Chapter 385: Banquet
To be honest, the attitude of the Kujo family was much better than Chu Jiang had imagined. Even though he had refused them, they still extended a second polite invitation.
However, after being reminded by the Soga family, Chu Jiang naturally became more cautious. As the saying goes, a barking dog doesn’t bite; a malicious fox also tends to not reveal its fangs in advance.
"Mr. Kujo is being polite. We don’t need to care about the rumors outside. Let’s focus on our own duties."
"Forget about the other party, I need to fully rest tonight because I’ll be going to Ghost Abyss tomorrow morning."
Since the other person was polite, Chu Jiang responded in a relatively calm manner.
Seeing Chu Jiang still refusing, Kujo Yoshii became anxious. He took out a handkerchief and wiped the sweat from his forehead, saying, "Captain Chu, please give us a chance. The Kujo family really hopes to form alliances with some world-renowned strong individuals, not just you."
"If it’s really not possible, you can tell me your demands now. As long as you’re willing to come, anything can be negotiated."
Chu Jiang narrowed his eyes slightly. The Kujo family was offering him a "participation fee" without even mentioning any requests. This made him more suspicious of their motives.
Uesugi Hinagiku sat beside Chu Jiang, seemingly playing with a tablet while keeping her head slightly lowered. However, her left hand "accidentally" touched Chu Jiang, as if suggesting him not to go.
After giving it some thought, Chu Jiang said, "I don’t mind going for a bit, but it’s understood that I won’t stay for long."
His thinking was simple. Based on the Kujo family’s enthusiasm, even if he didn’t go today, they would find a way to create an opportunity for a private conversation with him sooner or later.
In that case, it was better for Chu Jiang to take the initiative and see what these people wanted to do.
If they really have bad intentions, then Chu Jiang doesn’t mind getting rid of this "Kujo family" before going to Ghost Abyss!
Seeing that Chu Jiang finally agreed, Kujo Yoshii was overjoyed, and Kujo Kazuki also smiled and nodded.
"Then we won’t bother you here anymore. We’ll talk about everything when we meet tonight."
After the Kujo family and their group left the office, Hinagiku looked at Chu Jiang with confusion and asked, "Why didn’t you refuse? They wouldn’t dare to force Mr. Chu."
Chu Jiang gently tapped her forehead and said, "Children shouldn’t ask too many questions."
Hinagiku covered her head and replied indignantly, "I’m not a child."
……
The Roppongi district, Ritz-Carlton Hotel, 7 PM that evening.
This hotel occupies the top nine floors of the Tokyo Midtown Tower, as well as the first three floors; it has 245 modern rooms, an indoor pool, a restaurant, a sauna, and world-class spa facilities.
When Chu Jiang arrived, two beautiful waitresses immediately approached him and led him to the top floor using the elevator.
The Kujo family booked room 4812, which was a combination of Japanese and Western styles.
After opening the wooden sliding door, you could see a high-end decorated wooden floor corridor. Walking inside, you would find the bathroom, dressing room, living room, bedroom, study, and so on.
As Chu Jiang walked into the spacious Japanese-style living room, he found seven people already waiting for him.
The floor in the living room was covered with straw mats, and on the right wall, there was a calligraphy painting of the phrase "Nothing exists originally." On the left side, there were beautifully displayed porcelain wares.
In one corner of the living room, there was a mini bar counter. Through the window directly across, guests could enjoy the bustling Tokyo night view and even catch a glimpse of the Tokyo Tower.
After taking a quick look around the surroundings, Chu Jiang finally turned his attention to the seven people kneeling in front of wooden tables.
Surprisingly, the person sitting at the center was not Kujo Yoshii, but a glamorous woman dressed as a geisha in black. She didn’t have the scary white heavy makeup but a modern look, including light eye shadow and bright lipstick.
Her appearance was enchanting, with long black hair tied up with a silver hairpin. She had a faint smile on her lips, a small cherry-like nose, and eyes shimmering with watery waves. The corners of her eyes slightly lifted, giving her a typical peach blossom eye shape.
Her outfit was revealing, showing off her smooth and delicate shoulders completely, but her towering chest was wrapped in a white band, which made her look attractive yet decent.
Additionally, there seemed to be large tattoos on her back. Chu Jiang could roughly make out the outline of a dragon tattoo from the corner.
In front of this woman, on both sides, there were six seats. Kujo Yoshii and Kujo Kazuki were there; the rest of them were probably high-ranking members of the Kujo family. They had serious expressions and were mostly dressed in black suits. As soon as they saw Chu Jiang arrive, they all stood up at the same time.
"Welcome, Captain Chu!" When they spoke, everyone except Yashii and Kazuki bowed politely to Chu Jiang.
"Please have a seat, Captain Chu." Kujo Yoshii’s chubby face trembled as he reached out his right hand towards the seat next to the geisha woman.
Chu Jiang raised an eyebrow, but didn’t say anything. He just walked over to the prepared seat and sat down cross-legged.
As soon as everyone was present, Kujo Yoshii immediately clapped his hands to have the food and drinks served.
The drinks included sake, of course, as well as high-quality Western spirits and Kyushu’s Moutai, mainly to ensure Chu Jiang would find something to his liking.
Most of the dishes were Japanese cuisine and were known for being expensive and exquisitely decorated omakase, which means each dish was small but beautifully presented.
The ingredients used in the dishes are mostly fresh and expensive, such as bluefin tuna belly, New Zealand king salmon, and Siberian sturgeon caviar.
When all the dishes were served, the geisha approached Chu Jiang "considerately" and asked him in a soft voice which kind of wine he would like to drink, and poured him a full glass.
This woman had a peculiar fragrance on her body, which Chu Jiang found difficult to describe. He only felt that it was more mellow than the usual scent of women, but without the slightly strong and artificial smell of perfume, more natural.
"Captain Chu, it’s rare for you to come to Tokyo. Tonight, let’s not discuss those boring work matters. We won’t stop until we’re drunk!"
Saying this, Kujo Yoshii raised his glass and toasted Chu Jiang from a distance, and others also raised their glasses in agreement.
But Chu Jiang didn’t pick up his glass in response. He just glanced at his watch on his right hand and said calmly, "I will leave in thirty minutes. If you don’t want to talk about anything, then it’s fine with me."
Kujo Yoshii’s face stiffened for a moment, with a hint of annoyance in his eyes, but he managed to hold it back. He forced a smile and said, "Captain Chu, you seem too impatient. Let me put it this way, the main purpose of inviting you here today is to discuss cooperation matters."
"I wonder, does Captain Chu have any interest in our country? Do they desire more rights, greater power, a bigger stage?"
"We, the Kujo family, can provide all of these to you. After all, you are a rare strong individual that is scarcely found worldwide, and naturally, strong individuals are eligible to choose better options…"
