Chapter 445
by post_apiChapter 445: Heading to the Family Burial Ground
A man and a woman stood silently in front of a grave for a long time.
The ghostly infant lying on the ground had already closed its eyes and continued its peaceful slumber.
In the end, it was the woman with short hair who stepped forward and picked up the baby.
The young man could only sorrowfully smile as he watched this scene. He stood up, seemingly unable to think of any way to handle the baby, and could only sigh towards the sky.
Upon hearing this sigh, tears welled up in the woman’s eyes and fell down her cheeks.
As each tear dropped onto the ghostly baby’s face, something incredible happened! The skin, once dark and ashen, miraculously turned into the healthy rosy complexion of a normal baby.
Surprised, the woman didn’t even have time to call her husband over to see. She realized that the baby in her arms rapidly transformed from a ghostly figure into a human one.
The entire process took no more than three seconds. The ghostly baby had now become a healthy baby, tightly gripping its tiny hands, breathing evenly, seemingly unaware of what had transpired in the outside world.
The woman happily waved and shouted. The man was startled, thinking something had happened, and quickly ran over to his wife.
When the man saw his son turning into a normal baby, he also froze for a moment. After a few seconds, he wiped away his tears sadly.
But after wiping his tears, the man seemed to think of a possibility for the future. He didn’t look at the child again, just lowered his head and paced back and forth.
After a while, he said something, and the woman had a huge reaction when she heard it! She immediately started arguing with her husband, even taking several steps back while tightly holding onto the child.
In short, both sides started discussing something. They talked for a long time on the windy mountain and finally reluctantly reached an agreement.
Then they began their descent from the mountain, but both were silent. They took turns holding the child, each comforting in their own way.
They were like they might never see the child again, so in the last moment, they wanted to remember his appearance, both as a ghost and as a human…
The Ghost Mirror screen flickered for the last time. When it cleared again, they were at the entrance of Luoxi City People’s Hospital.
Chu Jiang’s parents dressed in a very cautious manner, wearing hats, sunglasses, masks, and coats. When no one was looking, they quietly placed their baby in their arms next to the steps outside the hospital.
Then they didn’t hurry to leave, but went back to the car to change their clothes. Afterwards, they pretended to go for a walk and walked back and forth in this area, observing what was happening with the children.
Not long after, a young couple walked out of the hospital entrance. The man was carrying a white CT bag from the hospital, and the woman looked sad, as if she had received some bad news from the examination.
By this time, the child at the entrance had already attracted the attention of passersby. Because he started crying, his little hand waving and his little feet kicking the swaddling cloth.
This scene made Chu Jiang’s mother feel uneasy. She seemed to be hearing this child cry for the first time, and instinctively wanted to go over; but Chu Jiang’s father held her hand and shook his head slightly with a serious expression.
The young couple quickly joined the crowd. They asked others and, after learning that nobody knew whose child it was, hesitated for a moment before stepping forward to pick him up.
After soothing him for a while and seeing that nobody came, the couple proactively took the child into the hospital for examination.
……
In fact, all of this was seen by Chu Jiang’s biological parents. They didn’t hurry to leave, and quietly followed Chu Jianjun and Li Xiuxian for several days.
After confirming that this couple were good people and intended to adopt the child, they found themselves in a dilemma.
Chu Jiang could understand that his birth parents were worried that his foster parents would be harmed by the ghost baby.
What surprised Chu Jiang was that the Ghost Mirror quickly skipped several still images, and his birth parents had actually been following Chu and Li for over six months to make sure their son was growing up healthy. After they were certain that nothing would happen in the short term, they left.
As for the place they were going back to, of course it was the family cemetery…
After finishing reading everything, Chu Jiang hesitated for a moment. So, were his birth parents still alive? As long as there hadn’t been any accidents in these years.
So, had they seen the video where his hands turned into Chu’s Jiang’s hands? Did they still follow news from the paranormal community? Did they know that their son had inevitably become a Ghost Master?
Taking a deep breath, Chu Jiang decided to go directly to the family cemetery!
Some things are bound to be faced sooner or later. At first, when he found out he was an abandoned child, Chu Jiang felt some resentment, but after understanding the whole story, he realized he had wrongly accused his birth parents.
After all, giving birth to a ghost would frighten anyone who is normal.
With the help of the Ghost Mirror, Chu Jiang could confirm that the family cemetery should be on a mountain near Xiangyang City. In one of the previous images, there was a bus stop sign from that city.
Now thinking back, Chu Jiang’s parents brought him all the way from Xiangyang City to the coastal city of Luoxi City in the south, probably hoping that Chu Jiang could find information about the Chu’s Jiang lineage through various clues.
Chu Jiang said he would leave immediately, and because he was eager, he didn’t take the slow airplane, but transformed into a beam of light using the Ghost Domain and traveled at full speed.
……
Before long, Chu Jiang arrived above Xiangyang City. He stood in the sky, looking around in all directions. After searching twice and not finding anything, he simply took out the Ghost Mirror.
This fellow was very helpful and immediately showed Chu Jiang the direction.
Finally, Chu Jiang headed west, flying farther and farther into remote and deserted places. Eventually, he crashed into a group of mountains.
To be honest, Chu Jiang thought he had remembered what the mountain looked like, so finding it shouldn’t be difficult.
However, after going deep into the mountains, he realized he was too confident. There were countless similar peaks here, and if he didn’t have the Ghost Mirror guiding him all the way, Chu Jiang would have to search for at least ten to fifteen days.
Finally reaching his destination, Chu Jiang followed the instructions from the previous images and threw the iron plaque that looked like a mini tombstone, the Chu’s Jiang emblem, into the deep pool.
Underneath the water, a big shadow appeared. Chu Jiang instinctively sensed that it was a ghost, a very special one… of course, it meant him no harm.
The iron gate turned into a door, opening wide. Chu Jiang jumped inside.
At first, he felt everything go black and the world spinning, and then his feet suddenly landed on solid ground.
Looking up ahead, Chu Jiang saw a towering mountain. It was lush with vegetation, and clouds and mist covered its peak. It was truly a paradise.
However, as he looked closer, he noticed that the mountain was filled with numerous graves, new and old. They were neatly lined up, completely occupying the entire mountain, giving it a slightly gloomy feel.
Chu Jiang glanced at them briefly before shifting his gaze to the serene bamboo house at the foot of the mountain. Despite all that he had experienced, he couldn’t help but feel a bit nervous at that moment.
