Chapter 11: Flesh and Weakness, Calcite is Amazing!
“I said to be cautious, and now look, something big was coming!”
Trilobite poked his head out of the “hole” and used his system vision to see a huge red mass larger than himself rapidly approaching!
“Wow! What was that!? It was so big!”
“And it was fast!”
“I couldn’t fight it, and I couldn’t run away!”
Trilobite felt terrified, quickly burying himself deeper, even pushing his forehead into the “mud and sand.”
Fortunately, the Armored Fish was also a bottom-dwelling creature, and its eyes were positioned above its head, so at least being buried didn’t stop Trilobite from observing.
However, when that wave of creatures swooped past overhead, rushing forward, Trilobite regretted his choice.
“Damn it!”
“I couldn’t believe I fell for that!”
Trilobite finally used his low-resolution compound eyes to see what was happening.
That so-called “big guy” was actually a large group of small “fish shape creatures.” From the gill filaments hanging down from their heads, they seemed like a bunch of little beings similar to “sea cucumber worms.”
Although sea cucumber worms were half-sessile animals, in their era, they hadn’t gone extinct, neither evolving into fixed filter feeders nor losing their brains, still swimming freely on the ocean floor.
To Trilobite, they were slender and much smaller than the first worm he ate, probably only 2 to 3 cm or even tinier—easily something he could gulp down in one bite.
They formed a diamond-shaped group as they rushed over Trilobite’s head.
Many weak creatures liked this “teaming up” way to confuse predators with poor eyesight.
Just like that, they tricked Trilobite’s low-resolution eyes.
They swam fast, and Trilobite barely had time to “Flip the World Off.”
“Chaos Energy!”
“They just got away like that!”
“Sigh…”
Trilobite couldn’t catch up, full of regret.
At that moment…
“Hmm!?”
He noticed another “shadow” rushing toward him.
“Haha, this time I wouldn’t let you get away!”
Trilobite curled his body, stored kinetic energy, and with his Magic Power just hitting one hundred, cast his skill—“Ball Joint Armor”—right in their path.
“Perfect timing to test this new skill!”

The chaotic “reinforcements” arrived.
This army was simple, all made of “Magic Bug Ships.” These scary bio battleships were built to copy ancient creatures from other worlds, with tentacle-like gill signals that spread chaos pollution and powerful venom, eating away everything around.
These horrors weren’t just terrifying in number; each "Magic Bug Ship" carried a sword-wielding demon, all eager to start killing.
"Hehe!"
The leader of this army, the Demon Prince, snarled with a vicious grin.
"Those foolish humans dare to fight lined up so carelessly!"
"Don’t think sneaking through the cracks like an eel, slipping out from the trench, makes you strong!"
"Die, all of you!"
"Dive!"
The Magic Bug Ships turned downward, charging towards the human ocean people’s battle formation.
"Die!"
The Demon Prince led the charge, swooping down towards the commander at the front.
That commander was a female knight clad in simple armor.
"A fine head; you’ll be my trophy!"
"Go, bind her with your poisonous tentacles!"
The Magic Bug Ship extended its tentacle-like gill filaments, while the Demon Prince leveled his halberd, ready to sever the head of this overconfident woman!
But then he saw the woman, and all the warriors in formation, make a strange gesture.
They stood with legs together and straight, arms stretched symmetrically pointing diagonally upwards, palms facing outwards, fingers joined and pointing towards the sky.
It looked… like prayer!?
"Ha!?"
"You think prayer can stop…"
"What—!"
Almost instantly, the Demon Prince sensed danger.
He tried to halt the Magic Bug Ship, but it was impossible; inertia kept the craft hurtling forward.
Half a second later, he saw the praying woman adopt a combat stance – squatting low in a horse stance, fists clenched and drawn back, poised to strike!
"Haa—!"
With a sharp cry, her fist, blazing with solar radiance, slammed into the head of the Magic Bug Ship.
Both the Demon Prince and the Magic Bug Ship were flooded with uncontrollable terror.
The brilliance was blinding, forcing his eyes shut.
The wildly burning Chaos Energy dimmed before that light, scattering in retreat.
The powerful armor and shield, forged from chaotic Magic Power, disintegrated like snow under the blazing sun, utterly melting away before this vibrant, yet strangely cold and ruthless force.
"No—!"
"Ah!"
Terrified, the Demon Prince frantically shed his armor and leapt from the ship.
It was very embarrassing.
But this embarrassment saved his life for the moment.
“Boom——!”
The female knight’s heavy strike hit the head of the Magic Bug Ship, bursting a huge mass of flesh and blood.
Her fist tore through the Magic Bug Ship’s body and burst out from the tail, brutally ripping the whole ship in two.
The other demons faced similar fates.
Their opponents weren’t as fierce; at least, they had to wield hammers and giant swords!
