Chapter 46: Finally an Official Ear Blade
“Kill—!”
“Fight for the merciful Giant God!”
The voice of living saint Sulya echoed across all battleships; flat, three-sectioned warships roamed the sea.
They constantly swept past the once terrifying demons and mutated chaotic humans.
“Blood sacrifice for the Giant God! Offerings to the divine throne!”
The Solar Knights shouted with high spirits, standing proudly on the hulls as they greedily eyed the "prey" floundering in the water.
Prey indeed!
Unlike the ocean-adapted demons that had previously surrounded them—those magically specialized for the Ocean Environment—these waterlogged demons became hopelessly clumsy.
Slaying them proved as simple as harvesting wheat.
Yet the Solar Knights showed no hurry, having slain only half the chaotic demons. They readied ropes infused with Holy Light from the Sun, binding captured demons and chaos-infected humans alike!
“Captain Dekhaka!”
“What a fine harvest today!”
A young Solar Knight grinned, gripping a rope that dragged a chain of terrifying demons and mutated humans.
“My first sortie, yet the haul’s this bountiful!”
“Splendid!”
The young knight’s face glowed with the joy of a farmer surveying full granaries, not a warrior returning from battle.
“Hmm, well done.”
Captain Dekhaka gave an encouraging pat to the young warrior’s shoulder.
“Our vessel’s full and steadily returning.”
“Might as well do it aboard!”
“Demons go to you youngsters. These infected wretches… leave to us officers.”
The young knight shook his head in earnest trepidation.
“Captain Dekhaka, how could we accept?”
“The tiring work should…”
…
“That’s an order!”
Dekhaka cut through the knight’s humility with command.
Moved, the youth saluted before seizing a nearby demon.
“Roar—release me!”
“Despicable humans! You’ll pay for—”
“Hey? Spare… spare me!”
The demon initially hurled vicious threats, spewing cunning and arrogant insults.
But when they saw the knight raise his great sword, they instantly begged for mercy.
Too bad cowardice was useless.
“Pshhh—!”
The great sword swung down!
The demon’s twisted head landed in the young knight’s grip.
“Hiss…”
Intoxicated, he shut his eyes as power from the demon surged into him. Yet the Chaos Energy didn’t rage—purified and assimilated by the "divine power of the Giant God" and "Holy Light from the Sun," it became his own!
The absorption lasted minutes. When the young Solar Knight reopened his eyes…
“Buzz—!”
Power far greater than before radiated from him!
Every cell boiled and strengthened with the flood of energy!
“Great is the Giant God!”
“Praise the generous Giant God!”
Kneeling, the young knight prayed toward the Giant God still “battling” upon the sea.
That very generosity granted all Solar Knights the capability to draw energy from demons and chaos-infected beings!
Such selflessness was unheard of!
Most gods hesitated to bless followers too richly—the wiser and stronger their devotees grew, the more those gods feared them.
How could “tools” or “things” be permitted to strengthen, risking surpassing their masters!?
The “Giant God” held no such fears.
He lavished gifts upon followers and even granted them self-growth—slay demons, purify Chaos Energy, and claim part of that power!
“Utter selflessness!”
“Purest nobility!”
“In the abyss’s depths, hearts ablaze with light!”
“Pride fills us who serve such a god!”
“Now then…”
“Swish—!”
The young Solar Knight raised his longsword anew, advancing toward the next chaotic demon writhing in terror and despair!
Elsewhere…
“Ugh… agh…”
Screams tore from humans infected by chaos.
However, the screams didn’t seem to come from his true self, but from a part of him—the portion infected by chaos that had become "demonic."
Opposite him, Captain Dekhaka extended his hand.
In his palm, the dazzling "Holy Light from the Sun" flickered.
Yet this time, it wasn’t burning—it was drawing in!
He saw horns on the forehead, disgusting sores, tumor-like growths, and tentacles being violently pulled from the human body by some terrifying force.
Under the Holy Light’s glow, they gradually melted into pure energy, merging into the Solar Knight’s body.
“No—ah—!”
With a sharp scream, a creature emerged—its torso like a human child’s but with octopus legs and bizarre horns covering its forehead—sucked out from the "chaotic human."
It thrashed in the Holy Light but soon melted into energy like earlier chaos fragments, absorbed by the Solar Knight.
“Whew…”
Captain Dekhaka stared at the fallen, emaciated yet now normal-looking human, shock flashing in his eyes.
“That creature just expelled by Holy Light and absorbed by the Giant God’s power must be the lowest demon rank—the ‘Demon Child’."
“These parasites infest other beings, spreading infection until they fully possess the host, twisting it into a demonic creature!”
“Theoretically, this corruption is irreversible.”
“I joined the ‘Source Church’ precisely to find a cure for this infection at life’s very origin…”
“Who could’ve imagined…”
“The Giant God’s power not only suppresses and banishes chaos—it can even restore those corrupted by it!”
With this thought, Captain Dekhaka gave an inward nod and turned to the next infected sailor.
“Truly, only the Giant God embodies true faith! The sole path to purge chaos!”
“And even now, when chaos holds overwhelming advantage—has the Giant God already conceived how to heal chaos’ scars!?”
“Such profound yet meticulous wisdom! Such absolute confidence!”
“Worthy indeed of the Giant God!”
Just as Captain Dekhaka concluded his silent prayer and readied to treat the next chaos-infected sailor…
“Boom—!”
The warship beneath him lurched violently—sinking!
Crushing, wrathful divine power pressed down!
Evidently, a deity had been cornered into action!

“Munch… munch…”
“Sea bunnies are pretty delicious, huh.”
Trilobite swam contentedly through the ocean.
Truthfully, sharks possessed a terrible sense of taste and couldn’t chew properly, making flavors hard to distinguish.
But the fullness from the "sea bunny" and the rising Chaos Energy still made Trilobite very happy.
“Hmm…”
The system interface opened again.
【Current Form: Carcharocles】

“Next…”
Trilobite opened the evolution DLC shop.
【Ding——!】
【You purchased the Lateral Line, costing 500 energy points.】
The lateral line is a pressure-sensing organ shared by fish and aquatic amphibians. Fish use it to detect direction and sense subtle water pressure changes.
You could say it’s like a fish’s ear!
“Hmm, that should cover all the cheap stuff!”
He wasn’t wrong.
The basic vertebrate features were bought. Next came higher-tier, pricier upgrades—
Like a bony skeleton, specialized fin bones, or even primitive fingers…
The dawn of land conquest was breaking!
Yet Trilobite’s focus shifted to another priority: armor!
But alas…
“Tsk.”
“After buying the lateral line, my Chaos Energy isn’t enough for what I want!”
“Hmm…”
As Trilobite stared at his “1323” Chaos Energy points…
“Buzz—!”
His lateral line suddenly buzzed!
Abnormal water pressure rippled against it, yet the Lorentz Jar and Olfactory Membranes stayed silent…
“Interesting.”
“What creature hides its bioelectricity and scent?!”
“I’ll savor this thoroughly…”
“But first…”
Trilobite relaxed his body, feigning post-meal contentment!
“Lure it in close!”
