Volume 6 + Chapter 100: Urban Pursuit Battle

Xia Yi slid downward from the tower using the ice chain.

She had a hundred different ways to escape from the tower. If she wanted to leave, no one could stop her.

This was merely one stylish option among many.

In the absolute worst-case scenario, she could even blow the tower apart with an ultra-large-scale spell.

Though for now, there was no need to resort to such extreme measures.

Suddenly, Xia Yi felt a violent tremor travel through the ice chain. She looked upward through her visor and discovered that Kennedy’s subordinates had severed the chain using enchanted bullets.

Only then did everyone react, hurriedly searching for the golden figure.

“He’s above us! The Man of Justice is above us!!” someone cried out.

Everyone looked upward and saw the armored swordsman soaring high through the air.

By the time they tried raising their guns to fire overhead, it was already too late.

The Man of Justice had already arrived directly above them.

“Rose…”

Xia Yi had originally intended to summon the Rose Staff and smash these people with some good old-fashioned physical magic.

Then she realized something felt off.

Human King Armor combined with the Rose Staff…

That aesthetic was kind of weird, wasn’t it?

Using the Holy Sword against mere cannon fodder also felt unnecessary. It cheapened the weapon.

So she decided not to use any weapon at all.

She clenched her fist, infused it with dragon power, and slammed it toward the ground.

“Shockwave!”

Although Xia Yi wasn’t particularly skilled in hand-to-hand combat, pure dragon brute force alone was already more than enough.

The impact blasted away huge numbers of guards. Many lost consciousness midair and dropped their weapons.

Xia Yi looked around and saw more guards descending from the tower atop floating discs.

Additional reinforcements were also rushing over from nearby streets. Before long, the number of enemies would only continue increasing.

“Alright, enough playing around.”

Xia Yi tossed the gun aside and dashed toward a direction with fewer people.

Shrill alarm sirens echoed throughout the night of Molent City.

The dazzling sleepless metropolis transformed instantly.

On every street, large or small, every advertising screen, projection system, and even the magical airships flying overhead all displayed the same image.

The image showed a golden-armored swordsman overwhelming an entire squad of guards.

She planned to jump to the top of another building and shake off the pursuers using her nimble footwork.

However, just as she stepped onto the railing and prepared to leap, she sensed a sudden disturbance in the airflow.

Accompanied by the roar of machinery, a strange object rose from the gap between the buildings and blocked her path.

It resembled a giant black metal bird, marked with the insignia of the Public Security Patrol. Large and small rotating propellers spun atop and behind it, churning the air with deafening noise.

Clearly, it was a flying vehicle.

A side hatch on the aircraft opened.

Inside stood patrol officers manning an enormous autocannon, aiming at Xia Yi with murderous intent.

“This is the Vulcan Cannon capable of killing even dragons! Man of Justice, go to hell before its firepower!”
