“It serves you right for not having parents. Do you really think locking me up here for a lifetime will make me love you? Dream on!”
“No one will ever love you, you monster! You lunatic!”
…
“He Baizhi? What are you daydreaming about?” Colleague Sister Hua urged impatiently.
He Baizhi suddenly snapped back from the suffocating feeling of being strangled to death in her previous life. Her hands were still trembling. With a “smack,” the documents that Sister Hua had just forcibly stuffed into her hands scattered all over the floor.
“Are you okay?” Sister Hua asked with concern when she saw that the other person was not in good condition.
But He Baizhi seemed to be trapped in a nightmare. She didn’t respond to anyone’s calls.
Sister Hua’s blood pressure shot up from frustration. She really wondered how He Baizhi had even gotten into the Fu Corporation. Every other colleague here was a graduate of a prestigious university—all smart people.
But He Baizhi? She was practically a walking disaster. Ask her to photocopy a document, and she would jam the printer by stuffing an entire ream of 4K paper into it until it died.
When a shareholder came for an inspection, she acted like she didn’t even see him and splashed an entire cup of black coffee right in his face.
And yet despite all this, she still hadn’t been fired!
He Baizhi finally realized that she had been reborn!
In her previous life, it was today that she went to deliver documents to Fu Tingshen. She happened to notice he seemed to have a headache, so she casually said a few words of concern.
Who would have thought that those few words of concern would lead to her being imprisoned? Sure, he gave her a castle-like mansion, let her drink pure natural mountain water every day, fed her delicacies from land and water, and let her wear jewelry worth tens of thousands only to discard it after one use.
But none of that was what she wanted. She just wanted to marry her childhood sweetheart Lin Moyu and give him eight sons, living a peaceful life.
This time, she absolutely must not meet Fu Tingshen again! Let that madman grow old and die alone, never to receive her love!
Remembering the suffocating pain just before her death in her previous life, she panicked and grabbed her bag, rushing out without caring that it was still working hours.
Sister Hua’s mouth twitched in anger after seeing this. Just as she bent down to pick up the documents, a pair of jade-white hands beat her to it.
“Let me.”
Inside the dimly lit office, the burgundy marble floor reflected the crystal chandelier above. A man’s low grunt was especially clear in the quiet space.
Fu Tingshen’s headache was so intense it felt like his head was going to explode. The whites of his eyes were bloodshot, making him look like a beast on the verge of losing control.
Just as he was in so much pain that he was about to pass out, a soft knock came at the office door. His eyes instantly filled with ferocity, and he stared intently at the door.
“Get out,” Fu Tingshen said, his voice icy cold. He heard the knocking stop.
Just as he thought the person had left, the door was pushed open. The blinding white light made Fu Tingshen instinctively raise his hand to block his eyes.
When he lowered his hand, ready to tell the person to get out, his gaze was drawn to the person in front of him. He even forgot to breathe.
Fu Tingshen just sat there blankly, his hand still raised, his eyes terrifyingly red, staring in a daze as the woman slowly walked to the opposite side of his desk.
“President Fu, here are the documents you requested.” Xu Xinghe’s expression remained unchanged, with a faint smile on her lips, seemingly unfazed by the man’s earlier ferocity.
The woman before him had long, silky black hair that reached her waist and was casually draped over her shoulders, making her oval face look even more gentle and elegant.
Her eyebrows were long and slender, her eyes a warm light brown. When she smiled, two shallow dimples appeared at the corners of her mouth.
Fu Tingshen was like a cat whose neck had been grabbed. All his fierceness vanished the instant he saw her, replaced by a deep possessiveness in his eyes.
