Chapter 5: Liuliu Yue and Su Huan Have Become Lovers?
Staring at the courtyard’s data in a daze for half a day, Su Huan still found it hard to believe. He sent Liuliu Yue a dozen question marks in a row.
Seen and not replied.
Naturally, there was no need to say more – the other party wouldn’t reply anymore.
Su Huan burst out laughing. “Ha ha, just you wait, we’ll meet again later. You’re in for it this time!”
After sending it out, half a day passed with still no reply whatsoever.
Su Huan sighed helplessly. Now that the body-swapping bug had been fixed, they were back to being enemies again, so there was really no need to say anything more. This time around, they were both reborn at the same time, and it remained to be seen who would grow faster.
But then again, by giving Liuliu Yue a negative achievement with the cheat, she might have inadvertently done something good in the end… Although a bit cunning and malicious, he wasn’t doing it on purpose.
Thinking about this, Su Huan shook his head and stopped dwelling on Liuliu Yue. He shifted his focus to the Thunder Element beside him.
At this moment, a small elemental sprite wrapped in purple lightning was floating in the air, with a cute little purple horn on its head, looking at itself with curiosity and innocence.
Watching the Battle Pet that had been with him for ten years, even more synchronized than a married couple, Su Huan waved happily.
After a moment of confusion, the Thunder Element obediently floated to the top of his head and settled down as usual. Although there were no visible changes in its master’s appearance, it could sense clearly that its familiar master had returned.
“Back to the thunder-type lineup suits me better after all,” Su Huan mused. “Liuliu Yue’s initial Battle Pet may seem strong on the surface, but true combat depends on the resonance and cooperation between the trainer and the Battle Pet. Within six months, Thunder Element must evolve into the ultimate stage, or else it will be impossible to withstand that disaster.”
After muttering to himself, Su Huan’s expression became serious again. He quickly tidied up his uniform, took Thunder Element, and walked out of the new dormitory towards the Battle Hall.
Since he knew everything that would happen in the future, he couldn’t just sit around and wait. He had to make even more aggressive use of the Point System than in his past life and evolve quickly to a level surpassing all Battle Pet Masters.
In the middle of the night, Su Huan arrived at the Battle Hall of Tianfeng Battle Pet Academy – the same place where Liuliu Yue, in his body just hours ago, had suffered a brutal beating.
After walking around casually, Su Huan chose an empty battle pod and lay down inside. Soon, his consciousness connected successfully with the device, and a holographic interface slowly appeared before his eyes.
[Identity information detected, automatically connected to Tianfeng Battle Pet Academy’s Battle Channel]
[ID: Thunder Element Best]

[Data loading…]
After a few seconds, several dazzling battle modes appeared:
[1v1 Solo Mode]
[Personal/Team 3v3 Battle]
[5v5 Team Battle/Wheel Fight]
[Dungeon Rush]
[Hundred Pets Battle Royale (Popular)]
Without hesitation, Su Huan entered the Hundred Pets Battle Royale mode. Despite its slow matching speed and requirement of at least 80 players to start, this mode was most suitable for earning points with the Point System. Battle modes like 1v1 and 3v3 would take far too long to earn enough points with Thunder Element.
“It’s been so long since I fought alongside an early-stage Thunder Element, my senses feel a bit rusty,” he muttered. “Let’s just play a casual match first, to restore some Resonance Value…”
After 20 minutes of waiting, they finally gathered 80 students and the battle officially began.
[Hundred Pets Battle Royale, map being generated]
[Large map: Mountain forest area]
[Number of participants: 85]
In a vast mountainous forest, dozens of phantom figures slowly began to take shape and spread out across different areas. Among them was a girl with light green double ponytails wearing Tianfeng Academy’s white short skirt uniform, shiny knee-high black stockings, and a pink heart cartoon sticker on her cheek.
This was Feng Qinqin, a newcomer at Tianfeng Battle Pet Academy, ranked seventh. Just yesterday she had been ranked thirteenth, but after a practice exam, she jumped to seventh place. Ironically, the former seventh place holder, Su Huan, was nowhere to be seen now.
“Speaking of which, did Su Huan fall ill or something?” she wondered. “I thought he was pretty strong, but he suddenly collapsed this time. I wonder if he had a falling out with his Battle Pet – why couldn’t he even use a skill in battle? After a month of training, did the Resonance Value of that Thunder Element pet actually decrease instead of increase?”
Hovering behind her, a little elemental sprite with green swirling wind blades slowly rose into the air, cautiously observing any suspicious movements around.
