Chapter 28: How Should A Priest Allocate Stats?
“Um, can I ask how a priest should allocate their stats?”
While Su Li was farming monsters, the priest girl suddenly typed that line.
For a moment, Su Li’s mind flashed through all the different stat builds for priests, and then she typed a reply:
“Put all your level-up points into Strength, then buy a book for Two-Handed Weapon Mastery and learn it. I just got a rare blue greatsword drop, so you can use it for now! When you see an enemy, don’t say anything—just charge straight in.”
“Oh.”
Under Su Li’s surprised gaze, the priest girl activated her town portal spell. Not long after, she reappeared in front of Su Li, and on her back was the greatsword Su Li had just traded to her.
“I just went and bought the Two-Handed Weapon Mastery book,” the priest girl said.
For a moment, Su Li didn’t know what to say. She had just said that on a whim—she hadn’t expected the priest girl to actually put all her points into Strength!
Su Li figured she’d better give the priest girl a self-healing potion later. Honestly, she felt a little guilty about it.
But then again, the priest girl’s full-Strength build actually dealt decent damage. Combined with the priest’s natural Strength-boosting skills, her output was surprisingly high—so high, in fact, that she was even doing a bit more damage than Su Li herself.
Su Li suddenly had the urge to go full Strength too… but after thinking it over, she held back.
The priest girl also completely changed her usual backline healing playstyle. Now, when she saw a monster, she’d just grab the greatsword and charge in headfirst.
Her character model had been customized during character creation to look petite and adorable. Normally, that wasn’t anything noteworthy—but now, seeing a cute girl in a priest robe swinging around a giant sword and slashing monsters, the whole scene was so bizarre Su Li didn’t even know what to say.
Su Li kept playing like that until almost midnight.
After a lazy stretch, she told the priest girl that she was about to log off to shower and sleep, and they agreed to continue playing the next evening.
After closing the game, Su Li went straight into the bathroom. If she didn’t have plans to go shopping with Li Yitong tomorrow, she might have played even later into the night.
While showering, Su Li suddenly burst out laughing as she thought about the priest girl’s blank, adorable expression. A full-Strength priest—no matter how you looked at it, it was just so smashable.
After the shower, she dried her hair and quickly drifted off to sleep.
Meanwhile, in a high-end residential complex, a beautiful girl sat in front of her computer screen and softly muttered to herself,
“I should collect some gear tomorrow. My attack power still needs to improve.”
—
Ring ring ring.
With a sharp, shrill ringing, Su Li slowly opened her eyes. She casually turned off the alarm, rolled out of bed, let out a lazy yawn, and headed into the bathroom to wash up.
After brushing her teeth and changing clothes, she grabbed her bag and headed straight out the door.
Arriving at the school gates, Su Li was surprised to find that Li Yitong was already there waiting. And to think she hadn’t even eaten breakfast and had come straight here! There was still more than half an hour until their agreed meeting time.
She hadn’t expected that even so, Li Yitong would still arrive before her. That was a little unnatural.
Back in her previous life, when she used to go on dates with Li Yitong, although Li Yitong was punctual, it was just that—punctual. Su Li, on the other hand, often arrived quite a bit early and then would casually exaggerate how long she’d been waiting to make herself seem even more prompt. It gave off an air of having arrived well in advance.
Now Su Li suspected… Was Li Yitong copying her old tricks?
When Su Li spotted Li Yitong, Li Yitong saw her as well. A gentle smile curved at the corners of her lips as she walked straight up to Su Li and said,
“Good morning, Xiao Li~”
“G-Good morning… Sorry for making you wait,” Su Li replied a little sheepishly, playing the part of a girl who had arrived late.
Even though, strictly speaking, she hadn’t.
“It’s fine. I just got here~ Oh right, here’s your breakfast.” Li Yitong handed her the breakfast she was holding.
Feeling the warmth radiating from the bun, Su Li could tell it had just been freshly steamed. She couldn’t help but suspect that Li Yitong had already calculated her arrival time. If she wasn’t a reborn person, she might have even seen something like “Affection +1” pop up above her head.
“Th-Thank you…”
“No problem~ I was a little worried that I bought breakfast too early. Didn’t expect you to show up right on time, Xiao Li~”
As Su Li nibbled delicately on the bun, she noticed that ever since she’d started eating, Li Yitong had been watching her the entire time.
Did she have something weird on her face or something?
Noticing her confusion, Li Yitong smiled slightly and said,
“It’s nothing~ I just think Xiao Li looks really cute when you eat. Don’t mind me~”
“Oh…”
Being called cute or whatever—Su Li was kind of getting used to it by now. Not to brag, but she even thought to herself that she was indeed cute. Adorably so. The kind that makes people want to bully her just a little.
After finishing breakfast, Su Li followed Li Yitong toward a nearby shopping mall. It wasn’t too far from the school, but not exactly close either—about a 20-minute walk.
On the way to the mall, as if remembering something, Li Yitong leaned in close to Su Li and said,
“Xiao Li, come to think of it, I’ve never seen you wear a skirt. I feel like you’d look really pretty in one~”
At those words, a flicker of something unreadable passed through Su Li’s eyes.
That was absolutely on purpose.
Li Yitong had probably calculated that, if Su Li were a reborn person, she might have some subconscious resistance to wearing skirts—and so she dropped this line deliberately.
So this shopping trip wasn’t just a casual stroll after all, was it?
But then again, Su Li wasn’t naive enough to think that Li Yitong had invited her out today purely to go shopping.
Su Li blinked and said,
“I’ve worn skirts before, you know.”
It’s just a skirt, right? It’s not like she hadn’t worn them before in her past life… ahem! Anyway, wearing a skirt wasn’t any kind of challenge for her.
“Really?”
Li Yitong’s smile deepened as she continued chatting casually about other topics with Su Li.
While Su Li responded to her, she was also thinking to herself—
For this shopping trip… should she be prepared to buy a few things that might impede the progress and evolution of mankind?
