Chapter 7: You Are A Clown
As we well know, Winnie is a refined and amiable person who generally doesn’t swear, unless he encounters some utterly unreasonable individuals.
Mother Fucker.
In the original work, Winnie was a lunatic for Mirexia, but the one in front of him is the bigger fighter, licking until there’s nothing left.
Actually, following the template of a normal game, this knight boy should at least get some soup, but unfortunately, this is a yuri-oriented game, and if you’re born the wrong gender, you get nothing.
Who would have thought that in the end, the princess he pursued for years would be swept off her feet by another woman!
And yet, he still says, “Your gaze doesn’t have to fall on me, but if you’re willing, I’ll always be your knight.”
Just in terms of being a clown, buddy, you’re even more skilled than the original Winnie, huh??
Naturally, such a person is undoubtedly a great enemy of the original Winnie.
In the original game, Winnie was also helpless against this guy, couldn’t beat him, couldn’t scold him, and most of the time could only leave with a harsh word.
In the end, this guy was also one of the main forces in beating the blackened Winnie.
No surprise, the incident at last night’s banquet is still brewing, and his memory recovery seems to be ill-timed?
“What’s the matter?” Winnie asked with an attitude of not being familiar with you.
“This is the royal palace, no idlers are allowed in. Go back where you came from, don’t make me personally escort you out.” Charon looked down at Winnie, his tone full of command.
Well, really pretending not to know?
Winnie was a bit puzzled.
In the original game, everyone was a clown, no one should criticize another, at most the degree is different, it’s just a case of the pot calling the kettle black, what are you so proud of here?
“Idlers are not allowed in? Then you shouldn’t be here either.”
Winnie crossed his arms, looking at Charon with a playful smile.
“Don’t joke, Winnie, I am a member of the Wrathful Dragon Knights, I train and patrol in the royal palace, and you? What reason and qualification do you have to enter the royal palace?”
Okay, now Winnie understood, this guy is upset that he always has reasons to enter the palace to find Mirexia, and this time he probably suspects that he’s here to find his beloved princess.
Ah, young love.
“Oh, so you do know me? Really, we’re old acquaintances, and you still pretend not to know, I thought you had amnesia.”
“Don’t try to get close to me, who’s your old acquaintance??”
“Not getting close to you? Fine, then I won’t be polite, if you have something to say, go tell the King, I’m very busy now, no time to waste with a lonely boy who’s too afraid to confess his love, bye.” Winnie waved his hand and was about to leave, perhaps it was the last sentence that angered Charon, as he blocked Winnie again.
“………”
Buddy, are you a nut wall? Blocking me, is there a pie to eat?
If possible, Winnie would like to throw out a handkerchief and have a knight’s duel with this guy, but he can only think about it, after all, he’s a genius with four-star magic talent who joined the Wrathful Dragon Knights on his own strength, if they really fought, he’d be hammered into the background.
“Hmph, some mad dog scoundrel who’s been disliked by the princess doesn’t know his own weight, dares to confess in public, and ends up falling into the water, becoming a drowned dog.”
“That’s still better than some coward who only dares to have a crush but not confess, at least I have the courage, I dare to say it out loud.” Winnie didn’t care.
“You!” Charon was furious. “Winnie, say that again, who are you calling a coward??”
Ah, so young people are still too young, easily provoked to anger.
“Huh?” Winnie pretended to be very surprised, looking around.
“I didn’t say who? What is that person in the palace? Or do you know who it is? Oh, don’t jump to conclusions.”
“Win-nie!” Charon felt like he had swallowed a fly and couldn’t spit it out.
“It seems, I need to personally escort you out.” Charon’s fists clenched with a cracking sound.
“Come on, just follow the proper procedure. Call the other Wrathful Dragon Knights over, say I trespassed into the royal palace, and throw me into the dungeon,” Winnie said with a smile.
“If you say so,” Charon replied coldly.
“Sigh,” Winnie shook his head.
“Why are you sighing?”
“I’m sighing because a boy in love really has zero IQ. But well, it’s understandable. It’s actually better this way. If his intelligence was always this low, then his whole life would be doomed,” Winnie spread his hands.
“What did you just say?!”
“Use that tiny brain of yours that you barely ever use. Do you really think the two Wrathful Dragon Knights guarding the palace gate are just there for show? Would they let me in without a reason?”
Charon was about to explode in anger when a cold yet elegant voice, as clear as an orchid blooming in a secluded valley, rang out from behind him.
“Sir Charon, who are you quarreling with?”
The moment he heard that beautiful voice, Charon, who had been fuming just a second ago, felt as if a bucket of cold water had been dumped over his head.
He instantly calmed down, transforming from an unrelenting, hot-headed boy into a courteous knight.
He respectfully turned around and gave the golden-haired princess behind him a perfect knight’s salute.
“Tsk, tsk, tsk…” Winnie clicked his tongue in amusement.
Two-faced, huh?
In truth, Winnie had noticed Mirexia not far behind Charon long ago.
It was just that Charon was so heated and out of control that he hadn’t even noticed the approaching sound of high heels striking the floor.
“My apologies. It was my negligence for not realizing Your Highness had arrived,” Charon said as he knelt on one knee, placing a hand over his chest.
His gaze toward Mirexia was filled with reverence, mixed with a deeply hidden hint of longing and a touch of nervousness.
She didn’t hear what I said just now… right?
Charon couldn’t help but feel a little uneasy.
Winnie gazed at the radiant girl not far away, her presence as dazzling as sunlight.
Her noble golden twin-tails, like flowing molten gold, cascaded gracefully down to her knees.
Her thick golden lashes cast fan-like shadows over her porcelain face, while her deep blue eyes gleamed like sapphires from the ocean’s depths.
Though still young, her posture was strikingly proud and elegant.
She carried an air of pure nobility, cold, untouchable, like a distant alpine flower that could only be admired from afar.
For a moment, Winnie found himself slightly dazed, but he quickly regained his composure.
No wonder the original Winnie had been so infatuated.
Seeing her in person was a completely different experience from simply recalling her.
Now that Mirexia had arrived, Winnie knew that with her keeping Charon in check, there was no need for him to argue further.
He gave Mirexia a simple bow, the standard etiquette when meeting royalty, nodded slightly in acknowledgment, and then turned to leave, without any unnecessary gestures or words.
Mirexia watched his departing figure, her clear sapphire eyes flickering with confusion and surprise.
She couldn’t quite figure out what game this notorious troublemaker was playing today.
First, in the morning, he visited the church, a place he had never set foot in before, and spent a long time in prayer.
Now, in the afternoon, he had come to the royal palace, but not to bother her as he usually did.
In the past, every time Winnie saw her, he would shamelessly rush over regardless of the occasion, acting overly familiar, showering her with unwanted concern that made her skin crawl.
He constantly pulled ridiculous stunts and publicly said strange and troubling things.
She had expected today to be no different, but instead, he had merely greeted her politely before leaving, as if even that greeting had been done out of sheer obligation.
It was as if… he now kept a respectful distance from her.
Winnie’s behavior was so out of character that it felt as absurd as the sun rising in the west.
The drastic change left Mirexia with a strong sense of dissonance, like watching a lifelong drunk suddenly become a model citizen, utterly bizarre.
Yet, despite her surprise, she didn’t dwell on it too much.
She simply assumed Winnie had found yet another way to get her attention.
It was hard to blame her, years of ingrained impressions weren’t easily changed.
Charon, standing beside her, was equally stunned.
He had been sure that Winnie, the brazen troublemaker, had come to the palace once again to pester Princess Mirexia and had been ready to teach him a lesson.
But now… it seemed that wasn’t the case?
