Chapter 6: A Person Who Shouldn’t Appear At This Time
Su Li stared at the cold, beautiful girl in the black dress, mentally screaming in disbelief. That beauty’s name was Shen Qingxia—one of the girls Su Li had previously “conquered” and also her student. According to the timeline, she wasn’t supposed to transfer to this school until next semester, specifically into Su Li’s class.
So why is she showing up now!?
Back when Su Li was working on Shen Qingxia’s route, she’d looked into her background. Qingxia had been attending a different school—probably a bit far from here. It was only because of a sudden change in her parents’ work that she transferred. So by all logic, she shouldn’t be here yet.
Which made her appearance now—totally out of place.
Something’s wrong. Seriously wrong. Could the strange information that appeared in Su Li’s head actually be real? Or was this just the butterfly effect playing out?
Whatever the case, a character showing up ahead of schedule was a definite red flag. The fact that Qingxia looked directly at her the moment she entered made it all the more suspicious.
Su Li decided to stay still and observe for now. She didn’t want to believe in the existence of so many reincarnators, but with the way things were unfolding, she had no choice.
She especially didn’t want to expose the fact that she was a transmigrator. Being pursued romantically was one thing… but what if someone pulled a kitchen knife on her next!?
That said, Shen Qingxia was undeniably beautiful—one of the top-tier girls among all Su Li had “conquered.” Just… a little too icy.
While Su Li was observing Qingxia, Li Yitong was watching her as well. Yitong’s eyes flickered with surprise. Shen Qingxia definitely wasn’t supposed to show up yet, and that made things interesting.
After a glance at Yitong, Shen Qingxia silently scanned the café as if searching for someone. Her behavior was oddly attention-grabbing.
Eventually, she gave up the search, quietly made her way to a corner seat, and began browsing the menu.
Whether intentionally or not, the seat she chose had a clear view of Su Li, and given the short distance, she’d likely be able to hear their conversation too.
Faced with Qingxia’s presence, Su Li now had only one goal: finish her coffee and get the hell out.
This world was starting to feel seriously dangerous.
She even wanted to go back and surf the internet, to see if anything about this world had changed—like the sudden appearance of a “Crossdressing Mountain Range” or a “Crossdressing Strait” or something. Not that she’d be excited if such things actually existed!
This sort of thing wasn’t unprecedented. She once read a rebirth novel where the protagonist was supposed to go around slapping faces, but instead the reborn world included enthusiastic and welcoming Old Yharnam and simple, honest Undead Street, eventually turning the novel into a survival horror.
If she was really stuck in a world like that, Su Li felt completely doomed.
“Miss Su, what do you usually like to do in your free time?”
Just as Su Li was spinning wild theories, Li Yitong asked with a gentle smile.
“Me? I usually just watch movies or anime, maybe play a few games.”
Even if Yitong was a fellow transmigrator, saying they had similar interests wouldn’t raise any red flags. But if she tried to be clever and lied, there was a good chance she’d slip up later.
“I see~”
Yitong nodded thoughtfully. While Su Li’s overall personality felt completely different now, her hobbies hadn’t changed at all.
So… had her core nature changed?
For a brief moment, Su Li felt a flash of danger from Yitong—like a sudden thorn in a field of flowers. It vanished quickly, and Yitong once again looked as warm and kind as ever.
Was it just her imagination?
But when Yitong addressed her as Miss Su, Shen Qingxia’s gaze instantly sharpened. Her previously distant look honed in on Su Li, like she wanted to see through every layer of her being.
With such a piercing gaze, there was no way Su Li wouldn’t notice. Even she felt that look was a bit too… intense. Like a lecherous old man eyeing a defenseless girl.
Thankfully, Su Li had already finished her coffee. She cleared her throat and said, “Miss Li, I have something I need to take care of, so I’ll head off first. See you tomorrow.”
“Alright, see you tomorrow~”
Watching Su Li leave, Li Yitong’s lips curled into a faint, unreadable smile—like a hunter watching her prey stroll into the forest.
As soon as Su Li left, Shen Qingxia also stood up, paid, and exited the café, leaving behind a half-full cup of coffee. Yitong stared at that half cup, lost in thought.
—
Outside the café, Su Li let out a long breath. She had felt immense pressure in front of Li Yitong. Even though Yitong acted exactly the same as she had before Su Li tried to “conquer” her…
Why does it feel so different now?
As Su Li wandered through her thoughts, she suddenly had a strange feeling and glanced over her shoulder.
The street wasn’t big. Only a few scattered pedestrians were walking by.
She could’ve sworn… someone was following her. Don’t tell her it was one of those disgusting perverts!?
She didn’t want to be the heroine in some R18 doujin scenario right after getting reborn!
In her past life, with her old physique and combat skills, she wouldn’t have been afraid even if it was a creeper. But now? She wasn’t even 160cm tall—probably one push and she’d fall over. No time to resist.
Voice soft, body gentle, easily toppled. The real deal.
But Su Li didn’t panic. She wasn’t some helpless girl in an R18 drama, running toward deserted alleys to deliver herself to danger.
In these situations, the best move was to head toward crowds. No matter how bold someone was, they wouldn’t try anything in public… probably.
With that in mind, Su Li quickened her pace and made her way to the main street.
Behind her, in a shadowy corner, Shen Qingxia quietly peeked her head out. Seeing Su Li speed up, she didn’t rush after her. Instead, she slipped silently into a nearby alley—and disappeared into the depths of the shadows.
