Chapter 85: Not Following the Script
by WuWangChapter 85: Not Following the Script
Just as Louis said, Stuart was just playing a joke on Helen. That afternoon, he dressed up as an old man wearing a tall hat, holding a cane, and dressed in a suit. He ran out from the mirror.
He served tea and water all around, smiling with a flattering look on his face—clearly, this former Royal Court great eunuch remembered old affections. Under his stream of flattery, Helen recalled how Stuart used to play with her when she was a child, and during that reminiscing, she was moved to tears.
After that, when Stuart saw Helen was about to write a report, he said he was actually a civil official and had quite good writing skills.
“But, Mr. Stuart. Director Trif told us to write the reports ourselves,” Helen said worriedly. “You’d better not write it, Helen can do it. Otherwise, Director Trif will be angry.”
“It’s fine, Your Highness Helen. Let me handle it,” Stuart said, carefully picking up the report with a smile. “Trif wouldn’t dare make a peep.”
Then, Stuart tossed the two reports into the mirror—the scene inside the mirror suddenly changed, showing a large waterbed. On that waterbed, there was a middle-aged, bald director with three women.
It seemed like they were ‘auditioning for a role.’ But it looked like this audition wasn’t following the script—a real movie definitely wouldn’t be filming this. After all, ‘Trif’s Movie Dream Factory’ was a proper big film company.
The two reports landed right on Director Trif’s face. Just as he raised his head in fury, a fountain pen was also thrown at his face.
A bewildered Trif looked up at the mirror on the ceiling and saw three people—a great eunuch with a sinister, cold smile, a little girl full of curiosity, and a young wizard smiling and giving a thumbs up.
At that moment, an explosion seemed to go off in Director Trif’s head—being extremely politically sensitive, he realized several things.
Stuart had returned to the Princess’s side. The chance of the Magic Prison Division leaning towards the Princess’s faction had increased.
[Director Trif’s respect for Ocris +500, has now risen to Respect]
[Director Trif’s friendliness towards you +20]
[Your respect for Director Trif +20—three female movie stars… Clearly, this great director not only had extensive connections in the Ministry of Magic, but his reputation in the Muggle World was also extraordinary.]
A little over ten minutes later, Director Trif had finished writing the two reports. He specifically used the fireplace to return to the Ministry of Magic headquarters and brought the reports to the higher-ups. After that, without waiting for the usual procedures, he used his connections to directly collect the formal uniforms, tools, badge numbers, and everything else for Louis and the other person.
He also took the opportunity to inquire at the Ministry of Magic about the details concerning Louis’s Three of Hearts—starting as an Inspector right away?
After understanding the situation, the guy’s expression became even more colorful.
He called Louis with a big smile on his face.
This shrewd man understood perfectly clearly—what disciple of Ocris? This was a supporter with an even bigger backing than Lufield! He had a group of major political donors behind him and was someone supported by the Barriff Family!
One day in the future, he might even become his boss!
After the call ended, Louis found the clothing and other items in the third drawer.
He changed into the agent’s long coat and felt hat with the Three of Hearts pattern printed inside. After looking in the mirror, he found it looked pretty good. When Helen saw Louis, her eyes sparkled.
“Louis, you really aren’t suited to wearing wizard robes!”
Louis rolled his eyes, found an excuse to send Helen home. Helen thought Stuart wanted to have a chat with Louis, so before leaving, she said a few words to Stuart.
But as soon as Helen left, Louis locked the office door, then shooed away the flattering Stuart and went to Lilith’s place.
Before handling the big job concerning Crowley, he had to take care of a small job first.
After knocking, Lilith, wearing slippers, opened the door.
Seeing Louis in his formal Inspector attire, the girl’s eyes filled with countless little stars, but she deliberately closed the door, leaving only a small crack, pretending not to be familiar, and said, “Inspector Louis, what brings you here? Who are you looking for?”
Louis roughly pushed the door open, flashed his badge, and said coldly, “Don’t you know why I’m here? Department of Mysteries, official business!”
With that, he strode inside.
Lilith’s eyes instantly lit up—she had been hoping to get arrested every day! So thrilling!
And, today, this Louis guy… so handsome!
He really wasn’t suited to wearing wizard robes!
She scampered after him with quick little steps, pretending to deliberately waste time. But then Louis roughly grabbed her hand and pushed her into the living room.
Upon entering the living room, Louis couldn’t help but blink—sure enough, this little girl Lilith had been lying. What nobody at home?
There were clearly five other people!
Several little foxes, either discussing a ‘script’ or practicing dancing, all had their eyes light up when they saw Louis stride in.
Louis’s eyes also lit up, and he sneered, “Everyone get on your knees, hands on your heads, grabbing your ears.”
The little foxes were slightly stunned—didn’t Lilith give Louis the script? This wasn’t following the script either.
But after Louis gave a cold laugh, everyone wagged their tails and knelt down on the floor. They seemed to find it very interesting, their eyes filled with excitement.
“Boohoo, Inspector, please forgive us—what punishment do we get for gathering for vulgar performances?” Lilith deliberately ‘reminded’ him. She also deliberately swatted Louis’s butt a few times with her tail.
Louis raised an eyebrow—such reckless audacity!
“Vulgar performances? Clearly, this is an illegal cult gathering!”
Hearing that made all the little foxes shiver. Looking at Louis’s cold gaze, they felt he seemed serious and started crying and screaming in fright.
Without even glancing at them, Louis sneered and sat on the sofa. Amidst their crying pleas, he crooked a finger at Lilith, the leader.
To prove they were just dancing, the little foxes started performing vigorously.
Only when they saw what Lilith was doing after crawling over did they relax a little and began performing even more wildly.
Watching the several young ladies in front of him, who had spent the whole day carefully preparing and dressing up in various styles, now performing a hot dance before the sofa, Louis, sitting on the sofa, fiddled with the Crystal Ball. He looked down at Lilith with a fake smile and said,
“Miss Lilith, you have quite the nerve, daring to send me the incriminating evidence recording. Now, do you realize how much trouble you’ve gotten yourself into?”
“Hmm, hmm, hmm…”
Miss Lilith brushed aside a strand of white hair from her face, lifted her head, and gave Louis a flirtatious look.
She was a bit too busy to talk right now.
After a bit of playful messing around, they all sat down together to talk serious business. And Louis suddenly understood why Lilith had specifically sought him out today—they wanted him to come over to fix their car.
Louis was a professional mechanic, always carrying a jack with him.
But just now, Miss Lilith discovered a small problem—this jack wouldn’t go down.
All six fox spirit ladies got excited. It seemed none of them believed it was that tough—with so many people, could they really not get it down?
Surely one person alone was enough to get it down.
But after each of the six fox spirit ladies tried for quite a while, they all failed. Instead, they were all sent flying by the jack, wailing.
After several hours of hard work, the jack was finally temporarily pressed down.
Although the six little foxes were exhausted and drenched in sweat, lying on the ground unable to move, they still smiled with relief.
But at that moment, Mr. Louis, the mechanic, who had been sitting on the sofa, stood up, deciding it was time to start working on the cars.
The little foxes were all dumbfounded. Probably thinking it was getting too late, they discussed whether they could postpone the repairs until tomorrow.
But Louis was a diligent man; it was no use discussing—since the car owners had called him over, they had to get a satisfactory resolution.
So he picked up the little tricycles one by one…
[You defeated six Witches…]
[Strength +1]
[Experience +50]
Probably for the next month or half a month, the six little car owners wouldn’t be calling Louis to harass him about fixing their cars.
