    Chapter 174: Grandpa Believes Me

The wave of swords froze less than half an inch from the Second Heavenly Emperor’s head. With a metallic clang, the sword rain vanished, revealing You You standing before him, clutching two battered figures – Yongqing and the Third Heavenly Emperor.

She tossed them forward. The Second Heavenly Emperor scrambled sideways, letting the crippled Emperors thud into the mud. Their Cultivation shattered, they lay motionless, unable to even groan.

Straightening his trembling knees, the Second Heavenly Emperor edged away from his former allies. “Grandpa, let me explain! I’m not with them!” he babbled, forehead pressed to the ground.

You You’s eye twitched. Who calls a woman grandpa? That was just battle banter!

The halted swords had nothing to do with his pathetic groveling. Her Opening the Sect technique created shields for allies within range – she’d simply overextended her first attempt.

“Grandpa, it’s true!” he pleaded, mistaking her silence for doubt. “Yongqing threatened my friend Yuntian’s original spirit! I’d never oppose you otherwise!”

“Enough!” You You pressed her plain Spirit Sword against his throat. The blade hummed faintly, making the Emperor freeze mid-whimper.

    “Where’s Nie Zheng?”

“Grandpa, I don’t– wait!” His eyes widened. “Nie Zheng? You seek Nie Zheng?”

The sword bit into his neck. “Talk.”

“He’s in my palace!” The Emperor gushed like a broken dam. “Had I known you wanted him, I’d have brought him sooner! No need for this fight!”

Feng Rong and Ning Rui landed beside them. “What happened?” Ning Rui demanded.

“Yongqing ambushed him last month,” the Emperor explained quickly. “Stole a soul fragment. I hid Nie Zheng in the Second Heaven, but…”

    “Take us. Now.”

The Second Heavenly Emperor – Huan Yan – produced teleportation talismans with shaking hands. “Yes, Grandpa! Right away, Grandpa!”

Nie Zheng sat blank-eyed in a jade pavilion, thinner than they remembered. Feng Rong withdrew the soul fragment from their Soul Token. Golden light enveloped Nie Zheng as the Phoenix’s divine power worked.

“You already had the fragment!” Huan Yan exclaimed. “No wonder you’re Grandpa!”

    You You’s sword hand itched.
