Chapter 96: Breaking Through the Earth-Shaking Cauldron
After You You departed, only Feng Rong remained inside the Earth-Shaking Cauldron. The chaotic energy grew denser, black mist flooding every corner and lunging at him violently. Crimson flames burst forth with blooming red lotuses, scattering the darkness momentarily. Yet as the wild energy intensified, the fiery glow began fading like washed-out paint, threatening to dim into ordinary flames.
Even Feng Rong’s physical form started dissolving alongside the dying fire. He stared at his translucent hands, clenching them slowly. "Still can’t sustain true fire in this state…" he muttered through gritted teeth.
The black mist now completely sealed the rift he’d torn earlier. His energy reserves dwindled rapidly, body flickering like candlelight about to extinguish. Though flames roared and dark energy howled around him, an eerie silence settled in his chest – that hollow loneliness he’d endured for millennia felt suddenly unbearable.
Too quiet… like the entire World had abandoned him again.
Yet when he glanced upward through the swirling darkness, a white-clad figure materialized in his mind – that familiar disciple-robed woman who always came running. Her voice seemed to echo through the void.
"Feng Rong!"

His eyes snapped open. Not an illusion – she was really here, plummeting toward him with clumsy sword control! She stumbled upon landing, grabbing his arm for balance. Warmth flooded through her palm into his chest, dissolving shadows like morning sun burning off fog.
"I’m back. You okay?" You You looked up.
Feng Rong’s throat tightened. Anger quickly masked his relief. "Why return?!" he barked, voice cracking. "Had your escape!"
"Couldn’t leave you!" She snatched the sword from his grip, conjuring a Spirit Sword. "Lin Feng’s group needed saving, but so do you! Hold tight – my flying’s rusty."
Before he could protest, she yanked him onto the blade. They shot upward like loosed arrows. As black mist loomed, You You unleashed Sword God’s Heaven-Defying Strike, bellowing her battle cry:
"Heart free of men, blades heed gods’ pen!"
Sword light erupted, tsunami-like energy smashing through the darkness to reveal the cauldron’s golden phantom. The strike collided with a thunderous CLANG – only to rebound as shattered shards!

"Cursed cauldron’s got a Feedback Mechanism?!" You You swerved wildly as deadly fragments ricocheted toward them.
"Hopeless fool…" Feng Rong caught her waist mid-fall, seizing sword control. Flames ignited in his eyes. "Forget other men. Your heart must keep space for me."
Before she could react, blazing fire engulfed them – painless yet intense. A phoenix cry pierced the air as he transformed into a magnificent fire phoenix, scarlet lotuses blooming in their wake. Space warped above as he tore a fresh rift, carrying them through in a final surge.
The phoenix flickered out upon exit, Feng Rong collapsing human again. You You barely cushioned their landing. "Feng, what’s—" Her words died as white glow enveloped his fading form.
"My clone disperses," he murmured, embracing her tightly. "Find my true body in the Nirvana Realm. Promise me!" His lips brushed hers in a ghostly kiss. "We keep this vow."
She reached for him as he dissolved into light motes. Her hands closed on empty air.
"……"
