Chapter 234: The Scarlet Moon Is Lazy

In just two short months, unnoticed by many, the Babel Tower had grown significantly more powerful.

“Seven Core Operators, each possessing unique and formidable abilities, combined with my own ‘hidden power’… Even in any country within the world of Noah, this force should never be underestimated.”

Bai Yan was well aware, however, that this was just the beginning.

The current Babel Tower was not strong enough. Far from it.

Their enemies were neither any country nor individuals, not even the lofty “Rainbows” of the Noah world. Only the Outer God was worthy of being called the true adversary of the Babel Tower!

Bai Yan took a deep breath and calmly opened the operator list of Babel Tower, reviewing each entry one by one.

    Operators of Babel Tower

    Fist of Duel

After receiving the Awakening Soul, Fist of Duel had reached the strength of a Potential Crown. Various attributes on his character card were significantly enhanced, with a new power added:

    Seizing the Opportunity

    Once per battle, this attack

    cannot be evaded and will

    absolutely hit.

    This fascinating ability,

    resembling a martial arts skill,

    hinted at the concept of

    causality. Though the attack

couldn’t be evaded, it could still

    be defended against—

    particularly effective against

    squishy, high-evasion enemies.

    Moreover, Bai Yan noticed

    something curious. Upon

    reaching the Potential Crown

level, Fist of Duel’s mood rose

to 7, and his loyalty increased

    to 5.

    “Indeed, in such a desperate

    situation, any glimmer of hope

must be tightly grasped… If I

were in his place, I would also

    be grateful to this inexplicable

    ‘great presence.'”

    Psychic Dancer

    Already a Potential Crown,

    Psychic Dancer’s abilities had

    also ascended through

    awakening.

    Bai Yan mused on

    itsusefulness in battles for

    swift, stealthy communication.

    Mysterious Magic

    Though reaching the Plane

    stage, this operator’s growth

    left Bai Yan disappointed.

    “Shame of the Babel Tower,”

    Bai Yan muttered. “He’s

    wasting my Awakening Soul.”

    Despite the harsh critique,

    Mysterious Magic boasted

    unique abilities, such as the

    forbidden curse Foreseeing

    the Future—briefly glimpsing

    events a few seconds ahead—

    and the devastating Black Sun,

    capable of leveling half a

    street.

    The Scarlet Moon

    While reviewing the logs of

    “Queen of the Scarlet Moon,”

    Bai Yan paused.

    “This guy…” he muttered. “She

    actually went straight to find

    Mu Ling!”

    The Scarlet Moon’s quarters

    were grand and luxurious, but

the room was empty save for

    herself and her companion—a

    small, vampiric otter named

    Lan Lan.

    This ancient creature, older

    than many of Babel Tower’s

    members, dozed peacefully

    beside its owner.

The Scarlet Moon lay on her

bed, gazing at the ceiling with

    an unreadable expression. She

raised her hand to touch the

    black, tower-shaped brand on

    her chest.

    Forced into the Babel Tower,

she mused. A problem she had

    yet to resolve.

“Lan Lan,” she said softly, “let’s

    eat together.”

After finishing her meal, a cold

    determination filled her gaze.

    She transformed into a

    crimson mist and disappeared

    into the night.

    When Lan Lan realized its

owner was gone, it blinked in

    confusion.

    The Scarlet Moon had known

    of Mu Ling’s family for

    decades. Sparing his

    grandfather’s life had not been

    without its benefits.

    Confrontation

Ten minutes later, the gate of

    Mu Ling’s family mansion

    shattered under a dreadful

    force.

    The Scarlet Moon, calm and

    expressionless, stepped

    inside.

    “Come forth, the Hound of

    Babel Tower,” she demanded.

    Her voice was cold and

    resolute.

“If you don’t appear within one

    minute, I will kill everyone

    here.”
