In a realm where swords often carve their own legendary paths, Yinghuo’s blade had found an extreme, and now, Fengyun Wuji’s Left Path marked a divergent route in the art of bladesmanship. Before his ascension, Fengyun Wuji had already witnessed the domineering presence of the blade through other masters, but it was only through personal cultivation that he truly grasped its formidable might.
His life force, a river of energy, began to deviate from its accustomed course, flowing through a meridian that extended from his left hand to the Yongquan acupoint at the soles of his feet. This energy’s transformation point was the Upper Dantian, while the Lower Dantian was the epicenter of his swordsmanship. After one full circulation, the energy had morphed into a blade-imbued force. Within a few orbits, the overbearing nature of the blade technique was laid bare. The blade energy within the meridians of Fengyun Wuji’s left hand spun with increasing velocity, until it resembled a horse that had broken free from its reins, nearly uncontrollable. This aggressive energy caused his entire left arm to swell with power.
An urge to unleash the pent-up energy surged within him. With a sudden roar, Fengyun Wuji leaped from his vantage point, his left hand slicing through the void as if it were a blade, channeling a colossal blade energy that struck the opposing mountain.
Boom!
Stones burst forth, creating a whirlwind as rocks tumbled down, amassing into a mound at the mountain’s base. Once the dust settled, a massive crack, like a scar, ran vertically up the mountain, with faint light emanating from within the fissure… This single strike had actually pierced through the mountain!
Fengyun Wuji stood proudly against the void, his long hair fluttering in the wind, feeling an immense sense of pride: “The Left Path has finally been successfully created!”
“The only thing missing is a blade!” Fengyun Wuji glanced at his left hand, where a network of blood vessels was densely distributed across the back of his palm, starkly contrasting with his pale skin.
At a certain level of martial arts proficiency, condensing the void into a solid form is not difficult. Fengyun Wuji could easily create an ice crystal long sword, but it could never compare to a true sword. In terms of sharpness, hardness, and adaptability to energy conduction, a condensed sword could never compare to a divine weapon. Moreover, with a divine sword, the speed of flying through the sky could be greatly increased. This was why Fengyun Wuji was so persistent in wanting to possess a sword of his own.
Taking a deep breath, with the cold wind caressing his face, Fengyun Wuji looked at the sky, determined the east, and was about to head towards the Blade Domain when he suddenly heard a commotion, including the clashing of metal.
His curiosity piqued, Fengyun Wuji followed the direction of the sound. After flying for several hundred miles, he finally saw a figure behind a distant mountain peak, where sword energy pierced the sky—a sign that a divine weapon was emerging.
“No way, could I be that lucky?” Fengyun Wuji thought to himself, lowering his body and skimming the ground as he circled behind the mountain.
“Xie Yue Zhen Ren, hurry up and help, I can’t hold on, this thing is too evil!” a free faction warrior shouted anxiously, swinging a simple blade that released a thousand-jun blade energy with each swing. Yet, he was being forced to retreat step by step.
Opposing him was a warrior dressed as a scholar in a long blue robe, wielding a three-foot-long green sword that emitted a bright divine light, attacking the warrior from various bizarre angles.
Fengyun Wuji was astonished; he could only see the back of the scholar in blue, unable to see his face, but that didn’t prevent him from seeing the peculiar long sword. It was clearly a flexible sword, capable of bouncing, jumping, shrinking, and folding… There seemed to be no dead angle in its attacks. Each time it coiled, the soft sword emitted a clear and melodious sword cry. What surprised Fengyun Wuji was that the free faction warrior was clearly not weak, each blade energy capable of cutting skin and splitting bodies, but when the blade energy hit the scholar in blue, there was no reaction. The scholar did not even dodge, directly attacking the warrior with a life-or-death fighting style.
“Yue Donglai, step back quickly. This Fifth Master has been dead for many years, but his resentful soul has not dissipated. His Fifth Sword Gall has become too resentful and has already taken the upper hand, controlling the corpse of the Fifth Master. We simply cannot defeat him. Several of our brothers have already been injured, so let’s wait a few more days and come back when we are fully prepared.” Xie Yue Zhen Ren had a long beard and a straight nose, with a kind face, looking like an enlightened master.
Behind Xie Yue Zhen Ren, several warriors looked at the scholar in blue with fear, their arms hanging limply, obviously shattered and unable to fight anymore.
“No, I have lived in this Valley of Life and Death for more than a hundred years, and I have paid an unknown amount of effort for this Fifth Sword Gall. I am about to succeed, how can I give up? Xie Yue, will you help or not? I only need one word from you.” The warrior continued to defend while slowly retreating, shouting hysterically.
“Okay, I’ll help!” Xie Yue Zhen Ren pondered for a long time before finally nodding. The free faction warrior was overjoyed at the news.
The two then joined forces to attack the scholar in blue. With their combined efforts, the scholar began to show signs of faltering. But at this moment, several warriors who were watching the battle from the side suddenly exclaimed, “Retreat quickly, it’s about to use that move again!”
The two were shocked by the news and quickly retreated, but it was too late. The scholar suddenly let out a shrill howl, a column of black smoke rising into the sky. Then, with the scholar at the center, space cracks radiated outward in a radius of hundreds of meters, locking the space like tree roots. The mouths of the several warriors were wide open, but no sound came out, and their bodies seemed to be bound by some force, unable to move at all.
A black arc burst from the scholar’s hand, like lightning, quickly moving back and forth in the space divided by the space cracks. In the blink of an eye, it returned to the scholar’s hand, shrinking into a spherical object the size of a goose egg.
The numerous fine space cracks within a hundred meters gradually healed, and the figures of the warriors reappeared in the now-clear space. A moment later, a breeze passed, and the several warriors suddenly turned into pieces of flesh, falling to the ground.
The scholar in blue turned around, his long hair flying up, and Fengyun Wuji saw clearly that it was not a person but a long-dead skull with long hair still on its head, no wonder it was not afraid of any blade energy attack.
The skull seemed to smell something, its forehead moving up and down, then turned towards Fengyun Wuji’s hiding place…
Fengyun Wuji leaped out, shouting loudly, the Left Path blade technique already in motion, a black arc of energy blasting out, splitting the skull directly in half, falling to the ground in two pieces.
Heaving a heavy sigh, Fengyun Wuji looked again at the place where the skull had fallen, and was shocked to see the spherical object stretching out again, turning into a long sword, with surging black fog erupting from the sword body, entering the two halves of the corpse below. Then, with a series of cracking sounds, the corpse actually stood up straight, combining into a complete skeletal body again.
A cold wind blew, and Fengyun Wuji shuddered. The skeleton in front of him slowly, step by step, came straight towards Fengyun Wuji, with long hair swaying back and forth, and the two dark eye sockets below were particularly frightening…