Soon, there was a sound of footsteps from the side. Upon hearing it, the floating Wind Elemental immediately swung its arms in that direction.
“Whoosh!!”
A crescent-shaped green elemental wind blade swept through like a sickle, cutting all obstacles within a ten-meter radius into pieces. The vast forest was cleared by the wind blade, splitting both the student and his Battle Pet behind the trees in half. The male student had a look of disbelief as he retreated, not even clear about how he died before turning into specks of light and dissipating.
After dealing with one person, Feng Qinqin’s face remained expressionless as she continued moving with the Wind Element. Soon after, she encountered another student whose Battle Pet was a dark-type ghost wolf at the infancy stage, known for its swift movement speed. However, before the ghost wolf could even lift its foot, it was cut into pieces by the Wind Element’s rapid long-range wind blades, almost invisible to the naked eye.
“Impressive, the Wind Blades are launching even faster now,” she noted with satisfaction. “At this rate, it should evolve into a Purple Skill by the end of this month.”
Having successfully defeated two people in a row, Feng Qinqin looked pleased with the Wind Element’s current strength. It’s worth noting that achieving a Purple Skill was already the limit for an ordinary infancy-stage Battle Pet. Even many second-year and third-year students’ trump cards were purple. She thought she could soon become the new chief student, challenging the more experienced senior students. So far, she had not heard of anyone’s Battle Pet mastering the Golden Skill in infancy-stage.
However, just as Feng Qinqin was happily fantasizing, the moment she walked out of the forest, her breath suddenly caught. In an open space a dozen meters ahead, a black-haired young man with Thunder Element looming behind slowly turned his head – it was Su Huan, who she had just defeated today.
However, his condition was completely different from during the daytime! Purple thunder crackled all over his body like a spider web, even his originally drooping hair stood on end like sharp hedgehog spines. Not only his hairstyle but also the air within a few meters around him was filled with the thunderous aura emitted by the Thunder Element, bursting and surging. Arcs of electricity flickered as thunder light exploded.
While it was undeniable that thunder-type battle pets would ruin their owner’s hairstyle in battle, wasn’t this momentum a bit too over-the-top?
“Wait, how high is this Resonance Value!?” Feng Qinqin thought in shock. “This Thunder Element and the one from daytime are definitely not the same one, right…?”
The Wind Element, realizing the danger, immediately waved both hands, making a pre-emptive gesture to release a wind blade.
“—Falling Thunder—”
In that moment, as Su Huan’s lips moved, the air fell silent. Without warning, a purple light burst in front of Feng Qinqin and the Wind Element, shattering the entire scene before their eyes. The bursting purple lightning descended from the sky, turning everything within dozens of meters into ashes. The trembling shockwave caused the entire forest area to boil with scorching air, leaving all trees and rocks destroyed.
The deafening noise even scared many Battle Pets several kilometers away. After a dozen seconds, the dust settled. Two burnt skeletons slowly collapsed like flowing sand. Until they turned into dots of light and dispersed, Feng Qinqin remained stunned with wide eyes.
“What is Su Huan thinking?” she wondered. “Playing around during the daytime ranking assessment, but suddenly serious during the nighttime match. Does he even realize the importance of rankings?”
[Falling Thunder (Purple Skill, summons powerful thunder attack that causes massive destruction to all targets within a large area with lightning damage)]
The battle ended in the very first second they met. Facing the Thunder Element’s large area attack, Feng Qinqin and her Wind Element didn’t even have a chance to fight back before turning to ashes.
The lightning-shaped spike on top of the Thunder Element’s head stood tall, the arc of light flickering like a dangerous lightning rod. Falling Thunder was strong, but it had a long cooldown time – it had to wait for the temperature of the Thunder Element’s head spike to drop before it could be used again.
Su Huan, who had defeated his opponent, immediately checked the Point System.
[Points +2]
“Earned two points in the game? It seems this opponent’s skill level was pretty good at the beginner stage.”
Before Feng Qinqin arrived, Thunder Element had already casually defeated seven or eight Battle Pets, earning one point each time, except for this time when they earned two points.
After closing the system interface, Su Huan quietly observed Thunder Element’s current state. After using a Purple Skill, its power not only didn’t decrease but increased, and the surrounding thunderous aura continued to grow stronger.
“The Resonance Value should be close to 90% now, right?” he mused. “If I’m not mistaken, in my previous life at this time, the Resonance Value between Thunder Element and me was only around 60%. It seems that even though it’s been a long time since I interacted with the beginner-stage Thunder Element, the instinct engraved in the beast gene won’t disappear.”
