Chapter 257: Plotting Against the Monster Granny

Upon hearing this, the Seven Dragon True Immortals immediately ceased idle talk, stood up in unison, and bowed respectfully, "In that case, we greet the Island Lord!"

"Fellow Daoists, no need for formalities~" Fang Lie hastily rose to return the courtesy, "From now on, we’re all comrades. Please be seated."

"Thank you, Island Lord!" The seven courteously resumed their seats.

Mr. Suan Mei followed by clasping his hands and smiling, "Does this mean I may also address you as Island Lord now?"

Fang Lie scratched his head, "Very well, you may become my follower. You must assist me at least once every five years, and I’ll refine the spirit pills you require!"

"Many thanks, my lord," Mr. Suan Mei pressed further with a grin, "Might I also receive some Immortal Tea?"

"Not a chance~" Fang Lie retorted irritably, "I refined an entire furnace of pills but only got half a pound of this tea. That miserly wretch!"

Mr. Suan Mei chuckled, "This Spirit-Nourishing Immortal Tea grows from spiritual roots on Fengping Island. With only one plant yielding an ounce per decade, Island Lord Fengping gave you five years’ harvest – that’s remarkably generous!"

"Ah, I wronged him then," Fang Lie conceded. "I’ll offer better terms when he next requests pills."

The Seven Dragon Immortals grew more approving witnessing Fang Lie’s forthright admission of error.

Immortal Wind Dragon smiled approvingly, "The Island Lord’s integrity is admirable. We’ll spare no effort in future tasks!"

"Excellent! There is something I need now," Fang Lie declared.

"Command us, Island Lord!" Immortal Wind Dragon responded gravely.

"Simply put – I’m desperately short on funds and plan to rob someone," Fang Lie announced cheerfully.

The room froze. All present stared at Fang Lie in stunned silence.

The Seven Dragon Immortals seethed internally: *First he forbids wickedness, now demands robbery? This mockery goes too far!*

A stunned Mr. Suan Mei protested weakly, "My lord, didn’t you just vow to avoid evil deeds?"

"Indeed! As my noble lineage dictates," Fang Lie maintained solemnly.

"Then how explain this robbery scheme?" Mr. Suan Mei pressed.

Fang Lie’s grin returned, "Robbing good folk would be wickedness. But plundering Ghost-Eating Monster Granny? That’s righteous retribution!"

Understanding dawned, the Immortals’ expressions softened.

Yet Immortal Wind Dragon frowned, "Though that vile crone deserves death, her patron is Wan Gui Immortal – a Fire Tribulation expert from the Soul-Devouring Sect. Eliminating her invites terrible trouble!"

Demonic overlords thriving in chaotic regions always had powerful backing. Killing them risked sect wars unless done covertly.

Ghost-Eating Monster Granny’s Fire Tribulation patron from the Ten Great Demonic Sects deterred most challengers.

Fang Lie scoffed, "Fire Tribulation ants? I fear not even Thunder Tribulation elders! Should her master object, my Kunlun Sword Token will send him fleeing!"

"But if he remains undaunted?" Mr. Suan Mei ventured.

"Then I’ll not hesitate to expend a Sword Token!" Fang Lie declared fiercely.

Emboldened, Immortal Wind Dragon vowed, "We’ll undertake this mission!"

"Include me!" Mr. Suan Mei added, "A millennium of atrocities demands reckoning!"

"Tch~" Fang Lie said disdainfully, "Just admit you want their treasures instead of putting on that hypocritical act. How tedious!"

The Seven Dragon True Immortals burst into laughter.

Mr. Suan Mei remained unoffended, accustomed to Fang Lie’s blunt nature, and simply chuckled without comment.

Fang Lie pressed on, "You’re getting nothing this time. Remember your five-year service clause? Come back for loot next round."

"Aiya!" Mr. Suan Mei stamped his foot dramatically. "And here I prided myself on mastering Yi Numerology! Why didn’t I foresee this? Utterly outmaneuvered! Had I known you recruited disciples to plunder demonic sects, I’d never have agreed to that clause!"

His theatrical remorse drew fresh laughter.

The diviner could only sigh. A deal was a deal – he’d honor it despite regrets.

"Enough chatter," Fang Lie declared. "Dao friend Suan Mei, track Ghost-Eating Monster Granny’s whereabouts. Is she holed up? If yes, we storm her den."

"Storm?!" Mr. Suan Mei gaped. "This isn’t robbery – it’s outright annihilation!"

"Obviously," Fang Lie shrugged. "What she carries pales against her hoard. We take everything."

"But her lair’s defenses!" the diviner protested. "A millennium-old protective array! Not even Thunder Tribulation Immortals could breach it quickly!"

Fang Lie smirked. "You’ll sever the Spiritual Veins feeding her formation. The Seven Dragon Immortals will batter it nonstop. Two months max – that turtle shell will crack."

    The group inhaled sharply.

This textbook siege tactic faced two hurdles: needing both formation mastery to disrupt energy flows and sustained magical bombardment. While Mr. Suan Mei could manage the former and the Seven Dragon Formation the latter, the month-long assault would emit Spiritual Pressure detectable for miles.

"Within days, her allies would rally!" Mr. Suan Mei objected. "Demons might ambush us mid-siege!"

"Fire Tribulation foes flee from my Kunlun Sword Token," Fang Lie countered. "Wind Tribulation nuisances? Crush them outright."

"And if they strike when we’re magically drained?" pressed Immortal Wind Dragon. "Breaking her array requires our full power for six weeks. We’d be defenseless during recovery periods."

Fang Lie tossed a Jade Bottle. "Ten Thousand Years of Emptiness. Hundred drops. Enough?"

Immortal Wind Dragon scanned it with divine sense. "Each drop restores full Magic! Five could refill our Golden Pools! But this rarity…"

"Payment for recent pill commissions," Fang Lie explained. "Plenty more where that came from."

"More than sufficient!" The dragon immortal grinned. "Let fools try ambushing us!"

Mr. Suan Mei slapped his knee. "Madness! I’ll trace the hag’s location within three days." Departing hastily, he left the group chuckling.

Fang Lie turned to his guests. "Honored VIPs, join me for Low-Level Beast meals?"

As the Seven Dragon Immortals accepted, he summoned Mao San and Gou Si to prepare the feast.
