Chapter 74: World Magic, Activate! Crystal Walls, Shut Down!
“Chief of Staff Bohimond, immediately establish a sub-channel with the Purity Officers. Help them withdraw the civilian followers.”
“These people are too fanatical. Right now, the Giant God’s slaughtering joyfully—friendly fire is likely!”
“Albert Drake, organize the musketeer squad into the rear guard. We must retreat inland gradually.”
“Supreme Mentor Glade, if possible, share your vision with capable Ashen Knights. Warriors in the fleet yearn to witness the Giant God’s battle!”
…
Far beneath the sea aboard the Giant God’s Radiance, Sulya calmly issued command after command.
The primary mission for Order-side—or the armies of the "Giant God" and "Holy Light"—wasn’t harvesting cornered, collapsing demons.
Instead, the critical task was retreat: withdrawing swiftly into the continent’s depths to avoid the God’s War’s fallout!
To rally everyone, Sulya announced "heavenly tidings" for the faithful:
“The Giant God’s will has descended!”
“His oracle is proclaimed!”
“He calls us ‘children’—acknowledging us as His noble, radiant offspring!”
Sulya’s words plunged the Soul Network into momentary silence…
Then…
“Oh—!”
“Hooray—!”
“Great is the Giant God!”
“Praise the Giant God!”
…
A tsunami of roars erupted across the Soul Network.
Joy flooded the network, reaching even Trilobite—who was playing "one bite, one child"—filling him with delight.
In reality, every Ashen Knight, chosen knight, and Solar Knight cheered wildly.
Their heartfelt cries soared skyward.
A supreme deity who saved the world recognized mortals’ worth? Claimed them as His offspring!?
Such boundless mercy! What glory for those serving Him!
And at that moment…
Glade activated vision-sharing through the Soul Network.
Crewmen aboard warships and retreating soldiers alike witnessed the God’s War’s splendor!
They saw how the Giant God handled the chaos deity.
“Tsk…”
“Hiss…”
Although many people harbored deep hatred toward the Chaotic Forces, witnessing the Giant God’s actions against those chaos deities made them question whether their own feelings could even be called hatred.
And then…
"What grudges could the Giant God possibly hold against chaos!?"
But just then…
"Huh?"
Amid the cheers, Sylvia realized the "Deposed Noble" lady, Arachne, had disappeared.
"She was right here moments ago!"
—-
Not only the followers of order were thinking about this. Even the "victims," writhing in agony, grappled with the same question.
"Zzz—!"
Demon God Wabla—the creature Trilobite saw as a "Hibert horseshoe crab"—lay severely wounded. Though Trilobite hadn’t yet targeted him, Wabla couldn’t escape, his main divine organs crippled.
Agony tore through him as he felt his divine power leaking away.
Yet Wabla’s eyes still tracked the movements of that bizarre demon god: devouring.
"This fiend… is too cruel… ugh…"
The terrifying being—whose divine form matched Wabla’s but radiated greater power—glowed fiercely as it tortured its subordinate official.
The subordinate resembled a colossal shrimp; to Trilobite, it looked like nothing more than armored crustacean cannon fodder.
"Gaaa—!"
The massive deity clamped down on the creature’s limb and ripped it clean off!
"Crack!"
The severed limb flew free.
"Crunch… crunch…"
The enormous jaws locked onto the joint, crushing it relentlessly, squeezing out the flesh within before swallowing it whole.
"Thud!"
Once the first limb was consumed, the next…
"Crunch—!"
…was torn off just as viciously.
With horrifying patience, the savage god ripped off each limb one by one, crushing them until the prey was whittled down to a limp "shrimp stick"!
Finally, it wrenched open the creature’s "skull," tore out the energy core resembling a "stomach" from its divine body, and gorged on the divine flesh inside!
"Zzz—zzz—!"
The unprecedented, brutal torture made the Secondary Chaos God tremble in anguish. But the attacker showed no mercy, coldly employing every cruel method to slowly kill and torment its victim to death!
"What… what kind of monster is he!?"
“This was horrifying… such aimless ‘torture’ was utterly terrifying!”
“That creature absolutely wasn’t the God of Light!”
“Perhaps an existence even more dreadful and twisted than us Chaos Demon Gods!”
Even the Chaos Demon God Wabla might sever an enemy’s limbs one by one.
But gnawing on them publicly, then snapping off another piece while devouring his foe alive…
Wabla would never stoop to that.
This conduct surpassed chaos itself!
Sadly, he had no time to ponder further.
“Burp—!”
Seemingly intoxicated by the “torture,” the “savage Giant God” released a roar of ravenous satisfaction.
Its cruel, greedy gaze fixed upon Wabla—gutted and helpless on his back.
“Thud… thud… thud…”
Fins undulating slowly, its massive body swayed side-to-side as it advanced—like a predator stalking beetles by the shore!
“No—! No—!”
Wabla writhed, terrified, howling.
Futilely.
“Crunch—!”
“Agh—AAAAAH—!”
Excruciating pain erupted as the monstrous deity plunged its head into Wabla’s abdomen, ripping out his “energy core”—and with it, his divine core!
“Thud!”
The priceless divine core was discarded like rubbish.
In his final moments, a realization struck…
“Gimmerly! It had to be Gimmerly!”
Gimmerly—the core councilor whom Wabla had framed, robbing her of the chance to trigger the Time of the End—had once cursed him: “May you be wholly devoured by a loathsome, savage monster!”
Wabla had dismissed it as mere rage.
Now, facing death, he understood…
“That b*tch’s curse was deadly serious!”
“My final words—Gimmerly destroyed me!!!”
“Agh—!”
A final shriek echoed as a wisp of fractured consciousness escaped his divine form, pierced the realm’s Crystal Walls, and vanished into the void.
This last remnant of his soul couldn’t regenerate—yet after drifting for days, weeks, or months, it would reach Subspace. There, it would deliver his message to the Chaos Council’s members.
“Fsssh…”
The body of the Hibert horseshoe crab gradually ceased its struggles and plunged into the abyss of death.
Wabla, the middle councilor of the Chaos Council, thus perished in such a horrific act!
While Trilobite busied himself devouring the Hibert horseshoe crab’s remains,
"Zzz… hum…"
The divine rank lying on the ground trembled faintly as the "Powers" within were seized!
—-
[Hoo…]
[Hmm, confirming this is just me talking to myself, not overheard by that fellow.]
[How remarkable—this guy actually stumbled into saving the world!?]
[Anyway… heave-ho…]
[Ocean’s Powers—acquired! Earth’s Powers—secured!]
[A portion of the Sky’s Powers—also obtained!]
[Plus this Chaos Demon God’s divine energy…]
[Elements finally gathered!]
[After a week’s preparation… the world spell activates at last!]
[Reinforcing the World’s Wall commences!]
[Crystal Walls! Seal shut! Sever Subspace’s main artery! Chaos! Your days of massive invasion end here!]
…
Just as the spell took effect…
"My, my, if it isn’t little Themis! Quite selfish to abandon the ‘savior’ here, don’t you think?"
It was the voice of Lady Arachne, the Deposed Noble!
Though her tone remained familiar, the oppressive "darkness" and "despair" had vanished, replaced by playful mockery.
"With little Themis, I can drop all pretenses. This persona mask? Finally disposable."
"Now then, explain yourself,"
"You sneaky little cat!"
[Ah!?]
Hearing this, System Lady—or rather, Ms. Themis—let out a guilty yelp, like a child caught mid-mischief.