Without mentioning the information and intelligence he had before being reborn, just the Resonance Value alone was already an unreasonable advantage. The higher the Resonance Value of a Battle Pet, the stronger its physical abilities, the higher its skill power, and the more directly it related to the next stage of evolution. Having a Resonance Value close to 90% at the beginning of school would almost terrify the new students from the same period.
After letting Thunder Element rest until the high temperature in its horn area went down, Su Huan began searching again.
[Lightning Strike]
[Falling Thunder]
[Lightning Chain]
“Boom! Boom! Boom!”
Thunder raged, spreading destruction wildly. Several skills like thunder were used one after another, leveling entire areas. Under the terrifying power of Thunder Element with a resonance value of up to 90%, no young Battle Pet could withstand a single blow, nearly blasting through half of the mountain range.
After about fifteen minutes, the Thunder Element that had killed a total of 31 Battle Pets finally exhausted itself. No matter how much electricity it tried to accumulate on its horn, it could no longer squeeze out even a tiny bit of power. The remaining points in the Point System froze at 35.
“You’ve worked hard, go home and rest,” Su Huan said, patting its horn comfortingly. After all, it was just a young creature at the beginning stage – no matter how strong its attacking power, its stamina and energy had limits.
Meanwhile, after waiting anxiously for 30 minutes, Feng Qinqin finally received notification that the battle had ended. She immediately checked the battle record panel.
[Thunder Element Best: 31 kills, quit halfway, not counted in the record]
Seeing the outrageously high kill count, Feng Qinqin’s eyes widened, and her expression gradually became blank. Her mouth was slightly open, unable to speak for a long time.
Yesterday’s top scorer at the end of the month only had 27 kills in a battle royale with over 300 people. Meanwhile, Su Huan and his Thunder Element had managed to get 31 kills in a match with just 85 players… not to mention, there were also experienced 2nd graders in this late-night match!
“What kind of crazy killing monster is this?” she murmured in disbelief. Seeing Su Huan’s serious demeanor, she couldn’t understand his strange behavior during the day even more. Was it really possible for someone’s skill level to fluctuate so drastically between night and day? It was like he was a completely different person…
At the same time, in White Moon State, at the Double Moon Sect, inside a top-notch luxurious Virtual Battle capsule, a girl with long golden hair was controlling the Thunder Element in the Virtual Battle space for training.
Under her control, the Thunder Element moved like a fast thunderbolt cutting through the battlefield, instantly shattering the targets of three infancy-stage battle pets on its path with violent electricity.
“Boom, boom!!”
After a moment, the movement of the Thunder Element stopped, gradually fading away into a shadowy mist.
Looking at her excellent training results, the confusion on Liuliu Yue’s face deepened.
“Strange, why can I successfully battle with the Thunder Element in simulation mode, with the Resonance Value reaching close to 60% on the first try, but I am unable to control Su Huan’s Thunder Element?” she wondered. “Could it be that the problem isn’t with me, but with that Thunder Element instead…?”
Liuliu Yue’s previous feeling of sadness stemmed not only from mysteriously losing the battle but also because she had encountered a Battle Pet that she couldn’t control for the first time. From the moment she was born, no matter the type, she could easily manage it. Not to mention, it was the version of herself that came back from ten years later.
But since she could control the simulation mode of the Thunder Element, that means… Su Huan’s Thunder Element must have a big problem!
As she exited the training mode and returned to the lobby, a notification panel for friends popped up in front of her.
[Your contact friend (Thunder Element Best) is currently online, do you want to send a battle invitation]
[Your friend in the contact list (Thunder Element Best) is currently online, do you want to start a relationship request?]
Faced with a series of pop-ups, Liuliu Yue didn’t think much and just quickly clicked on the cancel button. Because of their hostile relationship, she didn’t want to get too involved with that man for now.
However, just after clicking the last cancel button, Liuliu Yue suddenly realized something was wrong. In a hurried glance, she seemed to have clicked on something by mistake…
On the other side, Su Huan, who was about to go offline after exiting the Hundred Pets Battle Royale mode, was suddenly presented with a message just as he was about to click the exit button.
[Your friend in the contact list (Liuliu Yue) has requested to start a relationship with you, do you agree?]
Faced with such a sudden pop-up, Su Huan couldn’t react in time and ended up clicking on the agree button.
[Relationship established.]
Su Huan, “???”
Liuliu Yue, “???”
