Chapter 5: 100,000 Yuan to Solve Your Problem
After leaving home, Lin Feng ran directly to the urban area of Jinling City.
With his speed, the forty-kilometer journey only took a few minutes.
If he had flown with his sword, it would have taken just one minute, but since the city was crowded and full of onlookers, he chose not to fly.
As for making money?
For Lin Feng, there were countless ways to earn money.
He could set up formations, refine medicine, create talismans, practice medicine, or read feng shui. Any of these skills could easily make him a fortune.
After a brief moment of thought, Lin Feng headed to a market in the northern part of the city.
This market, called the “Jiangning General Goods Trading Market,” wasn’t the largest in Jinling, but it was certainly the most diverse.
Here, you could find anything for sale—from daily household items and home remedies to gold, silver, jewelry, and antiques.
You could even spot a few fortune-tellers and exorcists offering services such as demon-expelling and ghost-hunting.
This eclectic mix made the Jiangning market chaotic, a place where all sorts of people gathered. Even city officials turned a blind eye when passing by.
Lin Feng found an empty spot, sat down cross-legged, and pulled out a red brick. He wrote a line of text on the ground in front of him:
“Rent me for two hours: can do anything, knows everything. Price negotiable.”
After everything was set up, Lin Feng closed his eyes and waited for someone with fate to approach him.
The market was bustling with people.
Soon enough, word spread about Lin Feng’s stall, and many passersby came to take a look, curious to see what was going on.
But no one came forward to inquire, as what Lin Feng had written seemed too exaggerated.
“Can do anything, knows everything?”
What, did he think he was some kind of deity?
Even a deity wouldn’t dare make such a bold claim!
A scammer!
He must be a scammer!
A crowd gathered around Lin Feng, pointing and whispering.
Some people even came forward with playful attitudes, deliberately asking bizarre questions.
“Can you cure erectile dysfunction?”
“Can you add 5 centimeters?”
For those clearly coming to make fun, Lin Feng naturally ignored them.
Meanwhile, in a black Hummer parked by the side of the street, a group of men was carefully observing Lin Feng through the window.
One of the men spoke in a low voice to the middle-aged man in the back seat:
“Boss, this guy’s too young! He’s obviously bluffing.”
“We should check elsewhere. We can’t keep wasting time. If we don’t find a solution soon, there might be real trouble at the construction site!”
“But finding a real expert who can exorcise demons isn’t easy!” the middle-aged man sighed.
His name was Wang Chong, the chairman of a large construction company in Jinling City.
Lately, strange and eerie things had been happening at his company’s construction site.
Workers often reported hearing the cries of children in the middle of the night, but when they went to check, there was nothing.
And when they returned to their dorms, the crying would start again outside.
Just last night, one worker said he saw a weasel laughing at him while going to the restroom. The weasel asked, “Young man, do I look more like a human or a fairy?”
The worker had never seen anything so creepy. He didn’t dare answer and ran back to the dorm, only to fall seriously ill. No illness could be diagnosed at the hospital, and the worker remained bedridden.
Because of this, Wang Chong was extremely troubled. He personally brought his men to the Jiangning market to seek out an expert.
Although they had found several so-called “masters,” they turned out to be useless frauds.
Hearing the conversation from the Hummer, Lin Feng’s ears perked up. He immediately shouted out loud:
“Can do anything, knows everything, especially skilled in exorcism, demon-slaying, and ghost-repelling! If your home has such issues, feel free to come!”
After shouting, Lin Feng packed up his stall and stood as if he was preparing to leave.
At that moment, the middle-aged man in the Hummer hurriedly rushed out, shouting:
“Young man, wait!”
Hook, line, and sinker.
Lin Feng smiled slightly and stopped. He took a moment to size up the middle-aged man.
The man had a square face and thick eyebrows, with an imposing demeanor that gave off an air of authority.
Such a person was either involved in criminal circles or held a high position.
Either way, he wasn’t an ordinary person.
What caught Lin Feng’s attention the most was the black energy swirling on the man’s forehead—an ominous sign that only someone with Lin Feng’s opened spiritual eyes could see.
“Let me introduce myself. I’m Wang Chong. I—”
“My time is limited. Get to the point,” Lin Feng said, playing the role of a mysterious master.
Wang Chong stared at Lin Feng for a moment, then explained the strange occurrences at his construction site.
“Where’s your site located?”
“About fifty kilometers east, near the foot of Taihu Mountain.”
Lin Feng instantly had a rough idea of the situation.
Even though it was the end of the spiritual age, there was still some lingering spiritual energy in the world, which meant creatures like mountain spirits and ghosts could still appear.
The worker had likely encountered a so-called “Yellow Weasel Spirit” trying to gain recognition.
That didn’t mean the weasel was becoming a true immortal—it had just lived long enough to develop some intelligence and was playing tricks to satisfy its own desires.
Truthfully, such a minor spirit would be terrified of Lin Feng.
Still, he pretended to consider it and asked:
“I see plenty of ‘masters’ in this market. Why come to me?”
“Don’t even mention it. The so-called ‘masters’ here are all frauds—useless!” Wang Chong said coldly.
Then he added, “I get what you’re implying. If you can handle this for me, I’ll give you 20,000 yuan. How about it?”
“Mr. Wang, this situation isn’t as simple as you think. It’s quite serious. If you don’t solve it soon, not just your construction site, but even you personally will be in danger.”
Lin Feng gazed at Wang Chong and added calmly, “Have you been having trouble sleeping lately?”
Wang Chong’s heart skipped a beat.
Of course, he knew the situation was bad!
The construction site had been shut down for days, losing tens of thousands of yuan every day. If this kept up, he was going to take a huge financial hit!
Not only that, but in recent nights, he had felt as if a pair of eyes were staring at him while he slept. Yet every time he turned on the lights, there was nothing.
This eerie sensation had left him deeply unsettled.
In truth, Wang Chong had come to Lin Feng out of desperation, not expecting much.
But now, hearing Lin Feng’s words, he felt a surge of shock.
Could this young man really be the expert he was looking for?
“Young man, what do you suggest?” Wang Chong asked.
“My suggestion? You’ll have to pay more.”
“…”
Wang Chong looked at Lin Feng, feeling not anger but relief.
If he was asking for more money, it meant this person probably had real skills. Otherwise, why would he make such a demand?
“How much are you asking for?”
“100,000 yuan, and I’ll guarantee the problem is solved,” Lin Feng replied calmly.
