
“What do you think you’re doing?”
As Ye Xiao walked up, the student couldn’t help but speak up.
“First, I never said I was cutting in line. Second, I’m not a student at Binhai University. Seriously, why is it all just useless trash? None of you seem remotely capable of anything.”
Ye Xiao said as she pushed open the meeting room door without hesitation.
Shen Yunchu, one of the interviewers inside, immediately looked toward the door.
To manage the situation, Shen Yunchu had even called Ye Youran earlier. But even with Ye Youran rushing over, there was still no sign of Ye Xiao. She hadn’t answered her phone all morning after going out late the previous night.
Honestly, Shen Yunchu had been on the verge of calling the police.
“Xiao Xiao! Why are you only showing up now?”
The student standing at the door stared in surprise at Ye Xiao. No one had expected that this petite young girl was actually from Yun-Xiao. She even appeared to be one of the interviewers.
If they knew that Ye Xiao was the owner of Yun-Xiao, fully funded and solely responsible for creating My World, their expressions would’ve been an entirely different story.
But such revelations were reserved for those who mattered—those capable of meeting Ye Xiao’s expectations and joining their company.
“Sorry for being late. How’s the recruitment going?”
Ye Xiao said with a smile as she walked into the room and sat in the center seat, specially left empty by Ye Youran and Shen Yunchu.
Meanwhile, Jiang Qingyue and Li Mengyue were completely dumbfounded.
What’s going on?
Ye Xiao is an interviewer for Yun-Xiao? And judging by her seat, she’s in a high-ranking position too.
Could she have participated in the development of My World?
Jiang Qingyue was dying to ask, but since this was Yun-Xiao’s recruitment event, neither of them was in a position to interview or question anything. All they could do was find a spot in the library to sit and wait for Ye Xiao to come out.
“…In summary, I’ve reviewed all the resumes. Most are fresh graduates, with a few having brief internship experience,” Shen Yunchu said, shaking her head in disappointment.
“It’s fine. Young people bring energy, fresh ideas, and innovation. Unlike those stuck-up old geezers with rigid thinking and an overblown sense of superiority just because of their so-called experience. They look down on everyone else, thinking they’re better. Trash is trash, no matter how you look at it,” Ye Xiao said with a scoff.
“Alright, could you kindly close the door on your way out and let the next candidate in?”
The young man being interviewed left the room, visibly dejected.
Ye Xiao leaned back in her chair, slightly raising her hips off the seat, unable to sit down fully due to the stinging pain.
“Xiao Xiao, I wasn’t sure what kind of employees you were looking for, so I recorded all the interviews for you to review later,” Shen Yunchu said.
“No problem. Keep doing what you’ve been doing. You’ve got this, Sister Yunchu and my Fishy Big Sister,” Ye Xiao said with an encouraging glance, though her thoughts were elsewhere.
The interviews continued smoothly.
At noon, lunch was delivered by the university, a generous spread of five dishes and a soup for the three of them.
The event lasted longer than expected, running until 8 PM due to the unexpectedly high turnout.
Ye Xiao, restless throughout, would wince every time she accidentally sat down too firmly.
Out of all the candidates, Ye Xiao selected 20. Fifteen were recruited for Yun-Xiao Interactive Entertainment, while the remaining five were chosen for the gaming division.
Ye Xiao set one requirement for those wanting to join Yun-Xiao Network Technology—they must have purchased My World and logged over 24 hours of gameplay.
As the meeting ended, most of the library’s students had left, many believing their chances were slim since no offers were made on the spot. Instead, the company promised to notify successful candidates by phone.
Even after hiring these individuals, Yun-Xiao still needed more staff, necessitating additional hiring efforts from the general job market.
When Ye Xiao, Shen Yunchu, and Ye Youran finally exited the meeting room, the library was mostly empty, save for Jiang Qingyue and Li Mengyue, each engrossed in a book.
“It’s getting late, and you haven’t eaten yet, right? How about I treat you?” Li Mengyue suggested after a round of introductions.
“No need for you to treat. If anyone’s treating, it should be Ye Xiao,” Ye Youran said with a faint smirk.
If she knew her sister was a total flirt and had already slept with several of the women around her, she might not be smiling now.
“Oh, treating people is just one of Mengyue’s hobbies. She loves inviting others to meals when she’s got nothing else to do,” Jiang Qingyue said.
Li Mengyue’s penchant for treating others was uncommon, and few had the honor of being invited. Jiang Qingyue was one of the lucky few who often enjoyed this privilege.
“People actually have hobbies like that?” Ye Youran asked, looking at Li Mengyue with curiosity. She was genuinely intrigued by how her sister had befriended these two women.
“Alright, shall we go? Everyone must be starving by now,” Shen Yunchu suggested, glancing at Ye Xiao.
Ye Xiao pouted. Truthfully, she just wanted to go home and lie down, not join a dinner outing. But seeing Ye Youran’s interest, she reluctantly agreed. After all, skipping a meal would only leave her hungrier.
As they chatted, Li Mengyue sent the restaurant address to Shen Yunchu’s phone.
“Growl~”
Right then, Ye Xiao’s stomach rumbled, and her face flushed in embarrassment. She quickly urged Shen Yunchu to start driving.
Following the address, Shen Yunchu drove them to a residential area near an apartment complex.
“Uh, Sister Yunchu, are you sure this is the place? How could a restaurant be in a residential building? Gosh, Fishy Sister Yunchu, you’re really an big idiot~”
