Chapter 91: This Shrimp Head is Small, Not Yellow 8/8
"Cough cough… sizzle… sizzle…"
Once the "Saltwater Queen," now the captain of the "Son of the Giant God"—Albert Drake struggled in the etheric liquid, floating up and down.
The fierce restoration force of the etheric liquid aggressively eroded her body, but it was kept at bay by the Holy Light from the Sun. Her close-fitting combat suit also had some capability to defend against the etheric liquid.
However, this protection couldn’t last long.
It would soon be exhausted by the endless etheric liquid.
But compared to the demon god before her, the etheric liquid was trivial.
"Indeed, the gap between humans and gods was still too great!"
Albert Drake looked at the "Son of the Giant God," which had already been "cracked open" by the Chaos Demon God, and shook her head helplessly.
The ship had done its best.
In the previous battle, it continuously struck the Chaos Demon God’s belly with the "Smashing Claw," granted by the Giant God and crafted by hardworking artisans, making the Chaos Demon God howl in pain.
But getting it to howl in pain was the limit of the "Son of the Giant God."
The majesty of the deity and the chaos councilor was not so easily violated!
How could mortals effortlessly injure such a powerful deity?
Soon, the Son of the Giant God became a primary target, and the chaos deity’s massive Limbs kicked it away. The sharp claws charged with magic power pierced into the head of the "Son of the Giant God," directly tearing off the roof of the bridge command room!
After Albert Drake used magic to shove all her subordinates into the adjacent cabin and closed the door tightly, she was swept out by the violent currents, exposing her to the etheric liquid.
"Roar roar roar roar roar——!"
Now, the massive body of the Chaos Demon God loomed before her.
"Perhaps, in front of this genuine demon god, I was just a speck of dust."
"The battleship I was proud of was just a trivial little bug…"
Even though the "Son of the Giant God" and the "Giant God’s Radiance" were of the same class, with a length of 200 meters, making it a giant ship, the demon god’s enormous armored head was already larger than the Giant God’s Radiance!
It was covered with all sorts of spikes, and thick Chaos Energy burned on its outer shell, giving off a maddening aura.
However, in the face of such a terrifying entity, Albert Drake only wanted to laugh.
She let out a relieved laugh.
"Yes, what were we like before?"
"As soon as we saw the Chaos Demon God, we lost our will to resist, kneeling on the ground in madness, weak-willed individuals vomiting and losing control, displaying all kinds of ugly behaviors."
"Like maggots."
"And now? We can face such a powerful being calmly!"
"Mortals, including myself, had grown so much; what did I have left to be dissatisfied with?"
Albert Drake believed that even if she perished in this etheric liquid, her comrades would become braver and stronger under the guidance of the Giant God!
Until one day, mortals would be able to bare their fangs of slaughter at the detestable chaos!
Of course, Albert Drake was also amused.
The Chaos Demon God, now missing an eye, looked utterly ridiculous.
“Pfft…”
“Chaos Demon God, councilor level? Seems rather unimpressive!”
“Taste mortal fangs!”
Holy Light from the Sun surged through her arms, coalescing into a radiant spear!
“Go—!”
“Swish—!”
“Thud—!”
The light spear struck the Chaos Demon God’s body and bounced off.
“Again!”
“Buzz—!”
Another light spear materialized.
“Swish—!”
It deflected yet again!
“Roar roar roar roar roar——!”
Enraged by the mockery, the Chaos Demon God bellowed wildly, lumbering forward.
Confronted by the Outer God’s terrifying maw, Albert Drake mustered her final strength, screaming—“Go to hell! You filthy maggot god!”
Yet another light spear took form!
“Long live the Giant God!”
“Buzz—!”
With a heroic cry, the spear shot forth once more!
Meanwhile, the Chaos Demon God broke free from other battleships and lunged forward, determined to crush this insolent “insect”!
But at that instant…
“Crash—!”
“Roar!”
Tasmar howled in agony as colossal force slammed his head downward!
A massive weight plummeted from above, smashing violently onto the Chaos Demon God’s skull!
“Roar!”
The Chaos Demon God roared furiously—until He saw what struck Him. His wrathful bellow morphed into a shriek of terror!
It was half a corpse of an etheric serpent!
—-
Trilobite observed the battle between his pet trilobite and that shrimp-like creature.
"Very pleased, very comforting!"
Seeing his cultivated Trilobites display fearless spirit, charging forward one after another with clear tactics against a much stronger enemy, Trilobite felt proud.
"A few more of these Trilobites and they’d truly have the makings of a swarm."
"Children, well done!"
"Your fearless spirit deserves praise!"
Watching the tiny Trilobites throw themselves forward one after another created an electrifying feeling.
As Trilobite got caught up in the excitement…
"Crunch—!"
"Oh no! Got too excited and accidentally bit the food in half."
Seeing the lower half of the double-finned fish drop from the hole he’d dug into the water below, landing right on that giant shrimp, Trilobite knew it was time to take action himself.
"Hmm…"
"They’ve shed their fear, but there still aren’t enough of them."
"Can’t win like this for now."
"Should boost their nutrition later—maybe plant a tree so they can ferment fungi using the leaves…"
"Ah, getting ahead of myself. Right now, I need to finish you off!"
"Half-meter-long giant shrimp!"
"To be precise, the ancestor of the Tasmanian mountain shrimp? I’ll call you ‘Mud Swamp Shrimp’!"
Truthfully, this Carboniferous-era ancient shrimp had a scientific name, Palaeocarissecretanae, untranslated domestically. Being the direct ancestor of Tasmanian mountain shrimp with unchanged appearance for hundreds of millions years while inhabiting swamps, Trilobite dubbed it "Mud Swamp Shrimp".
Judging solely by its shell, it did bear some resemblance to a "shrimp".
It possessed a shrimp-like body, shrimp-like head, and shrimp-like "head spikes".
Yet its head hadn’t fused into a single cephalothorax like modern shrimp, retaining a primitive segmented structure that made it look rather odd.
Compared to more evolved shrimp, its limbs remained primitive—barely specialized, lacking functional components like pincers.
Such shrimp existed in ancient times and still inhabit Tasmanian mountain streams. Unlike Tasmanian mountain shrimp however, it sported an extra "head spike", marking it as slightly more evolved.
After professionally pondering its evolutionary lineage, Trilobite remembered another matter.
"Without a cephalothorax…"
"This thing must pack more meat than regular shrimp!"
"But with a smaller head, less roe probably!"
"Well, trade-offs."
"Actually, none of that matters!"
"Because this thing is enormous!"
"A nearly half-meter-long giant shrimp!"
At this thought, Trilobite eagerly dove downward, jaws gaping wide as he lunged at the "Mud Swamp Shrimp"!
