Chapter 90: Climbing the Cracking Wind, the Cracking Wind Spirit Tree

Yun Ye returned along the same path, charging into the Ten Across Mountains to gather Spiritual Herbs in abundance.

When his strength ran low, he directly consumed the Spiritual Herbs to recover.

He aimed to sweep through the Ten Across Mountains and acquire enough powerful Spiritual Herbs to force his way through the Cracking Wind Narrow!

"Hee hee—"

A white beast patted its belly, making the sound of a child’s laughter.

This laughter held astonishing magical power, dimming the world around it and threatening to strip away Yun Ye’s senses.

But Yun Ye suddenly vanished.

When he reappeared, he delivered a brilliant punch that pierced through the white beast’s skull, the force blowing through the ground and creating a ten-meter deep pit.

"Poof…"

Yun Ye spat blood, with cracks forming all over his body, but he was unconcerned, swallowing a Spiritual Herb to let his Heart Fire burn and heal his flesh.

He looked at the white beast’s corpse and couldn’t help but frown.

"Chaotic-level monsters, laughter beasts, born in joy… They possess the divine power of ‘Unity of Joy’; any living being that hears their laughter will uncontrollably feel overwhelming joy, enough to paralyze them, leading to their death in ecstasy."

"Even if one manages to break free, once they attack the laughter beast, any emotion other than happiness will turn into blades, slicing through the bodies of all nearby life forms. I had activated the Nether Fire, yet I still acted too slowly."

The innate divine ability of the laughter beast was exceptionally troublesome, indiscriminately affecting all life forms, which is why it earned its classification as chaotic.

Even with the Nether Fire at his disposal, Yun Ye didn’t expect its counterattack to have no delay, feeling more like a passive ability that activated continuously.

One must admit, the laughter beast’s powers were indeed perverse; with no defenses, death was the only outcome.

"Cough cough…"

After spitting up a few more mouthfuls of blood and catching his breath, Yun Ye finally crouched down to harvest a Spiritual Herb guarded by the laughter beast.

"Another high-level Spiritual Herb; I’m almost done. If I continue, Tong Yuan will likely solve the problem."

Yun Ye glanced at the sky, which was turning to nighttime, feeling a hint of regret.

There wasn’t enough time!

He couldn’t deal with the laughter beast any longer and had to take the most valuable part.

"The white horn has the effect of interfering with consciousness; it’s a Spirit Law tool material… I’ll throw it in with Soul Gold when I return."

Yun Ye carried a large quantity of Spiritual Herbs and re-entered the Cracking Wind Narrow.

The Cracking Wind Narrow is the gap between two towering mountains, a necessary route to the Nine Bone Spirit Grass, and the only passage without the Cracking Wind.

Yun Ye wanted to silently slip inside, and there was only one way to do that: to confront the Cracking Wind and climb to the mountain peak!

Yun Ye looked at the nearly vertical cliffs on both sides and first tossed a stone inside as a test.

—Instantly, it cracked, turning to dust.

Looking at the mountain that had withstood the test of the Cracking Wind for ten thousand years yet remained towering and steadfast, Yun Ye’s eyelids twitched.

This entire mountain was forged from Soul Gold.

The mountain was resilient enough to endure the cleansing of the Cracking Wind for millennia.

However, as a Spiritual Law master, he was only a mortal…

"It seems activating my Spirit Sense was the right choice; otherwise, even consuming Spiritual Herbs would not allow me to pass through here."

Yun Ye had completely broken the Spirit Law chains, and now nothing restrained him.

This included the previous limitations set by Qi Lian’s awakening technique.

With Qi Lian’s skill level, if she had placed Spirit Law chains on an ordinary Spiritual Law master, that person would likely never escape in their lifetime.

But awakening the Spirit Sense changed everything; as time passed, the power of the Spirit Law chains would weaken. Sooner or later, Yun Ye would find a way to gradually erase them.

The Extreme Flame significantly accelerated this process, allowing Yun Ye to become someone who could directly confront those with divine powers.

All of this relied on activating his Spirit Sense.

Without activating it, Yun Ye could not enhance his strength or even notice the presence of the crystal of life containing spirit fire.

This world held far too many mysteries waiting to be explored; the hidden truths reached far beyond this alone.

What lay ahead?

What about the long-lost Dao Tools?

These were all worth Yun Ye spending a lot of time to investigate.

—Of course, that was after defeating Tong Yuan and Shi Baiyan!

"Unyielding Immortal Flame!"

"Celestrial Flame!"

Yun Ye enveloped himself in two layers of flames.

The blazing Unyielding Immortal Flame burned through the Cracking Wind, while the Celestial Flame blocked all forces besides the Cracking Wind.

Without his Spirit Sense, stepping into a state of dual focus would have been impossible; even with Spiritual Herbs, he could never force his way through the Cracking Wind Mountain!

Without hesitation, Yun Ye took a step forward—his Immortal Flame surged!

It began!

This was a deadly climb!

Yun Ye used both hands and feet to scale the Cracking Wind Mountain, where the slope quickly became steep. One wrong move could send him tumbling to a disastrous fate!

Even though he activated the ultimate Heart Fire state and could walk on air, walking on the Cracking Wind was still unlikely…

Thus, Yun Ye was truly giving his all, intensely focused on climbing.

The Cracking Wind possessed powers beyond imagination.

Even with the Unyielding Immortal Flame activated, he could not entirely withstand the Cracking Wind; the Celestial Flame compensated for it.

This led to an astonishing drain on Yun Ye’s spirit energy, exhausting it in just minutes.

Yun Ye could only devour Spiritual Herbs, climbing faster and with more agility!

As all the Spiritual Herbs ran out and the power surged through his body, leaving him battered and bruised, Yun Ye finally reached the summit of the Cracking Wind Mountain.

From this high point, he easily saw the entire valley below… and understood why Tong Yuan needed several days of preparation just to feel confident in dealing with a Chaotic-level monster.

In the center of the valley stood a wind tree.

Endless Cracking Wind spread out from the center of the tree, forming an umbrella shape extending throughout the sky.

It looked as though all the Cracking Wind of the mountain originated from this tree.

"A spirit tree that has survived the raging winds? It has evolved to harness the Cracking Wind and taken root in this metallic ground?"

Yun Ye was astonished.

The vitality of this tree was remarkably strong—how lucky it must be to have achieved dual evolution and survived in this death zone! It was nothing short of a miracle!

… No, that’s not right!

Life itself is a miracle; it holds infinite possibilities. In the infinite measure of time, even the smallest probabilities become inevitable!

This tree might just be the miracle of the Crescent Moon Secret Realm over the millennia, which gave rise to the rare Nine Bone Spirit Grass!

Dealing with such a formidable chaotic entity would likely reduce even the potency of secret blood.

After all, this was a spirit tree that had broken through its barriers to undergo self-evolution, largely escaping the constraints of the Secret Realm.

"Tong Yuan… is not here."

Yun Ye scanned the entire valley.

All he saw were a few figures in Black Armor standing at the edges, watching the Wind Tree; Tong Yuan was nowhere in sight.

He didn’t even see Shi Baiyan or Xiao Yue.

Even though he had arrived, Yun Ye did not hurry. He silently searched for a sheltered spot at the mountain peak, focusing on the valley and waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

Although he had already surpassed his previous strength, compared to the members of powerful families skilled in secret techniques, his foundation was still weak… whether he overestimated or underestimated, there was only one chance!

"Heavenly Phenomenon!"

Yun Ye gripped the metal rod; unlike a day before, one end was now wrapped in various colored threads.
