Chapter 110: Belief Needs to Be Seen to Be Real!
The living saint, Albert Drake, who followed the principle of "going with the flow," ultimately did not lead the survivors of the Beltan Ark to resume their old business as "ether pirates."
They directly entered the Bubble World "Valaharl."
Although the robust root systems of Subspace had been severed by the Crystal Walls’ "plate movements," the Crystal Walls of Valaharl were still riddled with holes, allowing the Ark to easily enter this Bubble World, which had already experienced the Time of the End, where the Gods had long since fallen.
Upon arrival, Il’Feline and many elite warriors of Beltan followed Albert Drake off the safety of the Ark, landing on the shore to combat the chaos along with the silent "natives" of the area.
"This is the world that the Giant God tried to save?"
"Impossible, there’s no hope!"
Il’Feline whispered in despair as she gazed at the shadow before her that blocked the sky.
It was a chaos deity; based on the Beltan Ark’s long wandering and dealings with the chaos evil god, this being’s strength was at the "member" level.
At the very least, it was not weaker than the lowest rank!
But this being did not fight, only standing tall like a mountain behind a huge mass of demons like an ocean, driving them to attack nonstop.
Even so, the presence of a deity gave the demon legion a huge advantage!
"Roar—!"
"Roar—!"
Driven by fear and brutality, many demons launched wave after wave of assaults, charging the defensive line again and again.
"Do these people not know fear?"
"Aren’t they afraid at all?"
Il’Feline looked at the tightly wrapped "native" warriors beside her.
No, they shouldn’t be called natives.
Their technology level was far superior to that of the Beltan Ark.
"Crack—!"
Seeing a warrior gently click off the safety on her magic gun and aim forward, Il’Feline silently swallowed.
Though the gun seemed plain, it worked steadily in any condition and even resisted chaos corruption to some degree.
The bayonet at the gun’s tip glinted coldly.
Though it looked like just an ordinary "weapon," Il’Feline and her companions had seen the warrior use it to stab a horned demon commander to death!
Just as she started to lose focus…
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
"Tap… tap… tap…!"
In the maze of trenches, the magic gun roared, with artillery sounds around.
That wasn’t real artillery; it came from some Valaharl people in sturdy armor.
Like ordinary Valaharl warriors, they wore respirators and masks, stayed silent, and breathed heavily with "hisses." But they were very tall and strong, like giants.
Their gear was also much better.
Apart from their super heavy armor, they wielded a magic chainsaw sword in one hand and a heavy magic gun in the other.
Each bullet from the heavy magic gun hit with the force of a small cannon, and the "Holy Light from the Sun" bursting from its muzzle perfectly countered demons.
These powerful warriors, like demigods, specialized in eliminating high-value targets.
But…
"Roar—!"
"Kill them all! Chaos God bless us!"
The demons weren’t cowed by the fierce gunfire.
Their twisted and ferocious battle cries shook heaven and earth as they surged forward like an unstoppable blaze toward the Valaharl position.
Though constant magic gun fire felled many demons, plenty still charged ahead.
Yet worse was to come…
"Buzz—!"
Divine might radiated from the chaos deity, massive as a hill. This power fell upon the chaotic spawn, becoming potent "divine grace."
"Roar—!"
"Creak—!"
Many chaotic demons shot down actually rose again, their wounds now scabbed and nearly healed.
The lingering pain didn’t stop them—it drove them mad as they charged the position once more.
"A normal army would’ve broken completely by now…"
"Seeing their hardest-hitting attacks fail."
"But…"
Il’Feline looked again at the figure beside her.
Thick clothing covered them completely. A helmet and respirator shaped like a "skeleton" emitted heavy "hiss… hiss…" breaths.
Though breathing faster than before, they stayed far calmer than many Beltan forces who’d gone limp.
"Bang—!"
"Bang—!"
Masked soldiers nearby kept firing, steadily dropping demon after demon.
With demons closing in, the magic guns’ aim improved. Nearly every shot struck a forehead, killing instantly.
