Chapter 74: Sister Yunchu’s Jealousy
That afternoon, with nothing pressing to attend to, Ye Xiao stayed at the company and played games with Jiang Mengwei. They picked an older, classic game similar to “Warcraft RPG” from her past life.
It featured numerous custom maps, and the official developers had created a platform to bring map creators together, a concept far more consumer-friendly than the platform run by NetEase in her previous life.
Ye Xiao and Jiang Mengwei played the ranked ladder mode, reminiscent of DOTA. This game was essentially the prototype of MOBA games in this world. However, due to its roots in classic gaming maps, it was notoriously hard to master. While it had a decent player base, it still struggled to break into mainstream popularity.
Ye Xiao chose a hero akin to the Blademaster from DOTA, and true to the stereotype of “nine out of ten girls being terrible at gaming,” she became the worst of the worst. Her skill level was akin to a black hole, even in her past life, her inability to win in ranked League of Legends games was infamous.
Jiang Mengwei, on the other hand, took gaming surprisingly seriously. Initially, Ye Xiao thought her prior experience with League of Legends would help her adapt, but she quickly realized just how wrong she was. The mechanics of this early MOBA game were drastically different from the ones she was familiar with.
Jiang Mengwei, a seasoned player, performed admirably. Unfortunately, her efforts were nullified by Ye Xiao, who fed the enemy team faster than Jiang Mengwei could take them down.
When the match ended, Ye Xiao’s scoreboard read 0-16-2, while Jiang Mengwei had an impressive 15-1-10.
Looking at her declining ladder rank, Jiang Mengwei could only hold her forehead in silent frustration. She had genuinely thought, based on Ye Xiao’s confidence earlier, that her gaming prowess might rival her songwriting talent.
Just like that, an afternoon passed in gaming-induced exhaustion.
Back at home, Ye Xiao collapsed lazily onto the sofa. Ye Youran wasn’t home tonight—her mother had called her back to the family residence. Originally, Ye Xiao was also summoned but used the excuse of being swamped with work at the company to decline.
For once, without Sister Youran around, Shen Yunchu paid special attention to Ye Xiao’s every move after returning home.
Still in her office attire—only having taken off her overcoat and hung it on the rack—Shen Yunchu began tidying up the apartment. Over the past few days, she had been too busy with procurement tasks to keep the house clean.
Seeing Ye Xiao lounging on the couch and scrolling through her phone, she didn’t mind. As the boss of a growing company, Ye Xiao deserved a little laziness.
As for why Shen Yunchu didn’t change out of her work clothes, she had her reasons. After several days of physical closeness and snuggling with Ye Xiao, Shen Yunchu worried she might grow tired of her. So today, she decided to play things differently.
Without a word, she smiled and fetched a mop to start cleaning the living room.
Ye Xiao had been casually browsing her phone when her attention was abruptly stolen by Shen Yunchu, who was mopping right in front of her.
Dressed in a professional OL outfit paired with a form-fitting skirt and black stockings, Shen Yunchu bent over with her back facing Ye Xiao. The movement made her curves sway enticingly in front of Ye Xiao’s eyes. Unable to resist, Ye Xiao gave Shen Yunchu’s rear a playful slap.
Ye Xiao wasn’t exactly a conventional woman. Perhaps Nuwa had made a mistake when crafting her, leaving out a few key components. But this didn’t stop Ye Xiao from flirting with the girls around her—or snuggling with her dear “sister.”
Feeling the heat rise in her chest, Ye Xiao watched Shen Yunchu straighten up, glance at her over her shoulder with a teasingly reproachful look, and then resume mopping without protest.
When Shen Yunchu turned to face her while cleaning, Ye Xiao found herself even more restless.
Bending over again, Shen Yunchu’s blouse gaped open, revealing a tantalizing glimpse of her undergarments. Typically, her buttons were fastened all the way up, as if she were afraid of anyone seeing even a hint of skin.
The subtle curves that had seemed modest before now carried a distinct fullness in this pose.
When had her modest Sister Yunchu become so… daring?
Ye Xiao was bewildered by the transformation. Was her Sister Yunchu possessed? Or had something happened that she didn’t know about?
Had it not been early evening, with the curtains still open, Ye Xiao might have already pounced.
What she didn’t realize was that Shen Yunchu had summoned tremendous courage to behave this boldly. It was out of character for her, but she couldn’t help herself. As more women gathered around Ye Xiao, Shen Yunchu’s jealousy bubbled to the surface.
She wanted Ye Xiao to notice her more.
While her methods might seem clumsy, the results were unexpectedly effective.
Ye Xiao was undeniably hooked.
After about half an hour of cleaning, Shen Yunchu finally finished tidying the apartment.
“Xiao Xiao, I’ll go make dinner now~”
“Ah… Oh, okay…”
Ye Xiao, still lost in the beautiful scenes replaying in her mind, responded absentmindedly.
Earlier that afternoon, neither of them had eaten because Shen Yunchu had insisted on cooking a special dinner. Though they accompanied Jiang Mengwei in the company cafeteria, only watching her enjoy a delicious meal prepared by professional chefs, Ye Xiao was promised an even better feast at home.
Quietly, Ye Xiao crept into the kitchen, only to find Shen Yunchu wearing nothing but an apron.
Her cheeks flushed a deep red, but she had anticipated Ye Xiao’s inability to resist. Shen Yunchu had carefully orchestrated everything, knowing this rare night without Ye Youran could be her chance for some close, uninterrupted time with Ye Xiao.
As Shen Yunchu busied herself cooking, she felt Ye Xiao’s presence behind her, the distinct fragrance that belonged to her filling the air.
Feigning ignorance, Shen Yunchu focused on preparing the meal while Ye Xiao sidled up to her and began helping her knead dough.
“Ah! Xiao Xiao, why are you in the kitchen?”
“Fishy Sister Yunchu, my clumsy yet adorable big sister~ How could I resist teasing you when you’re just so cute?”
Ye Xiao grinned as she spoke, her hands still working the dough.
Though embarrassed, Shen Yunchu felt her heart flutter with joy.
“Xiao Xiao, be good and wait in the living room. Dinner will be ready soon… You’re making it hard for me to focus.”
Her face, radiant with beauty and affection, betrayed the reproachful tone in her words.
Despite herself, her body leaned ever so slightly toward Ye Xiao.
Feeling Shen Yunchu subtly press against her, Ye Xiao felt an electrifying rush, her heart pounding.
Even her imaginary counterpart, “Little Ye Xiao”, from a fantastical parallel world, stood at full attention, saluting in awe.
