Chapter 258: The Siege of the Monster Granny

False Soul Island was a massive landmass spanning thousands of miles, perpetually blanketed by thick black smoke. Terriful resentful spirits occasionally manifested within the haze, their heart-wrenching screams carrying for thousands of miles. Few cultivators dared approach this place.

This served as the stronghold of Ghost-Eating Monster Granny, a lair she had meticulously built over millennia.

Originally, this had been a picturesque island inhabited by a million mortals under the protection of a mid-sized sect. But after the Monster Granny’s arrival, she summoned her former lover to destroy the sect before claiming the island and slaughtering all living beings.

Using the endless Hatred from a million innocent deaths, she established the Underworld Dragon Ghost Formation, twisting the slain mortals’ Souls into wailing spirits to fuel her cultivation.

Though possessing mediocre talent, Ghost-Eating Monster Granny reached the Wind Tribulation Immortal realm solely through this formation – sacrificing countless mortal lives for her advancement. This atrocity represented merely one among her innumerable evils.

While not the strongest cultivator, she reigned as the most feared demon in the region due to her cruelty. Massacring cities and exterminating clans came as naturally to her as eating meals.

Even Demonic Path cultivators maintained basic dignity, avoiding excessive mortal slaughter unless necessary. After all, exterminating mortals meant losing future disciples – simple logic even fools understood. Yet the Monster Granny cared nothing for this, readily slaughtering thousands to marginally boost her treasures’ power.

Her actions drew contempt from both righteous sects and Demonic Path cultivators alike. But backed by powerful allies, most turned blind eyes to her crimes unless their own benefits were threatened. Even self-proclaimed Righteous Cultivators proved too selfish to confront her over mere mortal lives.

This collective inaction allowed Ghost-Eating Monster Granny’s reign of terror to continue unchecked – until today.

The Crystal Palace treasure ship glided to rest before False Soul Island. Fang Lie, the Seven Dragon True Immortals, and Mr. Suan Mei lounged around a balcony table laden with tea water, snacks, and Spirit fruits, their casual demeanor belying the grim purpose of their visit.

As the ship anchored, Fang Lie declared with cold fury, "Everyone, today we exterminate the vile Ghost-Eating Monster Granny. She dies without exception."

A unified "Yes!" echoed in response.

Fang Lie turned to Mr. Suan Mei. "You’re certain she’s here?"

"Absolutely," the consultant replied. "My calculations never err. Should she be absent, I forfeit my head."

"Naturally I trust you," Fang Lie nodded. "Now sever her Spiritual Veins."

"My intent precisely." Mr. Suan Mei bowed before diving into the sea.

A powerful protective array required staggering Spiritual Energy. While mountain reserves alone proved insufficient, absorbing energy from surrounding miles could sustain defenses against Thunder Tribulation Immortals.

Hidden formations secretly siphoned this energy. Destroying these external arrays to cut energy supplies became crucial for breaching defenses. Yet locating and dismantling such deliberately concealed Formations challenged even experts – only a master like Mr. Suan Mei stood any chance.

However, Ghost-Eating Monster Granny’s millennium of preparations meant countless restrictions and decoy arrays guarded the island. Even for the master alchemist, severing all Spiritual Energy channels would require considerable time.

Fortunately, Fang Lie wasn’t worried at all; he had plenty of time. His only concern was Ghost-Eating Monster Granny escaping.

He cupped his hands and declared, "Seven Dragon Immortals, please activate the Seven Dragon Formation. Just surround the area without attacking – ensure the old hag can’t flee!"

"As you command!" the Seven Dragon True Immortals responded in unison.

They soared into the sky as seven streaks of light, swiftly encircling the island. Channeling their Magic, they conjured earthly winds, surging waters, blazing fires, and crackling Thunderbolts across the landscape.

The sky darkened as ominous clouds rolled in, rumbling with draconic growls. When the heavens fully darkened, Fang Lie felt space itself solidify around him – all Five Elements Teleportation techniques became unusable.

The Seven Dragon Formation was complete. Ghost-Eating Monster Granny stood no chance against this containment!

The commotion immediately alerted the island’s occupant. "Damn you Seven Dragon Immortals!" came her raspy shriek. "What quarrel exists between us?"

Wind Dragon Immortal chuckled. "Though no feud exists, you’ve gravely offended our liege. We merely execute orders."

"Liege? You serve another now?" the crone screeched. "Who dares trouble me?"

"Your granddaddy Fang Lie!" The youth sneered. "Your endless crimes mock Heaven’s justice. Since divine retribution failed, I’ll personally erase your wretched existence!"

"You petty brat!" she howled. "Our minor dispute ended with MY loss! Why pursue this?"

Fang Lie grinned. "Come vent your grievances then! I’m right here."

The crone nearly choked with rage. Charging out meant facing seven Wind Tribulation Immortals – certain death. Swallowing pride, she pleaded, "Let’s forget past matters! Withdraw now!"

"Impossible," Fang Lie retorted cheerfully. "I insist on settling accounts."

"But I was wronged!" she wailed.

"I covet your treasures," he stated bluntly. "Fire Spirit Peak’s maintenance drains my meager resources. Your hoard will fund righteous causes, earning you posthumous merit."

The seven Immortals exchanged exasperated glances, stifling laughter.

"You self-righteous hypocrites!" the crone screamed. "Heaven’s justice? This is robbery!"

"Eliminating you IS justice," Fang Lie countered. "Plundering your ill-gotten gains isn’t sinful. The Fang Family answers only to Heaven’s conscience – others’ opinions matter not. Prepare to die, hag!"

The crone cackled madly. "Fool! My Netherworld Dragon Ghost Formation channels endless Netherworld spirits through countless trapped souls! Not even Thunder Tribulation Immortals could breach it! Your ragtag band can’t touch me!"

A colossal waterspout erupted offshore as she spoke. The collapsing pillar revealed a severed Spiritual Energy conduit – one of hundreds feeding her Formation, but a critical warning.

"Who dares sabotage my work?" she shrieked. "Cease now or face eternal vengeance!"

Beneath the waves, Mr. Suan Mei silently continued dismantling nodes, trusting anonymity.

Fang Lie’s voice shattered his hopes: "Want to know my helper’s identity? Oh, I’d never reveal it’s Mr. Suan Mei!"

The strategist’s face purpled, nearly vomiting blood in frustration.