Their weapons were sharp and heavy when striking enemies, but swinging them felt as light as bamboo poles.
This was the “artifact” made from the “god’s vertebrae”!
It was crafted from rare materials “dug up” from the remnants left behind by the “Giant God”!
These warriors glimmered with the same sun-like brilliance that shone from the female knight.
Using this sacred light, they drove away chaos, fought demons, forcing the chaotic demons to flee in panic, howling everywhere.
Almost instantly, the demons were defeated, and their line was about to collapse.
“Humph!”
“Bang!”
The female knight knocked Demon Prince to the ground and firmly stepped on his head.
“It’s time for you to pay for your sins!”
“Your head and soul will be the best gift to my god!”
“Demon!”
Sulya’s beautiful face was full of the joy and satisfaction of revenge.
After receiving their sacrifices, “Giant God Trilobite” gladly gave them something precious—the Solar Holy Light system!
This cultivation system seamlessly connected with the magic system the ocean people had practiced before, letting high-tier warriors learn quickly and, as long as they stayed loyal to the god, unleash the Holy Light that countered chaos.
So, the new profession of “Solar Knight” was born in the deep sea, where the sun seemed out of place!
With the power granted by the Giant God, the ocean people finally held their heads high and turned the tide.
“Praise the Giant God!”
“It was You who gave us hope and salvation in the Abyss.”
“Great is the Giant God!”
“We will carry out Your will, hunting Your enemies on land, sea, and sky, offering the blood of evildoers to You!”
Demon Prince struggled, but it did no good.
“Ah——!”
He howled in agony, feeling that whenever he touched that female knight, the chaotic power inside him was burned and neutralized…
For a demon, this was the worst corruption!
However, the Demon Prince still had no intention of surrendering.
“Hahaha…”
“You… your gloating won’t last long!”
“We merely uncovered your scouts and decoys!”
“Our sovereign—the mighty Hell Battleship, the great Abomination King Balabali—already knows your whereabouts!”
“He follows close behind us, approaching even now!”
“You’re finished!”
True to the Demon Prince’s boast, an enormous shadow emerged in the distance.
A terrifying, colossal giant beast!

Trilobite had always kept his trilobite-style compound eyes.
One reason was practicality!
Whether trilobites, star armor fish, or later Armored Fish, all were primarily bottom-dwellers.
Living on the seabed meant constantly stirring up muddy sand.
Hadn’t Trilobite created utter murkiness when battling the "tooth stones"?
Without his innate "calcite goggles," he’d see nothing in the sediment-choked depths—no resolution could save him.
Trilobite eyes were remarkably advanced, solving challenges most later species couldn’t crack.
In short…
Flesh is frail!
Calcite reigns supreme!
The other reason? Trilobite’s stinginess.
Though System Lady once advised adding more compound eyes, he preferred investing points into weapons.
Eyes? Functional was enough.
Priority went to boosting his physique and defenses—layering armor until sea scorpions, cornerstones, and strange prawns posed no threat. Extras could wait.
Hence, his vision remained poor.
But caution and steadiness easily offset this flaw!
Like now: though casting a shield spell, he placed the Ball Joint Armor high overhead while staying buried in his seabed "cave."
Only his head protruded, disguised as stone, observing covertly.
His prudence paid off.
Take those "sea worms" he’d mistaken for a second school—closer inspection revealed not a swarm of fish-shaped larvae, but one enormous worm!
Nearly his own size!
Despite Trilobite’s crude vision, the creature’s features stood out.
Ten pairs of caterpillar-like walking legs! Ten pairs of flapping paddle-limbs propelling its elongated body through water!
Symmetrical bullhorn structures jutted from its head’s front, tentacles coating their forward-facing sides.
Below, an "anus-like" mouth writhed, whispering cruelty and hunger!
Paleontological knowledge surfaced: Trilobite identified it.
"Ah, likely some ancient worm from the Abominable Worm genus."
Abominable Worms belonged to leaf-limbed creatures, radiodonts; though not echinoderms, they defied earthly norms.
Less alien-bizarre than echinoderms, but more hellish-terrifying.
The name fit perfectly.
"But no matter—this thing seems manageable!"
Despite sharing class and order with strange prawns, this Abominable Worm lagged far behind. Its horn-tentacles lacked offensive utility, and it fell short in size.
A true predatory strange prawn over one meter long? Trilobite would flee instantly!
Unless he’d grown jaws.
"Hope my new skill works…"
"Huh?"
Suddenly, Trilobite’s Chaos Energy inexplicably rose by 2. Simultaneously, the Abominable Worm accelerated—charging blindly toward the transparent Ball Joint Armor.
It wasn’t testing durability; it simply hadn’t noticed the barrier!
"Two pieces of good news at once!"
