Chapter 213: You Seem Like a Dog
Just as Elise was puzzled by suddenly seeing the green light, the other female leads were also experiencing their own stories.
Lord Demon King was sitting upright in a dining room, waiting for the restaurant owner to pour her a cup of red tea, which she sipped after raising it.
After tasting it, she furrowed her brows, set down the tea cup and said, "Long time no see, but it seems like your tea-making skills have deteriorated."
Standing across from her was a sharply dressed, upright blonde man.
His eyes narrowed as he poured himself another cup of tea, took a sip, and regained his smile, which surprisingly had a hint of female elegance.
"I suppose Suyu, you have become more demanding?"
"Yes."
Suyu propped up her chin, squinted her eyes slightly, with a hint of confusion in her gaze.
Perhaps she had grown used to drinking tea made by her junior brother, making other teas less appealing.
"However, Crimson Moon, you should not use this appearance, it’s somewhat awkward to look at."
The blonde man lowered his eyes as black smoke surrounded him. In the dark mist, a figure could be seen starting to transform, slim at the waist but getting chubby in certain areas.
As the smoke cleared, a woman with long chestnut hair and a perfect figure appeared in front of Suyu.
She was dressed in a black gown, wearing a half-mask resembling that of a magician. Her once reserved demeanor turned more lively and outgoing.
Suyu glanced at her tall and chubby figure with a hint of jealousy flashing by.
"So, what benefit does this bring to you?"
"Oh."
Crimson Moon shook her menacingly and asked with a smile, "Did I just see a certain exiled Lord Demon King feeling jealous a moment ago?"
Suyu remained unchanging, though there was a hint of coldness in her expression. "Answer my question first."
"Never mind, we’re friends after all. Actually, I’m not really interested in saving Witchcraft or anything, but it’s just a side benefit. What truly interests me are treasures, such as the most outstanding puppet, enough to make one’s heart race, right?"
"You should have known about that thing long ago, why are you only coming now?"
In Crimson Moon’s dark eyes, a hint of surprise flickered, as he gazed seriously at Suyu for a while before smiling, "I didn’t know early on, actually, it was my rebellious cousin who was responsible for this matter. After finding a clue, he didn’t report back immediately, but went alone to search for the seal."
Suyu nodded, "That’s true, you don’t have as much time to stay hidden by an old man’s side for long."
"The relic notes left by that old fellow were not very detailed, so it took a long time to investigate. My useless cousin spent several years before finally finding that place. However, there were guardians inside, and he was nearly beaten to death. If our clan didn’t have a special escape method, he would have died there. Even after he escaped back, he was no different from a cripple."
Crimson Moon tapped the table and continued, "You know I’m most interested in treasures and such, that’s why I came. It’s just been a long time since I’ve seen an old friend, so I came to catch up."
Suyu’s calm demeanor suddenly turned icy, as demonic energy began to surge between her fingers.
"Since we have the same goal, let’s decide ownership, and I don’t think having a friend who defects to the enemy is acceptable."
"Don’t speak of defection so harshly, it’s just a mutual benefit. If you have any leverage, even if there’s a loss, I will help you, okay?"
"Let’s go by abilities. This time I came not just to catch up, you know from childhood to now, there’s nothing I want that I can’t have."
Even faced with the imposing Demon King, Crimson Moon remained calm and relaxed, appearing carefree.
"You seem so impatient, not like you at all. But when it comes to ownership, I have a better suggestion. Fighting isn’t always the answer. Besides, I’m confident that you can’t catch me if I run now. How about we have a game instead?"
Suyu’s momentum slightly decreased, smiling mysteriously. "Sure, but you seem to have forgotten one thing – when it comes to games, you’ve never beaten me."
The black fox naturally knew about the Master of Night Demon’s abilities, they were childhood friends after all, quite familiar with each other.
Initially thinking they could trap her, now seeing her so confident, they wondered if she had gained some new talent.
Crimson Moon wouldn’t lie to her about this matter, especially because she didn’t really want to harm Crimson Moon.
Loyalty was not in Night Demon’s dictionary, only chips to play. The previous Master of Night Demon, Samuel, who switched sides – it wasn’t really considered betrayal since there was no loyalty to begin with.
For thousands of years, Night Demon had always been like this.
Crimson Moon and her still had occasional contact. She inherited the position of the Master of Night Demon, as well as the role of the Demon King’s apostle.
Suyu was confident that she could easily turn the tables on the guy who only cared about winning chips and was also inheriting Night Demon at the last minute.
"I have made progress over these years."
Crimson Moon’s tone turned sour, as if recalling unpleasant memories, couldn’t help but mock, "Besides, just because you want something doesn’t mean you can always get it, right? For example, your fero… How come you haven’t changed a bit in so many years? I suggest you use illusions to cover it up, or you might not find a boyfriend, you know?"
Suyu’s smile widened, feeling proud and a bit sweet, "You don’t need to worry about this, I already have… a boyfriend."
"Wha… What!?"
Crimson Moon’s calm expression turned into shock. She jumped up from her chair, pointing a shaky finger at Suyu, stammering.
"You… You have a boyfriend? You… You are a Demon King, how could you possibly have a boyfriend?! This is impossible! How could it happen before me…?"
"Oh, what a pity. Not only do I have a boyfriend, he’s also a cute and caring younger student."
Now, Crimson Moon felt even more jealous, her face turning red. After a while, she managed to say, "A younger guy… tsk! You… I don’t care about you! Anyway, I have won this game!"
Suyu propped up her chin, smiling gently, and said in a calm tone, "Even if you win, you’ve never been in love."
"I… you’re so fierce! Even if you fall in love and get married, what about the children’s food in the future?"
"But you’ve never been in love."
"You’re just a nobody, why are you so proud! Believe it or not, I will go back and tell Samuel about you!"
"You betrayed me, cutting off all ties, even if no one wants me, even if no one wants me, you’ve never been in love."
"Who… who says no one wants me!"
Crimson Moon, who usually sounded mature and calm, sounded a bit frantic, "It’s because I look down on those useless people! If I could beat you…"
"Oh, someone seems to be a dog."
"Suyu!"
"A dog who has never been in love, be good, believe me, you will have the chance after a few hundred years."
"Are you cursing at me?!"
"Ah, surprisingly exposed, truly worthy of being Night Demon…ugh."
Suyu, who was still arguing, suddenly blurred before her eyes, feeling a sourness in her heart, as if something important had been tainted, feeling a bit bewildered for a moment.
