Chapter 101: The Holy Tree and New Equipment
Bubble World Themis.
This was once a "fragile world" torn apart by chaos, almost broken; but with the Giant God’s hard work, chaos was driven out, and most of Themis came back to life.
The Giant God’s old home—the underwater City of Dimensions—became a holy place and a key industrial city for the whole world.
The entire ring-shaped mountain was made from "ordered" Primal Mud, giving nearly endless power for big factories and heavy industry.
Inside the City of Dimensions, the buried "divine grace mounds" slowly turned hard, becoming "divine grace ore." Though this ore held many times more energy than "Primal Mud," much of it was locked away safely.
Only a little of the mined "divine grace ore" was used, not for power, but to pull out lots of "god bone fragments" as stuff for making weapons.
With these pieces, tons of artifact-level gear could be made fast.
As the Giant God’s former home, the City of Dimensions was sacred; nobody dared to touch even dirt or rocks here. Only mining ships and "multi-functional constructs" digging the "divine grace mounds" could go in or out.
Around the mountain, the Themis people built many underwater docks and factories, turning the whole area into a workshop zone; almost every warship came from here.
But the City of Dimensions wasn’t the only holy spot.
Another was the Giant God’s new wonder—the Holy Tree Lorilynn!
It stood tall and elegant on the ruins wrecked by chaos, reaching high into the sky.
The Giant God planted it and poured lots of energy into it, making it sprout and grow strong quickly!
By now, it towered like a mountain.
Its huge green leaves shone with a soft light, like a graceful maiden standing tall.
Even so big, living saint Sulya said it was still just a baby tree; later, it would get much taller!
This sacred giant tree kept giving off "Holy Light from the Sun," cleaning the land spoiled by chaos and spreading strong "life energy" rays all around, helping everything come back to life.
The ecosystem rebuilt fast!
Though the Holy Tree itself was a gift to Themis, that wasn’t all it did for Bubble World Themis.
It was planted over the net path entrance, with long roots digging deep into the ground, anchoring the Crystal Walls.
Even better, the tree seemed to "guard its turf"; roots stretched past the Crystal Walls, pushing away Subspace roots trying to get close to Bubble World Themis.
At the net path entrance, its roots kept growing, making the spot stronger so it wouldn’t get bigger.
But the Giant God’s kindness didn’t stop there.
"Lady Sulya, since the Giant God put in the Holy Tree, we don’t need to fret over raw stuff anymore!"
In the underwater mountain’s factory, Icarus the Technician was overjoyed.
He leaned on a rail by the cliff edge. Below, a huge "10X10" shipyard grid lay; in half the docks, many industrial constructs and upgraded workers climbed up and down.
Over a hundred thousand people worked together, shaping "Trilobite" giant ships right in their hands.
Themis world’s all-out effort, plus the quick-build tech from Ranger Ark Iyangden, let the Themis people make things in huge amounts very fast.
Far off in the shipyard, several big ships sailed slowly.
They were some of what came from this work.
"Very good!"
"Praise the Giant God! And praise everyone’s efforts!"
If spoken today, these words might seem odd.
It’s like those who receive help to escape hardship yet thank God before acknowledging their benefactors.
But no one present found it strange.
"Yes! Praise the Giant God!"
Icarus and his technical team nodded in agreement, honoring the Giant God.
"Without this sacred tree planted by the Giant God, we couldn’t mass-produce battleships capable of threatening chaos deities—at least the lower demon gods and those Hell Battleships!"
Just then…
"Boom—!"
A colossal vessel roared overhead past Sulya and the others.
Craning their necks, they saw the peculiar limb-shaped mechanical structures mounted beneath the warship’s foremost section—the Thunder Sledgehammer!
This wasn’t Sulya’s Giant God’s Radiance, nor any vessel from the previous battle. It was a newly outfitted leviathan!
"The Holy Tree Lorilynn dropped one enormous leaf weekly."
"Through refinement, we extracted materials rivaling—even surpassing—the Fantasy Tree of Subspace’s fibers in strength!"
"And the supply was abundant!"
"Thus, sister ships like the Son of the Giant God became producible en masse!"
Sulya gave a slow nod.
Having shared multiple mental connections with the Giant God, she understood: the "Holy Tree Lorilynn" resembled the "Fantasy Tree of Subspace" yet stood as its polar opposite.
Hence its mountain-like stature, bearing leaves spanning square kilometers!
"Rush production!"
"The net path entrance remains vulnerable."
Fortified by Holy Tree Lorilynn and Crystal Walls, Bubble World Themis was nearly impregnable—only the net path posed danger.
Though chaos deities seemed preoccupied elsewhere, their eventual attention was inevitable.
When that day came, Themis people would bar their advance with mountains of steel and rivers of blood.
"Praise the Giant God… uh…"
Sulya’s prayer fractured.
A splitting pain speared through her skull.
But perhaps accustomed to such agony, or strengthened by the Giant God’s enhancements, her soul rebuffed the tearing torment instantly.
"Hah… hah… hah…"
Moments later, she rose slowly, drenched in sweat.
Meeting the worried faces around her, Sulya offered a faint smile.
"Don’t worry!"
"Good news!"
"The Giant God had granted us new technology again!"
"This time, we could participate more deeply in the net path project!"
Soon, all technicians received a gift within the Soul Network.
The gift contained…
"This…!?"
"A composite magic-guided fiber with spatial binding capability and its production process!?"
—-
"Hmm, this spider’s ‘spinneret’ turned out quite well."
"Thanks a lot, customer service lady!"
[You’re welcome.]
"Hehe."
The system customer service maintained a "sickly girl" persona. Though sparing with words, she always gave Trilobite the gentle impression of an elder sister.
How to describe it…
While not as lively as Miss Themis, her voice carried a unique, pleasant charm.
Besides, this young lady proved utterly reliable!
Just moments ago, she’d reminded Trilobite to retrieve the fallen "organ component."
Originally a "viscous liquid secretion gland," Trilobite spent 1000 Chaos Energy to upgrade it into a "spinneret," then tossed it to his "Symbiont Number One" – young lady Trilobite.
This actually made sense.
Eel slime extract could produce bulletproof fibers; with slight modifications, upgrading to a "spinneret" seemed feasible.
"Right! I’ve strengthened my Trilobite spawn’s limbs, and now giving them spider-like spinnerets will make them even more formidable!"
"Plus, I can use that thing to reinforce the tunnels I dug."
Trilobite recalled how flimsy his express tunnels were – messy intruders constantly broke in to damage them.
Destruction right before his eyes was tolerable (free meals, after all), but he dreaded those loach-like lungfish sabotaging tunnels behind his back.
Having his Trilobite spawn reinforce his hard-"squeezed" tunnels with spider silk? Perfect.
"Excellent!"
"Now, with the spawn upgraded, next comes myself…"
"Huh?"
Trilobite’s Olfactory Membranes and Lorentz’s Jar blared alarms again.
Uninvited guests had returned!