Divine grace might heal injured demons, but it couldn’t raise the dead.
About a minute later, demons closed in again!
A bloodthirsty demon lunged into view, poised to leap into the trench!
"Swish—!"
A bayonet flashed cold steel, piercing the reckless demon’s left eye and bursting through its skull!
"Whew—!"
With a flick of the spear, the demon tumbled into the trench, never to rise again.
"Huu… hiss…"
The heavy breathing steadied slightly.
They held their bayonets and leaped out of the trench.
In the distance, warriors like demigods gripped their chainsaw swords and began to gather.
The leader raised his chainsaw, pointing toward the source of the demon charge.
"Blood sacrifice for the Giant God."
"Offerings to the divine throne."
A hoarse, guttural battle cry emerged from beneath the mask!
Though the sound wasn’t loud—barely a "roar"—beneath the quiet lay a churning tide of killing intent and deathly stillness.
Yet this "armored warrior’s" battle cry was merely the beginning.
"Blood sacrifice for the Giant God."
"Offerings to the divine throne."
When hundreds of thousands spoke the words in low, steady voices, the impact was overwhelming.
As if slaughter was routine for the Valaharl people, and death merely a homecoming.
The oppressive aura not only stunned Il’Feline, but even gave the charging demons pause.
Even the divine might of the chaos deity was momentarily stifled by this presence!
Bayonets fixed, the Valaharl people charged in silence, clashing fiercely with the demons in brutal close combat!
But this lasted only moments…
"ROAR—!"
"HOWL!"
The chaos deity bellowed in fury, its earth-shaking roar echoing its wrath at being disregarded.
It would teach these insects a lesson.
"Whoosh—!"
"Whoosh—!"
"Whoosh—!"
Transparent "meteors" streaked down from the sky, trailing long tails as they slammed into the battlefield!
Then…
"BOOM—!"
"Pshhh—!"
Where they struck the ground, they burst like massive water droplets, spraying countless shimmering shards that hung glittering in the air.
"Sizzle—!"
“Hiss…”
These liquids seemed highly corrosive, quickly making the ground sizzle and burn with a crackling sound.
The soil rapidly broke down, and the rocks swiftly eroded, as if an entire layer of the ground had been burned away!
The Valaharl warriors and demons locked in hand-to-hand combat were suddenly covered by this unexpected attack, and the air filled with the sharp smell of bodies being eaten by Chaos Energy.
The warriors in the Beltan Ark did a bit better; they had the Holy Light from the Sun taught by Albert Drake as a shield, which could block some of the chaos deity’s poison, but still, many warriors fell forever.
As for the Valaharl people…
“Whew… hiss… whew… hiss…”
On the battlefield, the only Valaharl people left standing were mostly the armored warriors; the rest…
Il’Feline looked at the Valaharl warrior near her.
Half of her body was almost rotted away by the energy shot from the chaos deity; her magic gun had turned to scrap metal.
But she still didn’t give up the fight.
“Swish—!”
She pulled out a shiny engineering shovel and gripped it tight.
The unyielding warrior limped forward to meet the second wave of chaotic demons!
“Is this the despair of the Death World?”
“Is this the power of the chaos deity?”
Il’Feline finally understood why Albert Drake brought the Beltan forces to Valaharl.
“How small we are next to the chaos deity…”
“Alas…”
“Eh?”
Just then, the Prophetess felt gentle hands rest on her shoulders.
“Seeing your own weakness is only half of my goal.”
“The other half…”
“The weak may be weak, but faith can make them strong!”
“But to truly build faith, empty talk and preaching aren’t enough.”
“You need to see it to believe it!”
In Il’Feline’s shocked stare, the living saint Albert Drake stretched out her long arm, pointing at the Chaos God that towered like a mountain.
“Boom—!”
The ground shook hard.
It felt like something huge and powerful was testing a “knock on the door.”
Then—!
“Bang—!”
The ground far off exploded like a volcano, bursting open!
