Chapter 25: Raising a Group of Trilobites as Pets.
When Sulya healed the old man’s wounds and spoke with him again, the "Giant God" had already dragged Balrog the Terror—now whittled down to a "True Divine Charlatan"—along with its torn-off Scraps into the "City of Dimensions."
Only the inedible tail spike and some pincers remained, lying pitifully on the seabed.
The "Giant God’s Radiance," carrying them, slowly descended into a bustling underwater crater.
This place seemed not naturally formed, but piled from "soil" excavated from deep underground by some colossal entity.
What astonished the old man more was the crater’s space-warping power, which effectively concealed surrounding seabed structures.
“No! This crater isn’t made of ordinary soil, but…”
“Primal Mud!”
The so-called "Primal Mud" was the legendary "raw material" for forging dimensional frameworks.
Beyond dimensions lay not endless void, but this "Primal Mud"; dimensions resembled "bubbles" within the "sludge," their frameworks upheld by "regulated" Primal Mud preventing collapse.
Pure Primal Mud contained immense radiative energy, powering many arcane devices!
Though abundant beyond dimensions, this "mud" remained scarce within them; occasional seepage became "strategic resources" guarded by nations.
Great powers even clashed over Primal Mud.
“Yet this crater’s reserves…”
“Must rank among the dimension’s richest! A completely exposed high-grade deposit!”
Such abundance filled the old man with envy and anguish.
Because…
“These ocean people haven’t mined it! What a terrible waste!”
But soon he learned their reason for neglecting it…
They possessed superior resources!
“Heavens!”
“That’s—!”
Beyond the crater stood several small "hills" with unusual shapes—some elongated, others spiraled in layered coils.
Numerous "Trilobite-shaped" mining ships, half the size of "Giant God’s Radiance," worked busily upon them.
Even from afar, through the cabin walls, the old man felt the hills’ overwhelming radiative energy!
“This fuel’s magical energy density… exceeds Primal Mud by a hundredfold!”
“By the gods! There’s more!”
These radiant hills weren’t the limit of plenty.
Nearby lay heaps of "massive stones" emitting "divine energy"—clearly fragments of a "Divine Form"!
This sight profoundly shocked the old man.
Noticing his astonishment, doubt, and envy, Sulya gave a slight smile.
“Let us be open and sincere before the Giant God, honored elder.”
"You saw the fate of that arrogant Chaos deity and the strength of the Giant God."
"Meanwhile, I must tell you everything here comes from divine blessing; the ‘Primal Mud,’ ‘divine grace mounds,’ and ‘divine bones,’ even this ‘Giant God’s Radiance’ you stand upon—all were forged from ‘fragments of Divine Body’ we gathered."
"Thus, the ‘Giant God’s Radiance’ rivals the divine bodies of lesser deities!"
"To honor the gods, we shaped these warships after the ‘initial form’ of the great Giant God!"
"As for you…"
"I perceive you’re no ordinary mortal."
"And if I’m right, Balrog the Terror wouldn’t risk chasing mere prey for pride’s sake."
"Nor are we blind to recent events on the continent."
Seeing no point in concealment, the old man continued.
"Very well. My name matters little."
"What matters is I’m a prophet bearing crucial warnings and prophecies!"
"For this vision, my eye…"
He suddenly gouged out his right eye—a sizzling, twitching orb.
Clearly, he’d paid his sight for this foresight.
"Understood."
Sulya bowed respectfully.
She and her Solar Knights always honored those who made sacrifices.
"Speak your prophecy. I’ll convey it when praying to my deity."
"Though whether our great god heeds it rests with Him."
The Old Prophet nodded.
"My warning is this: your great god has drawn the Chaos Demon Gods’ attention. They’ll send a lower council member to investigate!"
"He commands Balrog the Terror!"
"We learned this through hidden channels and raced to warn you—only to be intercepted by Balrog’s vile cultists."
"Just as He appeared, your mighty Solar Knights arrived."
"You snatched us from under His gaze."
"Humiliated and fearing his master’s punishment should we escape, Balrog pursued us relentlessly."
…
Though flawed in character, most chaos evil gods aren’t fools.
Balrog the Terror, for all his arrogance and recklessness, possessed cunning.
With countless evil gods fallen in these waters and the Abyss’s "Zero Realm" emptied, other chaos evil gods would inevitably take notice.
That scorpion-like deity likely feared his master’s wrath, hence his desperate chase after the "sacrifice"-laden warship.
Yet upon catching it, his old arrogance resurfaced—and the Giant God tore him apart.
"Now I understand."
Sulya nodded.
"What about your prophecy?"
The old man closed his remaining eye, seeming full of emotion.
"The prophecy says…"
"A deity would rise and give their safe haven to their people, while they themselves would resist the powerful Chaos deities!"
"In the end, their people would gain safety and prosperity, but they themselves would…"
The Old Prophet looked at Sulya, clearly afraid to speak the next part.
He didn’t know what might happen if he said those words.
"Go ahead."
Sulya stayed calm.
"Alright."
The old man bowed to the broad-minded female knight.
"And that deity who resists chaos would depart, leaving behind a ground covered with remains!"
"Their own bones!"
As he finished speaking…
"Swish—!"
"Whoosh!"
The surrounding Solar Knights quickly drew their weapons.
"Old man!"
"Do you realize what you’re saying?"
"How could our Giant God ever…"
While the Solar Knights tensed up, Sulya raised her hand to gesture for calm.
Truthfully, she no longer needed to do this.
Because the "Giant God" had already started to act!
"Boom—Boom—Boom—!"
The battleship shook violently!
He crawled out of the City of Dimensions, using his huge head to push the "Giant God’s Radiance" and other ships into the City of Dimensions.
And just as the old man had said, far off in this City of Dimensions, a larger, fiercer shadow was already on its way!
—-
"Oh, oh, oh!"
"It’s like meeting an old kinsman, the Trilobite!"
Trilobite swam around the "opening" he used. Whenever he occasionally awoke, he expanded his "cave," especially the "toilet," as his body had swollen.
The "mud" he dug out piled up at the entrance, gradually forming a crater-like structure.
He joyfully discovered some "trilobites" had become his companion creatures.
"And these guys… seem like utterly standard, unremarkable trilobites!"
Though ordinary trilobites might not attract fossil collectors, Trilobite knew their value!
"This must be a type of ‘aphid-headed Trilobite’!"
"That’s the trilobite which, in its final form, returned to simplicity to greet the Time of the End!"
"It’s a middle finger raised at the world!"
"Besides…"
Trilobite felt facing dire threats wasn’t the moment for sentimentality.
Yet these trilobites satisfied his nostalgia while being practical!
"Look how hardworking they are."
"Small ones perch on my skin flakes."
"Bigger ones perch on my excrement!"
"I’d heard large creatures could form their own ecosystem."
"Never thought I’d see the day!"
"Hmm…"
"Should I move them into my den as pets?"
"He got right to it!"
Thinking this, Trilobite shoved all nearby "trilobites" into his "cave."
"Don’t you love my skin flakes and excrement?"
"There’s plenty in the toilet!"
"Work hard as my cleaners!"
"As for me…"
Unease once again permeated the seawater.
The new era’s overlord would challenge both uninvited guests and relics of the past.
"But you don’t realize—I’m not who I was!"
"Bang—!"
"Swish—!"
Trilobite violently snapped his newly elongated jaws together.
This time, not only did a deep thud echo, but also…
"Swish!"
A razor-sharp clash, like blades crossing!
