Chapter 15: Actually, Squid Isn’t That Easy to Suck
The attacking Giant Jaw surged like a merciless beast from hell’s depths, smashing through tentacle barriers to clamp onto "Sword Stone’s" head!
"Ugh—Roar—!"
Shoude Meier’s skull crumpled under the bite, unleashing an earth-shattering wail.
Excruciating pain wracked his body, forcing upon him a shameful, unfamiliar sensation.
A sensation reserved for cowardly humans—fear.
But Shoude Meier had no time for rage now.
"Such power! Among the seventy-two council members, this Divine Body ranks strong!"
"This creature can’t possibly be Andumali!"
Only then did Shoude Meier realize his miscalculation—Dantalin’s scheme against the "Plotting Abomination" had also misfired.
Too late. Survival, not plan revision, demanded his focus.
"Damn it! His power invades my body! Mana’s in chaos—can’t cast spells!"
"Completely helpless!"
"Must flee!"
Desperate, Shoude Meier triggered the emergency mechanism within his Divine Body.
"Pfft…"
The Mantis Shrimp lived up to its squid-like nature, instinctively ejecting humiliating "ink" in this crisis.
"Cough, cough…"
"Damn it! What is this? Chokes like hell!"
Startled by the ink, Trilobite loosened his jaws.
"Now! Escape his reach!"
Shoude Meier scrambled backward, tentacles frantically pumping despite searing internal pain.
"Retreat first!"
"Thankfully, this black mist is my Divine Body’s corrosive domain—magic-like yet mightier!"
"Perhaps…"
"I can counterattack!"
Freshly escaped, Shoude Meier’s delusions resurfaced.
Though an "Outer God" couldn’t cast forbidden spells effortlessly like the Chaos Council’s prime deities, he retained some ace skills as a Chaos deity.
Especially for survival and reversal!

The Giant God’s emergence from the "Cave" unleashed a fierce torrent, sweeping away Source Doctrine practitioners. They drifted like duckweed in the sea, screaming helplessly.
Only those clutching Large Stones avoided being swept into despair.
Meanwhile, Sulya and the Solar Knights leaned heavily on the great swords deeply embedded in the ocean floor, struggling to hold on; most barely avoided being swept away by the currents!
Yet even then…
“Whoosh—!”
“Bang!”
Sand and gravel churned by the currents struck their faces, leaving a shallow scar on Sulya’s fair skin.
But worse was yet to come…
“Pshhh—!”
A terrible mass of thick black fog suddenly erupted from the head of the “God of Source Quality.”
“Heavens, what is that…?”
“Dark Sky!?”
“How can this happen underwater!?”
“How could our god unleash Dark Sky!?”
At the seabed, the Source Doctrine Technicians clinging desperately to the Large Stone gaped upward in horror. They watched the billowing black smoke with equal parts despair and disbelief.
This so-called “Dark Sky” was a dreadful chaos spell that withered and corroded all living things, poisoned the earth, and suppressed the powers of Order-side deities.
Wherever chaos had trampled, Dark Sky would spread, bringing “chaos corruption.”
When Order-side armies marched beneath it, soldiers suffered hallucinations, plagues, and madness—crumbling morale and dwindling numbers.
Priests found their divine techniques severely weakened.
Meanwhile, chaotic creatures and demons grew significantly stronger under Dark Sky!
Even the divine bodies of Order-side deities faced terrible corrosion from this spell.
This was forbidden magic—only learnable by slaughter-craving Chaos deities and Outer Gods who thirsted for destruction and distortion!
But…
“Why! An Order-side ‘God of Source Quality’ would use such magic?!”
Only then did the believers and Technicians of Source Doctrine realize they’d worshipped a false deity!
It was too late.
Amidst the terror, the darkness sank slowly, engulfing the Giant God biting the “God of Source Quality” and swallowing everyone.
“Ah—!”
“My skin—it’s blistering!”
“Heavens! I’m mutating! Horns are growing!”
“No—!”
People began losing their minds in scattered groups, bodies corroding and festering to varying degrees.
Even followers of the “God of Source Quality” succumbed to the magic. They shrieked wildly, thrashing on the ground as robust muscles rotted and sloughed off, finally melting into pools of pus and blood, leaving bare bones behind!
Within this ocean of despair…
“Buzz—!”
A bright light emerged in the terrifying, all-corrosive darkness!
“Solar Knights!”
“Watch over those around you!”
Sulya gritted her teeth, barely holding the light in her hands, managing to cover a small area.
Under the light’s protection, Chief Scientist Icarus and his colleagues, including several “believers of the Source,” temporarily kept some sanity.
They just crouched down, clutching their heads.
