Chapter 14: One of the Three Monsters of Paleo Creatures Arrives
The Outer God "Shoude Meier" slowly withdrew the disguise made with "strategic magic."
However, he had other names.
The "God of Source Quality" Cleios was his name on the Order-side, while the "God of Corruption" Kakas was his title among the Chaotic Forces.
As an Outer God, he had many connections with the Outer God "Spitoborg," who allied with the Chaos Demon Gods.
His many links kept his information flowing freely.
When "Hugging Worm" Dantalin released his message, Shoude Meier was the first to know.
As a cunning Outer God, he quickly figured out Dantalin’s scheme.
"Hehe, that guy saw through Andumali’s plan and wanted the Chaos Gods eyeing Andumali’s seat to fight each other so he could gain benefits!"
"Such petty tricks—I saw right through them!"
"Well, what I had to do was simple!"
Seeing Dantalin’s plan clearly, Shoude Meier prepared to outsmart Dantalin’s plot.
He put on his Divine Body, entered the Endless Sea, and started hunting and devouring those Chaos Gods trying to trouble Andumali.
The plan went smoothly; as he consumed more, Shoude Meier’s power grew stronger; he even felt sure that if he faced Andumali now, even without unleashing forbidden spells like Dantalin, he could win with his strong Divine Body!
"Dantalin!"
"When you reappear in the primary material world, you’ll find the opponent you face isn’t what you expected!"
"Hahahaha…"
"But first, I must swallow you!"
"Right? Andumali! You made a fine ‘disguise’!"
Deities often had more than one Divine Body; some used resources to create extra ones.
But most deities did not do this.
After all, even with multiple Divine Bodies ready, if any was destroyed in the primary material world, it meant true death—the Divine Body and divine status wouldn’t return to the Abyss or the "outside world."
No one wasted resources for no real gain.
But using them as bait or disguises to devour other gods made it worth it!
Shoude Meier was certain this "big fish" was another Divine Body of Andumali!
And Shoude Meier himself had the power to defeat Andumali!
"Whoosh——!"
The huge tentacle slammed down, aimed right at the forehead of the Initial Jawed Fish!
—-
"Bang——!"
"Ouch!"
"That hurts!"
Trilobite felt deeply wronged.
He’d just stepped out to take out the trash—so why had he gotten whacked over the head!?
Wait, not whacked—more like whipped.
Was this Singapore? Did littering warrant a caning?
Trilobite lifted his head and saw…
"Woohoo!"
"Squid!"
"Wait, no—looks more like a Mantis Shrimp? Though it’s way too big."
The Mantis Shrimp, an odd Cambrian-era creature, sported a funnel-like siphon, squid-like head, bulbous eyes, and spindle-shaped body. Yet it had only two tentacles and an internal chitin skeleton.
Despite "shrimp" in its name—a misnomer that stuck—truth was…
"It’s basically the ancient ancestor of squids."
Mantis Shrimp fossils surfaced as early as 1910. First mistaken for crustaceans, then likened to lancelets, later misclassified as chaetognaths… until 2010 confirmed them as Cephalopod ancestors.
Talk about circling through family trees only to discover you’re your own great-grandparent!
Thus Mantis Shrimp joined ranks with the Tully Monster and Typhoon Monster as paleontology’s three legendary enigmas!
So when the creature before him demonstrated camouflage and invisibility, Trilobite was genuinely startled.
"So cephalopods inherited their color-changing trick from this ancient lineage!"
Typical Mantis Shrimp measured merely 4 centimeters, with giants hitting 10 centimeters.
But this specimen loomed large—roughly half a meter.
While fossil records poorly preserved mouth structures, this creature sported a sharp, parrot-like beak identical to modern squids!
"My size estimate was spot-on—just over half a meter now."
"But with jaws like mine, slurping down a half-meter squid shouldn’t be… impossible?"
Truthfully, Trilobite avoided tangling with larger creatures—even similarly sized ones—unless forced.
Nature’s law was clear: bully the weak, fear the strong. Even top predators like lions targeted antelopes or boars, not riskier prey like bears.
Hunting focused on the young, old, or infirm. Embarrassing? Survival trumped pride.
But now, retreat wasn’t an option.
The threat pressed right against his forehead!
Showing fear meant death.
This wasn’t about dignity anymore—it was life or death.
Let’s continue…
“Damn it, Mantis Shrimp, that’s enough! You’re pushing your luck! Think I’ve got no jaw, huh!?”
The Initial Jawed Fish edged back toward the "Cave," its tail coiling with power.
This retreat only emboldened the Mantis Shrimp; he believed Trilobite was cowering!
“Hahaha…”
“Where’s that ferocity from crushing my army? Scared now?”
He taunted Trilobite, lashing out with another tentacle that ensnared the Initial Jawed Fish’s skull.
Suction-cup claws scraped bone with a sickening creak, while one tentacle slammed against Trilobite’s “calcite eyes” with dull thuds.
Were it not for those trilobite-inherited calcite eyes, Trilobite would’ve been blinded by agony.
Yet even now, the mollusk’s strength proved formidable—twin tentacles vise-locked Trilobite’s head, tightening relentlessly until pain seared through him!
“Aaargh—!”
Trilobite’s scream tore through the water.
—-
“Hear it! The whimpers of your feeble god!”
“Hear it! His death throes!”
“As for you…”
The big man raised his palm.
Instantly, his towering warriors stepped aside, and he himself disengaged from Sulya.
“Your Solar Holy Light system holds worth! My god recognizes its value.”
“Thus, I offer you this chance: renounce your faith!”
“Soon your god will be devoured, merged—made one with mine.”
“To worship the ‘God of Source Quality’ is to honor your Giant God!”
“Where lies the fault in this!?”
“Our Source Doctrine stands on ‘All Things to One’ and ‘One God Over All’—yet we exclude no worthy soul.”
“We embrace wisdom and worthy minds from all creeds!”
“Join us!”
“Evolve eternally under the God of Source Quality’s guidance! Attain ‘Source Ascension’!”
Sulya listened, then offered a faint smile.
“Your words… hold a grain of truth.”
“‘All Things to One.’ One god, one faith—better than these squabbling sects.”
“Unity alone can crush the chaos.”
“But why assume your god deserves this mantle?”
“Measure your strength before boasting!”
In one fluid motion, she drew her seldom-used greatsword. Seeing the Source Doctrine warriors tense, Sulya’s lips curved with amusement.
Yet instead of striking, she drove the blade earthward—THUD.
Her Solar Knights mirrored the act in unison.
“You…?”
Bewilderment gripped the Source Doctrine followers—
BOOM—BOOM—BOOM—!
The seabed convulsed as the Colossal Giant God erupted from the “City of Dimensions,” power fully unleashed!
CRASH—!
A thunderous impact rocked the abyss!
Titans collided once more!
Tsunami-force currents ravaged the ocean floor—
But this time, the Giant God fought with cunning, not brute force!
Jaws gaped wide—
Clamping like iron vices onto Shoude Meier’s twin tentacles!
A furious bellow shook the seas:
“Damn it!”
“Retreat isn’t defeat!”
“Pain isn’t surrender!”
“Mollusk—BOW BEFORE THE JAW!”
