Chapter 125: Everyone Wants To Watch A Movie With The Mesugaki
“Enough about me—Ye Xiao, you’re the real busy person. What brings you back to Binhai University? I couldn’t even get you to meet up for Christmas!” Jiang Mengwei teased back.
“By the way, are you free tomorrow evening? Want to go watch a movie together?” As she spoke, she pulled out two movie tickets—Chianda Cinema, 4:00 p.m. screening. “Perfect timing too—we can grab dinner afterward.”
Ye Xiao immediately remembered the two movie invitations she’d already received. Her expression turned troubled.
She’d already flaked on everyone on Christmas Eve, and things weren’t fully smoothed over yet. If she pulled another stunt with double-booked plans and people found out, she’d absolutely stir up collective anger again.
Worse still, Jiang Mengwei and Jiang Qingyue were probably alumni—what if they knew each other? If they ran into each other, how awkward would that be?
So Ye Xiao thought, better to make sure none of the dates overlapped.
“Looks like you’re not planning to give me a chance to suck up to the boss, huh?” Jiang Mengwei joked.
“How could I say no? It’s just a movie.” Ye Xiao quickly shook her head, which was as good as agreeing.
She noted the movie time. It was for 9:00 p.m., which was a bit of a strategic slot: the film would end around 11:00 p.m., just past the usual dorm curfew—perfect timing for university students.
It was a classic guy move: take the girl to a late movie, and when it ends, oops—can’t get back to the dorm. Time to get a room, and then let things naturally happen…
But Jiang Mengwei was a teaching assistant, so she didn’t need to worry about that sort of situation, nor would she casually accept invites from random guys.
After saying goodbye to Jiang Mengwei, Ye Xiao left.
Not long after, she received a message from Jiang Qingyue. Her movie was scheduled for 4:00 p.m., followed by dinner.
Thankfully, no timing conflict—and not even at the same cinema—so the risk of exposure was greatly reduced.
The only thing was… both movies were the same, the newly released “Wolf War 3”.
After thinking it over, Ye Xiao figured it wasn’t a big deal. Watching the same movie twice could actually be good—she might catch details the second time she missed the first.
But just then, a message from Shen Yunchu popped up.
Ye Xiao had also agreed to watch a movie with her. Shen Yunchu had already bought the tickets and sent the showtime: 1:00 p.m. tomorrow. She also wanted to go shopping with Ye Xiao afterward.
Since they’d become physically involved, it had been a while since they’d gone out together.
Looking at the times for everyone’s shows, Ye Xiao let out a quiet sigh of relief.
Perfect. No scheduling collisions.
It really seemed like she was destined to be a time management master.
After parting ways with Jiang Mengwei, Ye Xiao returned to her single apartment. Of all the girls, the one she worried most about was Qin Yunxi.
She was the only “big sister” younger than Ye Xiao.
But when Ye Xiao got home, Qin Yunxi was nowhere to be seen.
She immediately panicked. Where could she have gone?
For a runaway girl who had left home using suicide as a reason, Ye Xiao couldn’t help but worry—what if she had gotten overwhelmed again and tried something stupid?
It was just one night without her at home… surely she wouldn’t do anything extreme?
Ye Xiao tried to calm herself, but she was already rushing out to search the places Qin Yunxi often went.
She searched all around—and came up empty.
Finally, she sat on a bench in the neighborhood, frowning deeply. Ye Xiao even considered using her few, meager connections in Binhai City to try and find Qin Yunxi. The girl was just too unsettling to leave alone.
She was just about to call Lu Shiqing or Su Ruoxue for help when—
A girl with a canvas shopping bag full of groceries swiped in through the community gate.
The moment she spotted Ye Xiao, she quickened her steps.
By the time she reached Ye Xiao, she was flushed red and panting—clearly not someone used to exercising.
“Xiao Xiao, you’re back! Where have you been these past few days? Why haven’t you come home?”
Her tone carried concern and a hint of reproach.
“…Well, I had some stuff I needed to take care of, okay?”
Ye Xiao turned her head awkwardly, a little embarrassed.
Seeing that Qin Yunxi hadn’t disappeared, she felt hugely relieved.
And there was no way she could tell the girl she’d been busy juggling her relationships with the other “big sisters.”
Even though Qin Yunxi seemed simple and naive, Ye Xiao still wasn’t sure how she’d react to something like that.
“What do you want to eat tonight?” Back at the apartment, Qin Yunxi asked cheerfully.
She’d recently been learning a lot of recipes online.
As a little housemaid, she was now getting pretty comfortable in the kitchen. They hardly ever needed takeout anymore.
Ye Xiao had definitely noticed her progress.
She was even a bit surprised that a pampered rich girl like her could adapt to cooking so quickly.
That evening, Qin Yunxi made Ye Xiao’s favorite dishes. Though still a little clumsy, the food wasn’t bad—at least edible, and somewhat tasty.
After dinner, the two of them showered together.
Fresh and fragrant, they then climbed into bed.
Ye Xiao didn’t make any moves. Her head was full of thoughts about how to flawlessly execute her plans tomorrow.
She knew she shouldn’t be thinking about other girls while lying next to one—that was really inappropriate.
But she couldn’t stop herself from planning and calculating.
Suddenly, Qin Yunxi hugged her head.
Though not as ample as Lu Shiqing, her chest still made Ye Xiao feel a soft, enveloping warmth.
“Xiao Xiao, if you’re not coming home, can you at least tell me ahead of time?” The girl’s voice was low and pitiful.
Ye Xiao instinctively tried to reply, but her face was buried so tightly in her chest that she couldn’t say a word—just muffled sounds of “mmph mmph.”
Whenever Ye Xiao didn’t come home, Qin Yunxi would wake up and wonder if everything had been just a beautiful dream—too vivid to be fake, but too good to be true.
But the moment she saw Ye Xiao again, all her fears disappeared.
Realizing something was wrong, Qin Yunxi quickly let go.
Ye Xiao gasped for air in huge gulps.
Life was getting harder—every girl around her was fully capable of breast suffocation.
Qin Yunxi’s face turned bright red.
After a while, the atmosphere finally calmed down.
“What are you thinking about?”
“Nothing much… just wondering what I should pay attention to when going to the movies.” Ye Xiao answered reflexively.
Qin Yunxi immediately brightened up. “Xiao Xiao, are you taking me to the movies?”
Ye Xiao hadn’t expected her to get so excited.
“You’ve never been to the cinema before?”
Qin Yunxi shook her head.
Ye Xiao once again felt a pang of sympathy—her family’s control over her had been way too strict.
Finally free…
Ye Xiao opened the ticket booking app on her phone.
Qin Yunxi took the phone from her, eyes lighting up like stars.
It would be her very first movie with someone.
