Chapter 2: The Roaring Beast Tide
You You immediately decided to sprint toward where the meteor had fallen. Though unsure if it was her imagination, her body felt strangely light, covering hundreds of meters within moments. Stranger still, her senses amplified wildly—though her eyes saw nothing, her mind perceived everything for miles.
She detected peculiar tremors, different from the meteor’s earthquake-like impact. These vibrations felt rhythmic, paired with distant rumbles that grew louder. A chorus of roars echoed faintly but ceaselessly.
Halting abruptly, she focused ahead. Dark masses surged toward her from the horizon. Despite the distance, she somehow saw them clearly—monstrous creatures of grotesque shapes, some mountain-sized, others swarming in hordes, all charging madly in her direction.
You You’s eyes widened. What the hell were these things?!
(⊙_⊙)
Shock, terror, panic—all erupted into one primal urge. She sucked in a breath and screamed:
“RUN!”
Whirling around, she bolted, pushing herself to the limit. Yet the monstrous tide kept gaining.
Panicking, she forced herself to think. Maybe danger unlocked hidden potential. As a science student, she instinctively calculated escape odds: at current speeds, collision would occur in forty minutes. If she maintained this path and distance, she might survive—if nothing went wrong.
But then—
Her enhanced senses detected human presence a few miles to her right.
After two hours alone in the forest, people! And they stood motionless, oblivious to the approaching calamity.
What were they doing? Waiting to die?!
As the beasts drew nearer, she cursed and veered toward the strangers.

Nearby, seven hunters encircled a two-meter-tall Green Spotted Beast. Gripping swords, ropes, and knives, they tensely faced the wounded monster.
“Damn Tier Three beast!” Liu Qing hissed, shooting Lin Feng a panicked glance. “Boss, it’s too strong!”
“Focus!” Lin Feng barked, brow furrowed. “Its tail’s poisonous. Target the belly.” He’d never expected a Tier Three monster at the forest’s edge. Dangerous, but beatable.
The team tightened their circle, weapons prodding the beast whenever it lunged. Injured and enraged, the creature suddenly charged right.
“Deng Sheng! Wang Xiao! Contain it!” Liu Qing yelled.
But this time, the beast ignored their attacks, chomping down on Wang Xiao’s left arm.
“WANG XIAO!” Lin Feng slashed his sword, sending blade-wind into the beast’s eyes. Blood sprayed.
The monster howled, releasing Wang Xiao to thrash on the ground. Then flames erupted across its body, incinerating the grass beneath.
“MUTATED?!” Liu Qing choked.
A Tier Four equivalent—deadly even for Foundation Establishment cultivators, which none of them were. The team paled, retreating.
“Use fire talismans! Stay calm!” Lin Feng ordered.
“Boss…” Blood-drenched Wang Xiao whispered. Only Lin Feng might survive a Tier Four’s strike. Escape seemed impossible.
“Retreat quietly when I signal,” Lin Feng said. “It’s blind now. Move softly.”
Nodding, the team activated talismans and crept backward.
The flaming beast stopped thrashing, sniffing blindly. It spun in confused circles.
It worked!
Hope flickered as they inched away, following Lin Feng’s gestures.
Then—
A white figure crashed through the left foliage.
“LEAVE NOW!” You You shouted.
The team froze, gaping at the sudden intruder. Their eyes bulged in shock.
A… female?!
Impossible!
