Chapter 33: Title
Gu Hengbo was a bit dazed by this sudden change. She blinked, “Your Highness, I—”
Before she could finish, Lian Rong leaned down and sealed her lips, preventing her from rambling. Gu Hengbo clenched her teeth, refusing to let her in. Lian Rong bit her soft lips, and Gu Hengbo, unable to resist, had to yield. Lian Rong’s agile tongue slipped in and, after a playful dance, it chased after Gu Hengbo’s retreating tongue, entangling them together.
Gu Hengbo was left a bit dazed; even kissing felt so intense. What was the relationship between Lian Rong and that woman named Long?
Their lips pressed tightly together, and suddenly Lian Rong opened her eyes. Gu Hengbo’s gaze met hers unexpectedly, and she found herself momentarily stunned by Lian Rong’s deep, dark eyes.
A smile flashed in Lian Rong’s eyes as she slightly tilted her head. Her lips moved away from Gu Hengbo’s, and it took a moment for Gu Hengbo to remember to breathe in fresh air. Lian Rong squeezed Gu Hengbo’s hand that was pinned beneath her. “Your Highness’s hands are really soft.”
Gu Hengbo caught her breath. “You mentioned that when I entered.”
Lian Rong chuckled. “Yes, I did. Let’s do it again.” Without giving Gu Hengbo a chance to respond, she pressed her lips down once more—this time not playfully, but with a sense of urgency, almost biting her lips. Gu Hengbo winced in pain, feeling helpless as her strength was limited; Lian Rong showed no sign of relenting, staring at her like she was crazy.
Lian Rong released her lips, breathing heavily. “Let’s do it again.”
Gu Hengbo didn’t even have a chance to say a word before another long kiss fell upon her. Undeniably, she was a normal woman, and she surprisingly felt something from the kiss. Well, that was quite embarrassing. Just as she thought her tongue might cramp, Lian Rong’s actions stopped.
"How does it feel?" A low, hoarse voice whispered in Gu Hengbo’s ear.
"……"
Lian Rong turned his head, exhaled, and lightly licked her earlobe with his tongue. "This king has been abstinent for a long time; do you know that?"
Gu Hengbo tilted her head in return. The intensity from earlier hadn’t faded yet, and she blinked, thinking, “What nonsense.”
A hint of mischief flashed in Lian Rong’s eyes. “Then the crown princess must serve this king well tonight.”
"……"
"The crown princess might not know, but what this king likes most is to be a bit forceful. The more you resist, the happier this king becomes. Would you like to try?" He truly didn’t believe he couldn’t handle her.
Gu Hengbo secretly cursed him as a weirdo. She put on a flattering expression and said, "Maybe, maybe not."
"Gu Meisheng, since you are unwilling, give this king a reason," Lian Rong said with an expressionless face.
Gu Hengbo noticed how quickly she changed her demeanor; she had never seen Lian Rong like this. “I’m just a concubine with an impure body; how could I sully the prince?”
Lian Rong raised an eyebrow. “Indeed, this king had almost forgotten that matter.”
Gu Hengbo mimicked his eyebrow raise and said, “The reason the prince agreed to marry me must be that I have some value, right? How could the prince forget about my lost purity?”
Lian Rong stared at her for a moment. “Do you think you’re smart?”
Gu Hengbo looked directly into his eyes. “Of course I’m not smart. I just think we should clarify things between us.” Although she had no idea what Lian Rong’s purpose was, she wasn’t a fool. A prince and a rich man was unlikely to marry a mere girl like her just because she asked. She didn’t believe Lian Rong was genuinely interested in her.
Lian Rong chuckled lightly. “Why make things so clear? That ‘concubine’ title suits you; you shall refer to yourself as such from now on.”
Gu Hengbo shot her a glance. “Wasn’t that reason sufficient? Won’t the prince get up?”
Lian Rong sat up on the bed to look at her. “Are you very hungry?” He remembered her saying she always wanted to eat when she saw him, and she hadn’t eaten all day, had she?
Gu Hengbo nodded. “Yes, I want to eat.”