The dark sky, though, stirred terrifying memories.
Icarus seemed to see his burning home—his wife and daughter impaled on the same stake by chaotic demons, as if in the cruelest “torture art.”
He also remembered how his faith was betrayed by the deity. For petty gains, the deity sold out his followers, deceived them, and threw them to the chaotic demons.
“Ah—!”
“Ah—!”
He screamed wildly, trying to vent his fear and rage.
“Tsk…”
Sulya watched without fear, feeling only relief.
As a warrior long battled against chaos, she knew this domain wasn’t just “the dark sky”; it was far stronger and deadlier!
“Praise our god!”
“Though the sky seems to have swallowed him, his power still shields us.”
“Without the Giant God, even I’d have melted into a puddle of blood!”
“Thank you, great deity.”
“The dawn of hope is here!”
As Sulya stared…
“Hiss—!”
The dark mist ripped apart as a colossal figure tore through it.
“Whoosh—!”
Raging currents surged like a hurricane scattering clouds, shredding the corrosive “black curtain” to bits!
The Giant God’s massive form churned the turbulent sea; divine power radiated through the currents, neutralizing and banishing the terrifying “blackness”!
—-
“Damn it, is sucking on a giant squid this hard?!”
Trilobite cursed inwardly, grumbling about life’s struggles.
His armored head got splattered with ink from the Mantis Shrimp!
Deep down, Trilobite knew sucking on a giant squid wasn’t easy—nothing like the cozy tales people spun.
First of all, squid were a type of cephalopod, considered one of the most "advanced" among soft-bodied animals; their cousin, the octopus, had an intelligence not much lower than a dog’s, and might even rival a monkey’s.
Often, science fiction movies portrayed aliens as resembling octopuses, and it wasn’t without reason.
Moreover, cephalopods were all carnivorous, equipped with sharp beaks and suckers hiding hook-like stings.
Although their nerve conduction speed was slower than that of vertebrates, it still reached at least 25 meters per second. Over short distances, the difference from vertebrates wasn’t big, making them the only animals besides vertebrates that could grow over ten meters long!
Not to mention, most cephalopods had their life-saving skill—ink.
In short, they were smart, good at both attack and defense, could change size easily, and were truly awesome!
It was these qualities that let the "Great Old Ones," who once ruled the Ordovician, cast an eternal gaze toward the throne taken by vertebrates in the dark Abyss depths!
"But what good was just staring?!"
"You think my jaw is fake?"
Trilobite raged as he put up with the ink’s awful smell and suddenly charged ahead!
Seeing the "Giant God" charging under the "Inverted Abyss," a bit of pride rose in Shoude Meier’s heart.
"Fool! Don’t you know the power of forbidden spells?!"
"This dark mist held strong chaotic power; it could block sight and mess up the magic flow inside enemies, plus it was very corrosive!"
"It was an upgraded "Black Sky," the "Inverted Abyss"; it could turn an army of mortals into blood puddles in a flash!"
"For deities, it could eat away at divine ranks and rot your Divine Body, turning you into a swollen, pus-filled wreck!"
"Whether you’re the revived Order God or some odd deity, you can’t escape my rot, not even me!"
"Just wait… to be killed by me!"
"Uh… ahhhhh…"
Soon, Shoude Meier found one of his tentacles had rotted from the ink he spat out!
He fought the pain and squirted water hard, swimming back fast to get out of the ink zone.
"Whew!"
"Even if you don’t die, you’ll be busy for a bit!"
"Wait till I heal—ah—!"
Sadly, his revenge cry turned into a sharp scream.
The bloody mouth grew huge in Shoude Meier’s eyes, lunging straight for the Chaos God’s head!
"No—!"
The proud Chaos God could only wail.
But Trilobite didn’t notice any of it.
In his mind, there was just one word—"eat"!
"Crunch—!"
That was the sound of jaws clamping hard on flesh!
Trilobite shoved aside the Mantis Shrimp’s tentacles and bit down fiercely on its forehead!
Even though the Initial Jawed Fish had "initial" in its name, its jaws had fully evolved, with strong muscles that clamped like pliers, biting down hard.
The quick bite force was weaker than their powerful dragon and beast descendants, but Trilobite’s foe wasn’t a tricereratops or mammoth—just a mere squid.
For a boneless squid, sucking would do, never mind biting!
"Crack—squish—!"
Under the mighty jaws, cartilage shattered, muscles flattened, and nerves and brain were smashed like dry twigs.
"Ah—no—!"
"Thud…"
The Chaos God’s head was violently crushed by the jaws.
Shoude Meier became a floating corpse in the sea, held by the Initial Jawed Fish, swaying weakly as the big fish swam.
