Chapter 167: Launch of the New Activity!

    Early Morning.

The white mist of confusion shrouded Tatsumi City. Visibility was low, and the streets were eerily quiet, with only a few pedestrians scattered across the cityscape.

Yet beneath this tranquil facade, a foreboding sense of unrest lingered.

    The city had changed—irreversibly so.

    Superhuman power.

Its revelation had sparked a frenzy, unraveling the threads of secrecy that once veiled it. The principles of mystery were discarded, giving rise to disputes over the extraordinary across the city’s many corners.

Not long ago, the “Pastor,” a figure who had ruled the Otherworlds for decades, met his demise. His fall sent a clear message to all supernaturals:

    A new era had begun.

    Platinum Zone.

The Ferrener family, a relatively obscure but immensely wealthy clan, had long been considered “nouveau riche” by the established noble families. Though they had resided in the Platinum Zone for less than two decades, their fortune was undeniable.

But now, those who scorned the Ferreners might find themselves either gloating or trembling in fear.

The grand hall of the Ferrener estate lay in ruin. Bodies littered the space, mangled and unrecognizable.

In the center of the carnage, the patriarch—a middle-aged man with dark hair and a neatly groomed beard—clung desperately to life. Both his legs had been severed, and his labored breaths hinted at his imminent demise.

His face twisted with bitterness and sorrow as he choked out his words:

“Why? Why us? Where did we offend Babel Tower?”

Standing amidst the devastation was a single figure: a young man dressed in a black, classical robe, his demeanor calm and refined. His aristocratic bearing and gentle smile belied the chaos surrounding him.

Bai Yan spoke with unsettling ease.

“Offend us? Oh no. This… this is just for fun.”

The patriarch’s eyes widened in disbelief.

“Fun? You’ve destroyed decades of work, everything we built, and you call it fun?”

    Bai Yan’s expression didn’t waver.

“Your family’s wealth is built on blood and suffering. You’ve supplied materials to cults and enabled criminal enterprises. How many lives have been ruined because of you? You thought aligning with the Wettin family would shield you. You grew complacent.”

He paused, his gaze cold and unyielding.

“But scum like you always get cleaned up eventually.”

    The End of a Family.

As the patriarch struggled to respond, Bai Yan grew bored. With a swift kick, he ended the man’s life, shattering his skull and silencing him forever.

At that moment, his phone buzzed—a notification from Babel Tower:

“Mission Complete: 100 Legend Points and 50 Source Energy Points earned.”

    Bai Yan smirked. Though he

had initiated this chaos on his

    own accord, it had

    conveniently triggered an

    emergency mission, adding to

    his growing resource pool.

    He glanced at the surrounding

    carnage, unfazed by the

    bloodshed.

“I really have grown used to

    this,” he murmured.

    His inner thoughts turned dark.

    “Perhaps he wasn’t wrong to

    call me reckless and arrogant.

Maybe this part of me enjoys

    seeing fear in others.”

He shook off the thought and

turned as Mu Ling entered the

    hall.

    The Black Box.

    Mu Ling, stoic as ever,

    approached with a small black

box in hand. She handed it to

    Bai Yan without a word.

    Bai Yan’s demeanor shifted, his

    usual nonchalance replaced

    with solemnity.

    “This… is dangerous,” he

    muttered.

    Mu Ling frowned.

    “What is it?”

“It’s a gift from the Outer God,

the ‘Pupil of Chaos.’ If opened

    correctly, it could trigger a

    global catastrophe.”

    Her expression grew tense.

“What should we do with it?”

    Bai Yan hesitated. Destroying it

    could have unpredictable

    consequences. After a

    moment, he decided.

    “We’ll let Babel Tower handle

it. It’s safest in their hands.”

    Mu Ling nodded.

    A Strange Message.

Later, as Bai Yan returned to

    his villa, his phone vibrated

once more. He glanced at it,

    expecting another Babel Tower

    notification, but was instead

    greeted by an unexpected

    message:

“We aim to restore balance to

all living things and return the

world to its prime. Join us in

    ushering humanity into a new

    era. Yes / No.”

    The sender: Equal Wellness

    Club.

Bai Yan furrowed his brow. He

had heard of this name before

    but couldn’t place it.

Before he could dwell on it,

    another message arrived, this

    time from Babel Tower:

    “New Medium-Scale Event

    Unlocked: Chaos of

    Equilibrium.”

Bai Yan’s lips curled into a

    smile.

    “Interesting.”

    And so, another chapter of

    chaos began.
