Volume 6 + Chapter 100: Urban Pursuit Battle

Xia Yi slid downward from the tower using the ice chain.

She had a hundred different ways to escape from the tower. If she wanted to leave, no one could stop her.

This was merely one stylish option among many.

In the absolute worst-case scenario, she could even blow the tower apart with an ultra-large-scale spell.

Though for now, there was no need to resort to such extreme measures.

After all, the persona she was currently playing was that of a true man,

    Man of Justice.

    Clang!

Suddenly, Xia Yi felt a violent tremor travel through the ice chain. She looked upward through her visor and discovered that Kennedy’s subordinates had severed the chain using enchanted bullets.

However, she did not panic. While suspended in midair, she adjusted her posture, landed with both feet on the ground, and dispersed the impact through a crouching stance.

    Boom!

From the perspective of the guards below, it looked as though some unidentified object had fallen from the heavens, smashing a massive crater into the ground.

Within the swirling dust clouds, a swordsman clad in golden armor slowly emerged.

The scene carried an overwhelming visual impact.

Just as the ground guards stood there in confusion, voices came through their portable communication devices.

“The suspicious target that landed on the ground is Man of Justice, the evil criminal who attempted to assassinate the Lord Citymaster! Shoot him dead immediately! Leave no survivors!!”

Upon receiving the order from above, the ground guards instantly raised their weapons and opened fire on Xia Yi.

Since the Human King Armor could not remain active for too long, Xia Yi had no intention of standing around getting shot any further.

She raised one hand and clenched it tightly, activating Chant Suppression to instantly cast magic without incantation. A torrent of flames burst from her armored gauntlet.

Sweeping her arm forward, she created a towering wall of fire that curved into a protective barrier, concealing the golden swordsman within the flames.

    “Fire! Fire! Keep firing!!”

The guards on the ground continued unloading bullets relentlessly.

Yet when the bullets entered the flames, no metallic impact sounds followed.

“Something’s wrong! The Man of Justice isn’t inside the fire!”

One of the guards noticed the anomaly and shouted loudly.

Only then did everyone react, hurriedly searching for the golden figure.

“He’s above us! The Man of Justice is above us!!” someone cried out.

Everyone looked upward and saw the armored swordsman soaring high through the air.

By the time they tried raising their guns to fire overhead, it was already too late.

The Man of Justice had already arrived directly above them.

    “Rose…”

Xia Yi had originally intended to summon the Rose Staff and smash these people with some good old-fashioned physical magic.

Then she realized something felt off.

Human King Armor combined with the Rose Staff…

That aesthetic was kind of weird, wasn’t it?

Using the Holy Sword against mere cannon fodder also felt unnecessary. It cheapened the weapon.

So she decided not to use any weapon at all.

She clenched her fist, infused it with dragon power, and slammed it toward the ground.

    “Shockwave!”

    Boom!!

Although Xia Yi wasn’t particularly skilled in hand-to-hand combat, pure dragon brute force alone was already more than enough.

The impact blasted away huge numbers of guards. Many lost consciousness midair and dropped their weapons.

    “D-Don’t come over here…!”

The guards farther away were terrified out of their minds and instinctively opened fire.

While descending from midair, Xia Yi casually snatched a gun out of the air. Thanks to the instincts of a Sword Saint, she didn’t even need to look before pulling the trigger toward the side.

    Rat-tat-tat-tat-tat!

Muzzle flashes illuminated the golden visor. After a burst of precise gunfire, Xia Yi emptied the magazine and shot every remaining guard’s weapon out of their hands with astonishing accuracy.

She lowered her head and glanced at the smoking barrel in her hand, then at the disarmed guards, unable to help sighing in admiration.

    “This thing’s actually pretty useful.”

Xia Yi looked around and saw more guards descending from the tower atop floating discs.

Additional reinforcements were also rushing over from nearby streets. Before long, the number of enemies would only continue increasing.

    “Alright, enough playing around.”

Xia Yi tossed the gun aside and dashed toward a direction with fewer people.

Shrill alarm sirens echoed throughout the night of Molent City.

The dazzling sleepless metropolis transformed instantly.

On every street, large or small, every advertising screen, projection system, and even the magical airships flying overhead all displayed the same image.

The image showed a golden-armored swordsman overwhelming an entire squad of guards.

The people of Molent City were utterly shocked.

“What’s going on? What are they broadcasting?”

“It’s a wanted notice, my god, it’s even a five-star wanted notice, something unprecedented!!”

“The Lord Citymaster is offering an enormous amount of Gio for a criminal… The criminal’s name is… Man of Justice?!”

    Molent City exploded into chaos.

Even hardened outlaws felt tempted by such an astronomical bounty.

If someone obtained that reward, they could live the rest of their life in luxury without worrying about food or money ever again.

Ordinary citizens, meanwhile, were confused. Why had the hero who eliminated Bi Yangde and Lao Huo a few days ago suddenly become a heinous wanted criminal?

“Warning! Warning! The most dangerous criminal in Molent City’s history, Man of Justice, has appeared! The Public Security Patrol is carrying out a lethal suppression operation! Any capable fighters are encouraged to cooperate with the patrol and eliminate the Man of Justice!”

“All civilians evacuate this street immediately!”

“I repeat, all civilians evacuate this street immediately!”

A patrol broadcast vehicle sped through the streets, announcing the warning to nearby civilians.

“Well then, looks like I’ve officially debuted as Molent City’s number one superstar.”

Xia Yi leapt onto the wall of a tall building, using agile movement techniques to sprint across walls and rapidly reach the rooftop.

She planned to jump to the top of another building and shake off the pursuers using her nimble footwork.

However, just as she stepped onto the railing and prepared to leap, she sensed a sudden disturbance in the airflow.

Accompanied by the roar of machinery, a strange object rose from the gap between the buildings and blocked her path.

It resembled a giant black metal bird, marked with the insignia of the Public Security Patrol. Large and small rotating propellers spun atop and behind it, churning the air with deafening noise.

Clearly, it was a flying vehicle.

A side hatch on the aircraft opened.

Inside stood patrol officers manning an enormous autocannon, aiming at Xia Yi with murderous intent.

“This is the Vulcan Cannon capable of killing even dragons! Man of Justice, go to hell before its firepower!”
