Chapter 12: Look! Even Armor Can Kill!
“Is this the ‘Abomination King,’ the ‘Hell Battleship’ Balabali!?”
The Solar Knight Sulya squinted at the giant bug charging toward them; her heart raced.
The colossal being truly lived up to the name "Hell Battleship"!
But unlike human battleships, this vessel from Chaos—like the "chaos fortress"—was a living creature.
Compared to the "chaos fortress" forged from fallen deities, however, the Hell Battleship fared much better.
Though their divine status was weak and incomplete, barred from the Chaos Council and not true Chaos Gods, they remained self-aware gods.
Even if only as "Secondary Gods."
Often, a Hell Battleship’s divine form in the primary material world surpassed some true Chaos Gods in strength!
Of course, these Hell Battleships held limited spellcasting capability, managing few proper spells. True Chaos Gods wielded vast mana in the primary material world, unleashing forbidden magic that could annihilate armies with one cast.
The Secondary Gods weren’t disheartened.
Their day would come.
By gathering enough souls to refine their divinity, they could earn recognition as chaos gods and contend for seats in the Chaos Council.
That made them especially vicious and soul-hungry—particularly for warriors’ and mages’ souls.
Tormenting these proud, powerful souls granted greater energy!
“Hahaha!”
“See that, woman?”
“Surrender now! Stop your petty tricks!”
Though pinned under the female knight’s boot, the Demon Prince still sneered.
“Nowhere to run! Your only choice is to offer your souls willingly!”
“Then reveal where that pathetic newborn god hides behind you!”
“Only by fueling my master’s power can you—”
……
“Pff—!”
His gloating ended abruptly with a violent crunch.
The Demon Prince’s head tumbled away, his neck shattered by a Holy Light-engulfed fist!
Sulya lifted the still-smirking head.
She shouted into the distance: “Mighty Giant God of Light! I offer this sacrifice!”
Then she swung her fist at another charging demon!
“Bang!”
A single punch blasted a gaping hole through its chest.
He collapsed, eyes bulging with resentment.
Soon, his head was clutched in the hand of the female knight Sulya.
“Comrades!”
The female knight shouted boldly, radiating Holy Light as if a bright sun had descended to the ocean floor!
“The Giant God was watching us!”
“He delighted in the slaughter of chaos and blood sacrifices for the Giant God!”
“Blood sacrifice for the Giant God! Offerings to the divine throne!”
The Solar Knights, locked in fierce battle, roared amid the clash of swords: “Blood sacrifice for the Giant God! Offerings to the divine throne!”
—-
“Very good!”
Despite his army being caught in brutal combat, the Abomination King Balabali felt quite pleased.
The small eye on the forehead of the Abominable Worm was tiny, but unlike Trilobite, he did not have poor vision; after all, the Abomination King was considered a reserve Chaos God, able to see distant scenes through his subordinates’ eyes and "chaos perception."
He saw that the small human army dared to resist the demon army; they were shouting the names of unfamiliar deities, using unknown powers to attack the Chaos followers and demon army fiercely.
“Just as I thought.”
“The information I bought at a high price from Dantalin’s little demons was indeed valuable.”
Balabali wiggled his compound eyes, thinking over the intel.
According to the reports, a terrifying god had unexpectedly appeared on this ocean floor.
This being might be an Ancient God who had slept since the last era, or perhaps it was an inexplicable Outer God that stumbled into this dimension; either way, it was a tricky foe.
Andumali had fought it hard, resulting in both being badly hurt.
Though that god suffered heavy damage, Andumali was also hit by an unknown spell, left weak and stuck in the material realm.
So, Balabali saw a chance in this information.
Two weakened gods, whether of order or chaos, were perfect prey for him.
If he could seize the chaos to devour one of them, even if it was just to snatch a bite…
“Then, I will be rich, ha ha ha!”
“But whether it’s Andumali or his bait, they are truly foolish.
How dare an injured being let its followers run wild!? Shouldn’t they hide and play dead?”
“Still, this is perfect!”
“I will first kill your followers, pull out your souls, then torture and question you to make you reveal that god’s location.”