Lian Rong turned his head to glance at the table, which was filled with pastries. According to Dongyin customs, no dishes could be prepared in the wedding room on the wedding day, so he asked, “What do you want to eat?”
Gu Hengbo thought for a moment. “Lotus, um, buns.”
Lian Rong looked at her. “There isn’t anything like that in this residence. Is it really that delicious?”
Gu Hengbo sat up on the bed and nodded vigorously. “Of course! Has the prince never tried it?”
Lian Rong watched her head for a moment. “Never tried it.”
Excitedly, Gu Hengbo took Lian Rong’s hand and started walking out. “Then let’s go eat outside! I know where it’s lively at night. I’ll treat you.”
“You plan to go out like this?” Lian Rong couldn’t bear to look at her; it was truly a sight that was hard to watch.
Gu Hengbo turned back to look at him. “What’s wrong?”
Lian Rong rubbed her messy hair, which looked like a crazy mess. “You can’t go out like this; don’t say this king knows you.”
Gu Hengbo let go of his hand and ran to the mirror. Her long black hair, which was originally up, was now scattered everywhere, with some strands sticking out. The hairpin was also crooked in her hair, and her makeup was smudged and uneven. She turned around stiffly. “You can still eat like this? I’m impressed.”
By the time they left Prince Rong’s residence, it was already getting dark. Gu Hengbo looked back at the brightly lit Prince Rong’s residence. “Is it okay for us to just run out like this? Shouldn’t we let Steward Feng know? Won’t she be worried if she can’t find us?”
“She won’t.”
“Did you tell Steward Feng?” Gu Hengbo asked.
"Not really."
"I said."
"Do you really like Qian Yue?" Lian Rong suddenly asked.
Gu Hengbo felt confused. "It’s okay, but having a beautiful woman as a housekeeper is truly a waste."
"Oh, the crown princess means I should take her in?"
"Whatever, do as you please, my prince," Gu Hengbo said cheerfully. "Taking her in would be good; that girl might really like you."
Lian Rong glanced at her and said nothing.
Gu Hengbo looked at her clothes. "Are these clothes prepared in advance?"
"Of course, they were prepared."
"How did they know what size I wear?"
"I told them."
"What do you mean?"
A smile flashed in Lian Rong’s eyes as she reached out and pinched Gu Hengbo’s bottom. "Think for yourself."
Taking advantage of her again. Gu Hengbo gritted her teeth, feeling that the bad habit was similar to that of the woman named Longyang. "Do you know a woman named Longyang?"
Lian Rong slowed down and walked side by side with Gu Hengbo. "I do."
Gu Hengbo’s eyes widened, instinctively asking, "Is she your biological sister?"
Lian Rong smiled. "You have a great imagination. Unfortunately, she is not."
"Then you two…"
"We’ve arrived; this is the place the crown princess mentioned, right?"
Gu Hengbo looked at the lively street. "Um, we should call each other something else here."
"Okay."
"Hey there, come in and have some fun! This way, this way!"
Gu Hengbo opened her mouth, staring at the woman waving a handkerchief nearby. "Are we going to eat buns inside?"
Lian Rong nodded. "Isn’t this the place you were talking about?"
Gu Hengbo frowned and shook her head. "I don’t go to brothels. Do you want to go in for… company, or to eat?"
"Both are fine."
"Then how about this: let’s change places, like going to the South Wind Pavilion."
"What kind of place is that?" Lian Rong asked curiously.
"It’s similar to a brothel, but the ones inside are all men, commonly known as ‘little servants,’" Gu Hengbo said excitedly.
Lian Rong frowned. "I’m not interested in men."
"I’m interested in men," Gu Hengbo said without thinking. "Uh, I just find it a bit curious."
Lian Rong thought for a moment. "It seems there really is such a place."
Gu Hengbo’s eyes lit up. "Really?"
Lian Rong nodded. "It should be around here. Let me ask someone."
Gu Hengbo was almost scared to death and quickly grabbed Lian Rong, who was about to leave. "You have some nerve. For something like this, cough, let me ask instead."
Lian Rong looked at her women’s clothes. "Do you think it would be more suitable for you to go?"
She was indirectly insulting her.
"Alright, you go ask," Gu Hengbo agreed.