“Then, I will find him and swallow his divine status.”
“That way, I can join the Chaos Council!”
“Ha ha… ha ha ha ha…”
The demon lord fluttered his leaf-like legs rapidly, feeling very satisfied.
He believed his Hell Battleship’s massive form could sweep away all human forces before him, killing them all!
“Perhaps the power your foolish god gave you was a bit interesting; it could hold back our power some.”
“But against absolute strength, these tricks were useless!”
The demon lord sped up, deciding to use his favorite move—crushing!
He’d charge ahead, using fast speed and his huge body to smash everything in his path, friend or foe.
He loved the feel of flesh and bone turning to dust under his crush.
“Die—!”
His speed peaked, and he just waited to enjoy crushing everything…
But…
“Bang—!”
Suddenly, a massive crashing sound erupted.
The impact stopped at once.
The demon lord felt his head would burst from pain.
The Hell Battleship’s huge body flattened against a clear surface like a bird hitting glass.
“Uh…”
The high speed and hard crash made him feel his soul was flattened!
He got dizzy and sick, stuck in place, unable to move.
The huge crashing sound echoed across the sea, making the battling Solar Knights and demons stop and stare in shock at the distance.
They saw with surprise, awe, fear, and horror that the mighty Hell Battleship was clumsily squeezed into a heap!
What amazed all smart beings in the sea even more came next.
“Look! The Giant God!”
“How grand!”
“Great is the Giant God! Like the sun rising!”
“Blood sacrifice to chaos! Offerings to the divine throne!”
“Oh—!”
The Solar Knights fought even harder and wilder, while the demons, like struck by lightning, started to flee.
Under the Holy Light, they withered and fell like dry leaves in a big fire.
—-
Abomination King Balabali didn’t know the “ancient god” he sought day and night hid below him, deep in the “City of Dimensions.”
Now was the time to see the light again!
“Now is the moment!”
Trilobite kept watching the Abominable Worm’s moves.
He saw the Abominable Worm suddenly slam into the shield he had set above him, its entire body flattened against it!
“Ball Joint Armor Shield!”
Trilobite cast a second shield spell, but this time, it wrapped around himself.
“Charge!”
With the power he had built up in his caudal fin, he surged upwards.
He rose high and then dove down!
“Bang!”
With shields stacked and wearing tough armor, the head of the Armored Fish crashed hard into the back of the Abominable Worm, still stuck to the force field shield, unaware of what was happening.
“Puff—!”
This impact made the Abominable Worm spit out a lot of what looked like broken organs and fluids.
“Cough, cough…”
“This is a trap!”
“I must escape…”
“I should still have a chance, right…”
In theory, the Demon Lord really could have escaped.
Although his body, the Hell Battleship, had been badly damaged, force worked both ways.
The Demon Lord now hoped the sudden attacker from behind would also be shaken and stagger back a bit, letting him slip away.
But a chance in theory was just that—theoretical…
“Ah—!”
The opponent didn’t back off at all.
Instead, it kept using its head like a millstone, grinding hard against the transparent shield over and over.
“Ah…”
“Kill me!”
“Don’t torture me like this!”
“You… you’re a demon!”
“Ah—!”
As relatives of odd creatures and arthropods, their nerve setups were alike; they had no back nerve but a web-like system. Many insects could still move even with their backs hollowed out, thanks to this.
This Abominable Worm was no different.
Even with its back ground to bits, the nerves sent every bit of pain straight to the center.
The Demon Lord suffered and fought through the agony.
All he wanted now was to die.
Finally…
“Crack!”
His body split into two halves, or really, three parts.
The middle part was crushed to a bloody pulp, scattering as pieces in the ocean.
Trilobite started swimming right away and sucked them into his mouth.
The other two chunks crashed onto the seabed, crying out about the torture they’d faced!
But Trilobite didn’t know how cruel he’d been.
He was happy.
【Expected Chaos Energy: 2000】
“Yay!”
“And… wow, it was still going up!”
“I wonder who kept sending me Chaos Energy!”
